This is a 92 S-10 with a GM Ramjet 350 crate motor, 5 speed stick, Posi Rear, Air Ride Suspension, A/C, etc....  It is a previous show truck, that has a lot of money spent on it. Excuse the long description, but i want you to know what you are buying.  Even if you were to just use the frame, suspension, and drive train, to make a street rod, it is worth the asking price. A lot of street rods are being built on S-10 chassis's. Some companies are building bodies to fit directly on a S-10 chassis.  Such as Superior glass works.  They are building 37-38 Chevy Cabriolet and Sedan delivery bodies that are a direct fit.  Check out the superiorglassworks website.  Also see the last picture.
I bought this truck in New Hampshire almost a year ago.  My plan was to paint it a solid color and make it a cruise night, nice day driver vehicle. Time constraints and needing money for home improvements, meant I never got to it.  This isn't my only project vehicle.  I am selling the truck as I got it.  I  have all the New Hampshire paperwork for the truck.  I never registered it in NY.
I have a carfax for the truck.  Yes the truck has a lot of miles on the carfax. 255,000  But the truck has been completely rebuilt.  This truck was chosen because it  was a clean, accident free, rust free, Texas truck. The truck went from Texas to New Hamshire in 2005. The GM ramjet 350 crate motor didn't come out until 2006.  The truck hasn't had that many miles put on it since the drive train, motor, suspension, etc... was replaced. Over 90% of the mileage was put on it in Texas, when it was a stock truck.

Engine:   GM Ram Jet 350 Crate Motor  listed for $5834.97 in the Summit Catalog.  It puts out 350 hp at 5200 rpm and 400 ft/lbs torque at 3500 rpm. A Ramjet 350 service manual is included.

Body:     Rust free, dent free, except for the damage to the hood and roof from the hood flying  up on previous owner. Shaved door handles. The poppers don't work with the remote.  They probably need to be replaced. Because it was a Texas truck, the rockers and floors are spotless (see pictures)    There are a few paint chips around the doors.  Passenger side mirror is cracked. The back wall of the cab was modified to fit a sub woofer and amp.  The front wall of the bed was cut out and re-welded in on a slant to clear the cab wall modifications. (see pics)  The rear roll pan is welded in and the license plate drops down with an electric motor. The tailgate handle is shaved and flipped to the inside of the tailgate. ( I have a set of clean stock doors available at extra cost if you want them )

Audio:     It has an Alpine CDA-9883 MP3/WMA/AAC receiver and CD player in the dash.  It has two speakers in the kick panels.  The back wall of the cab had two square holes cut in it. (see pics)  Two metal boxes, were welded in, to house the amplifier and sub woofer.  (The sub woofer was missing when I bought the truck.)  The amplifier is an Alpine V/12. The antenna hole was shaved on the fender and the antenna is above the rear view mirror on the windshield.

Exhaust:  It has stainless exhaust from the headers back. (see pics) There are two pipes running from the headers to the cats. Then two cats running in to one large muffler.  Then there are two pipes exiting the muffler than come out in front of the passenger side rear wheel.  The headers are Headmans.  They are uncoated, but are solid with just surface rust.

Trans and Rear:  It's a  Borg Warner 5 speed. I'm not sure which exact model. The rear is a posi.  The drive shaft spins about 3 1/2 rotations for one full rotation of the wheel. Which would work out to be a 3:50 ratio. That's just an approximation. Not 100% accurate.

Interior:  Nice shape.  Tilt steering column. Headliner is good.  Door panels good. Power windows.  Bench seat good.  Dash pad no cracks.  It's a comfortable truck.  I'm 6'5" and fit comfortably with the seat all the way back and the wheel tilted up.

Wheels and Tires :  20 inch Boss wheels and 245/35 ZR20 95W Toyo Proxes 4 tires with good tread.  Since I'm over 50 these wheels didn't appeal to me.  I have a 17" set of American Racing Salt Flat rims and tires I was going to use.  They are available at an extra cost.

