1988 Chevy S10 Blazer Rat Rod for sale. The drivetrain consists of a crate 355 motor with approx. 3000 miles on it. It has a high lift cam(not sure of the specs) with dual Holley 450's on an Edelbrock tunnel ram with a Hilborn style scoop. It also has a Pete Jackson noisy gear drive, MSD ignition and high torque starter. It has set of Autometer Procomp. gauges as well. The trans is a T-5 5 speed out of an Iroc Camaro with a new heavy duty clutch/pressure plate/master and slave cylinder and re-surfaced flywheel. It has a brand new custom heavy duty driveshaft that has been shorten to accomodate the T-5 speed. The rear is a GM 10 bolt 4.10 posi with drum brakes. The truck has be lowered 3 in. in back 2 in. in front. It has Billet Specialties wheels with matching billet steering wheel. It has a BeCool radiator with twin electric fans and a Camaro serpentine set-up.
The body/frame have no rust or bondo at all. The pass floorpan has a small hole about the size of a quarter. The truck was stripped/painted last year Ratrod black with metallic silver/purple chrome flames. It has a Phantom grill with a custom fiberglass front dam and rear roll pan. The engine is nicely detailed with chrome and aluminum. The interior is basically stock and is currently out of the truck. The front seats are factory Recaro seats out of a Recaro PMD Trans am. The center console is out of a 1980 Z28 and has been fabricated to fit the 5 speed shifter.
I have over $7500.00 invested in the truck, unfortunately I don't have the funds right now to complete it. It has been sitting inside my father's shop for the last year and I can't see it just sit there anymore. The truck is about 90% completed. I have about 100 pics of the restoration...from start to current condition. The exhaust is just mocked up and will need to be custom bent to clear the trans crossmember. It will need new tires soon. The engine will need to be dailed in as well. I have'nt had a chance to get around to setting the timing and adjusting the carbs. It does run/drive but should be trailered to be on the safe side. Any questions, please call me @312-459-4294. Thanks, Dave

2017 Chevy Bolt Prototype Quick Spin [w/video]
Wed, Jan 6 2016To say that there's a lot riding on the upcoming Chevy Bolt doesn't quite get at how important this all-electric vehicle could be for GM. To say that there's a lot riding on the upcoming Chevy Bolt doesn't quite get at how important this all-electric vehicle could be for GM. We are entering a new phase for EVs in the US, and it's one where there will be more than one 200+ mile range electric model that will cost around $30,000-$35,000. The two obvious first entries are the Tesla Model 3 and the Bolt, but you can bet your Level 2 charger that Nissan will be joining the party as well, along with all sorts of as-yet-unannounced entries from other automakers. The main change that all of these longer-range EVs will bring is – potentially – to make plugging in your car a mainstream thing. And if the mainstream is in play, then there's money to be made, and you're going to need one heck of an EV to get people to pick your car instead of someone else's. So, yeah, the Chevy Bolt could be a big deal. And today we not only got a bit more information about the car but we also got to go on a really short test drive in a prototype version outside of the Las Vegas Convention Center as part of CES 2016. The "drive" took place in a closed-off parking lot and my two laps through the cone course took less than three minutes, but I can still say that it looks like GM will be bringing a solid option to the marketplace soon. Chevy Bolt Prototype front 3/4 View 16 Photos If you shift into L, the regen becomes wonderfully strong. One of the pleasant surprises in the Bolt prototype is the ability to drive with just one pedal. When in D, the Bolt coasts a bit, which is nice for highway driving, but if you shift into L, the regen becomes wonderfully strong. Strong enough that you don't need to engage the brakes at all if you're in standard city traffic, with lots of gentle stops and starts. If you want even more stopping power without getting the brakes involved, the Bolt also has the regen-on-demand feature that was introduced in the Cadillac ELR and works great in the second-gen Chevy Volt. When you pull the paddle on the left back side of the steering wheel, the electric motor instantly becomes a generator and the Bolt turns forward momentum into energy for the battery pack. It will even bring the car to a complete stop and then hold it when you release the paddle.
GM drops price of Spark EV to $25,995; lease to $139/month
Tue, Apr 14 2015The drive to lower EV prices continues. GM announced today that the base model 2015 Chevy Spark EV 1LT would get a price cut to $25,995. That's $1,500 less than it used to be but the bigger news might be the lowered lease price. Instead of $199 a month, all that Chevy is asking for to get you into an all-electric Spark now is $139 a month (39 months, with no money due at signing), down from the 36-month, $199-a-month lease cost with a $999 down payment. Sadly, the number of states where the Spark EV can be bought is almost as small as the lease payment: the car is available only in California, Oregon and Maryland (well, Maryland won't be ready until the summer). GM is doing more than just lowering the MSRP. On top of the federal and state tax incentives available, GM is offering bonus cash in all three states ($1,000 in California, $1,200 in Maryland, and $3,500 in Oregon). If you're wondering why those numbers vary so much, take a look at the already-available state EV incentives in play: California offers $2,500 and Maryland $2,300. Somehow, they all balance out. If you do some addition with the $7,500 federal tax credit, you see that the Spark EV can be had for $11,000 off the MSRP no matter where you buy. If you qualify for everything, $14,995 is a darn good deal for an EV, especially one as fun as the Spark. Related Video: 2015 Chevrolet Spark EV Repriced to Offer Greater Value As low as $14,995 after full federal and state tax credits and Chevrolet Bonus Cash 2015-04-14 DETROIT – Chevrolet announced today Spark EV 1LT's new manufacturer's suggested retail price would start at $25,995. Depending on an individual's tax situation, the Spark EV is eligible for federal tax credit up to $7,500. "Chevrolet is committed to making EV driving more accessible, affordable and fun" said Steve Majoros, director of Chevrolet Car and Crossover Marketing. "The Spark EV is already the most efficient – and one of the most affordable – EVs you can buy. 2015 Spark EV customers will benefit from an impressive blend of technology, capability and low cost of ownership, now at an even more impressive price." California and Maryland Spark EV owners may also qualify for a $2,500 California state rebate or $2,300 Maryland excise tax exemption. Additional Chevrolet bonus cash is also available: $1,000 in California, $1,200 in Maryland, and $3,500 in Oregon. After full federal and state tax credits and Chevrolet bonus cash, the Spark EV could be as low as $14,995.
