This truck has been inside of my shop for a few years- and I recently placed a battery  and primed the carborator, new rotor button and the engine fired. The motor is amazing, does not smoke, no leaks, no blowback, runs cool. I have driven around the shop lot, but not a road test sense storage(not licensed). The steering appears to be in good shape (no play in sector) New muffler and shocks were placed on the front before storage, All new wheel brake cylinders and some lines has just been installed.  I have replaced the generator with new rebuilt unit. New emergency brake cable (Not Installed)       INTERIOR: Has  a very nice job done on the beach seat ( before storage- still nice) Origional floor mat- decent shape. All the dash and gauge still present ( NO CUTTING ANYWHERE ON OR UNDER THIS TRUCK) All lights, horn works.  Door glass clear and rolls up and down good. Channeling felt is in bad shape, Wing vents glass-no cracks but they do have air bubbles. THIS TRUCK COMES With A NEW WIND SHIELD  (in wooded crate - not installed).    EXTERIOR= paint is ruff- Has recieved one coat sense its birth. Has a great petina L@@K  This truck has some low body rust and bent places- Which would be a easy fix for me if I only had the time!!!  Does have surfus rust- Mostly in and on bed.Bed wood flooring is shot- needs replacing (See photo). Floor board has a couple holes- again not that bad!  PLEASE- feel free to email W/ any questions, and will answer as quickly as possible. Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.

GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.

Silverado HD, Touareg V10 TDI face off in diesel tug-of-war

Sun, 30 Dec 2012

A couple weeks ago, we watched a Chevrolet Silverado get dominated by a Dodge Ram Heavy Duty in a fullsize pickup tug-of-war, but in that truck's defense, Chevy's Vortec gas engine was no match for the torquey Cummins turbo diesel. For our next round of vehicular tug-of-war, a Duramax-powered Silverado HD takes on Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI.
Now, on paper, putting the Duramax V8's 365 horsepower and 660 pound-feet of torque up against the V10's 310 hp and 553 lb-ft looks like an easy win for the Bowtie, but unfortunately, this battle has a similar result as the Dodge versus Chevy video, with the Silverado smoking its tires trying to move forward as it gets pulled backwards. Put another way: YouTube 2, Chevy Silverado 0.
It just goes to show, though, that big tires, bolt-on fender flares and goofy smoke stacks don't improve your towing abilities. Besides, what did the Silverado driver expect when the Touareg V10 TDI has towed a Boeing 747 in the past?