Suspension:  A lot of money spent here.  Complete suspension replacement with tubular front upper + lower control arms. Dropped spindles.  4 link rear suspension. It's a Ride Tech system.    The front lower control arms are $600. Uppers are $400. Spindles $300. Four link rear suspension $1200. Shock wave shocks at least $700 a pair, depending on options.  It looks like it has the $1000 analog 4 way  air control system.  The other systems available are more expensive. (I'm not 100% sure, this is the first air ride vehicle I have owned) There is a leak somewhere on the front suspension.  Both front shocks leak down in about a 1/2 hour. i would think it would have to be a line or a valve, not a shock, because both sides go down, not one.  The rear shocks stay up for days.  If you wanted to run this truck with regular coil/leaf lowered suspension, you could sell all this off and recoup some of your investment. Check out the ridetech website and price these parts out.  Also see the picture of the ridetech website.  $5000 worth of parts.

Glass:  All glass is good.  New windshield. Sliding back window.

GM finds steering flaw, decides it doesn't warrant a recall

Tue, Apr 14 2015

Guess what? General Motors is back in the spotlight for not recalling something. This time, though, not only does the company have an argument against a recall campaign, but its position is supported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. According to The New York Times, over 50 owners of GM vehicles have reported instances of stuck or seized steering after driving long distances without moving the wheel. One owner complained to NHTSA that the "locked" steering of their 2013 Buick Verano caused a collision with a concrete barrier in a construction zone. Along with the 2013 to 2014 model year Verano sedans, Chevrolet Cruze and Malibu sedans are also affected. Considering the popularity of those models, GM needs to have a reason for not issuing a recall, right? "Based on a very low rate of occurrence – ranging from less than one half to less than two incidents per thousand vehicles – and the fact that the condition is remedied when the wheel is turned, GM determined this was not a safety issue," spokesman Alan Adler told The Times. The company has, however, issued a technical service bulletin for owners that complain of the problem. The fix is nothing more than a software update that is covered for 10 years or 150,000 miles from new. NHTSA cited GM's actions, along with descriptions of the problems from customers, in its decision not to issue a recall, with spokeswoman Catherine Howden saying, "the symptoms described would be a brief, perceptible change in steering feel that has little to no effect on the driver's ability to safely steer the vehicle." "When terms like 'notchy,' 'stick,' 'slip' or 'feel' are used, it does not indicate a meaningful increase in steering effort," Howden told The Times via email. What do you think? Is GM in the wrong here? Should there be a recall, or is the issue so limited as to not warrant one? Have your say in Comments. First-edition Detroit muscle raises millions for charity at Barrett-Jackson

Mon, Jan 19 2015

Amidst all the classic metal crossing the auction block each year in Scottsdale, AZ, Detroit automakers have a tradition of donating the first examples of their most enticing new muscle cars, with the proceeds of their sales going towards worthwhile charities. This year, Barrett-Jackson handled three noteworthy examples. The highest price among them was the first Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang with the VIN #001, which raised $1 million for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. General Motors donated the first new Chevy Corvette Z06 Convertible, the first retail example of the droptop supercar garnering $800,000 for the United Way. Along with the Z06, GM also donated the first new 2016 Cadillac CTS-V sedan, which brought in $170,000 for Detroit's College for Creative Studies. Although these were the headline Motown muscle machines furnished by the automakers themselves, they weren't the only vehicles auctioned off for worthy causes. A 1950 GM Futurliner bus donated by collector Ron Pratte led the charge when it brought in $4.65 million for the Armed Forces Foundation. Other lots included a custom Jeep Wrangler donated by SEMA ($85k), a new M5 donated by BMW ($800k), a '79 Oldsmobile Cutlass Hurst ($140k), '39 Cadillac LaSalle C-Hawk ($410k), Jeff Gordon's 1999 NASCAR-spec Chevy Monte Carlo ($500k) and a Victory Cross Country 8-Ball motorcycle ($180k). All told, the charity lots raised over $8.7 million for local and national charities.
