1961 Chevrolet Apache 10 Panel Truck on 2040-cars
Belt, Montana, United States
This is a very rare, hard to find and desirable, 1961
Chevrolet 1/2 Ton Apache 10 Panel Truck. Wanted to keep this to restore but I have too
many projects, so this one has to go.
This panel truck was previously used as a delivery van. Mileage reads
386163, it is unknown if that is the actual mileage. The vehicle sat stationary for several years,
the engine runs but needs a tune up. Smokes a little bit of white, can’t tell
if it is because of the Seafoam I put in after I got it running or if it sat
for so long. It does start easily and runs good and has good oil pressure. Automatic
transmission has a B&M shifter that moves easily from gear to gear when
driving and has a transmission cooler. New battery and custom steering wheel
and torsion air front end. Engine is a V8, I looked up the numbers and it appears to be
a 267 with a 2 BBL carb. Body has rust in the usual spots for this type of
vehicle and there has been some body work done but it is in fairly good condition for a vehicle that is 53 year old vehicle.
There is a dent in the right rear quarter panel as noted in photos.
Window glass is good all-around except a crack in passenger side wing window
from a BB. Driver’s side outside mirror has cracks and is loose. Company name
has been sanded off so a new paint job will be a big improvement. Interior has new black carpeting on floor up front, on rear
and front door panels and up cargo area walls. Rear cargo area floor and wheel
wheels are diamond plated steel welded to fit. Bucket seats up front, dual chrome exhaust, and
chrome wheels. Has a stereo
radio/cassette player with rear speakers. Parking lights work, headlights are
not currently working and I haven’t had time to fully investigate that issue
yet. Needs a turning signal switch. Original owner’s manual included. This is a
really cool and unique vehicle, perfect for a custom car or rat rod project. Ready to be completely restored or tuned up
and driven. Vehicle is sold as is, where it is. No warranty is expressed or
implied. Clear MT title. $300 Pay Pal deposit required from winning bidder. Buyer
is responsible for shipping. Vehicle must be paid for in full prior to shipping
or pick up. Please feel free to contact me with any questions |

C7 Corvette makes inaugural ad appearance in Chevy's first spot with new slogan
Mon, 11 Feb 2013Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" tagline has finally been run into the ground, replaced with the Bowtie brand's "Find New Roads" slogan that's part of parent General Motors' plan to unify its everyday brand's marketing efforts worldwide. The new Chevrolet campaign was ushered in on prime time last night during the Grammy Awards on CBS, and the first spot, a 90-second full-line ad, also marks the first appearance of the 2014 Corvette Stingray in a commercial.
Being a full-line ad, the commercial is composed of vignettes centered on different vehicles in the brand's lineup. The all-new 2014 Impala also makes its first commercial appearance in dapper fashion, and time is spent on a skateboarding Sonic and a bouquet of brightly colored Spark hatchbacks driven by fashionable women. The ad starts and ends with Chevy's green halo car, the Volt, along with a young girl with her robotic dog (yes, really).
Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" campaign got off to a rocky start in the fall of 2010, but it did last for a couple of years with some tweaks. This new one, "Find New Roads" seems more intent on drawing new customers into the fold than the outgoing tagline, which seemed to play more toward the brand faithful. It admittedly reminds us more than a little the short-lived "Find Your Own Road" Saab motto (which, we note, was conceived while the Swedish brand was under GM's control), but no matter, we still think it's got more long-term potential than "Runs Deep."
Frustrated GM investors ask what more Mary Barra can do
Mon, Oct 22 2018DETROIT — General Motors Co Chief Executive Mary Barra has transformed the No. 1 U.S. automaker in her almost five years in charge, but that is still not enough to satisfy investors. Ahead of third-quarter results due on Oct. 31, GM shares are trading about 6 percent below the $33 per share price at which they launched in 2010 in a post-bankruptcy initial public offering. The Detroit carmaker's stock is down 22 percent since Barra took over in January 2014. After hitting an all-time high of $46.48 on Oct. 24, 2017, the shares have declined 33 percent. In the same period, the Standard & Poor's 500 index has climbed 7.8 percent. Several shareholders contacted by Reuters said GM could face a third major action by activist shareholders in less than four years if the share price does not improve. "I've been expecting it," said John Levin, chairman of Levin Capital Strategies. "It just seems a tempting morsel to somebody." Levin's firm owns more than seven million GM shares. Barra has guided the company through the settlement of a federal criminal probe of a mishandled safety recall, sold off money-losing European operations, and returned $25 billion to shareholders through dividends and stock buybacks from 2012 through 2017. GM declined to comment for this story, but the company's executives privately express frustration with the market's reluctance to see it as anything more than a manufacturer tied mainly to auto market sales cycles. GM's profitable North American truck and SUV business and its money-making China operations are valued at just $14 billion, excluding the value of GM's stake in its $14.6 billion Cruise automated vehicle business and its cash reserves from its $44 billion market capitalization. The recent slump in the Chinese market, GM's largest, and plateauing U.S. demand are ratcheting up the pressure. GM is one of the few global automakers without a founding family or a government to serve as a bulwark against corporate raiders. In 2015, a group led by investor Harry Wilson pressed GM to launch a $5 billion share buyback, and commit to what is now an $18 billion ceiling on the level of cash the company would hold. In 2017, GM fended off a call by hedge fund manager David Einhorn to split its common stock shares into two classes. Einhorn, whose firm still owned more than 21 million shares at the end of June, declined to comment about GM's stock price. Other investors said there were no clear alternatives to Barra's approach.
The 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan is for drivers who value performance above all else
Sat, 16 Feb 2013The car you see above is the 2014 Chevrolet SS, and it's important both because it is the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from Chevy in 17 years, and because it will be the nameplate the brand uses on NASCAR tracks all across the country starting this year.
Though it wears a name as American as baseball and apple pie, the machine was actually designed and built in Australia, sharing most of its parts with the brand-new VF-model Holden Commodore. That said, the basic chassis bits are shared with other Chevrolet models like the Camaro and Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle.
While Chevrolet is happy to sell a Malibu or Impala to anyone looking for a mainstream family sedan, but the SS is reserved for buyers interested first and foremost in performance. Most sedans sold these days are front-wheel drive, which is great for everyday driving and when the weather goes bad, but the SS is instead a rear-wheel-drive vehicle aimed at enthusiasts who love to drive and who prefer speed and performance above all else.
