The PATINA on this 1959 Apache 3100 Shortbed is PERFECT to say the least!
Mother nature has created PATINA PERFECTION after 50+ years. The body is rock SOLID and ready for to win more trophies and create many memories. NO RESERVE, HIGH BIDDER WINS! This has always been a California truck. I purchased it from the second owners, its a black plate California truck! It runs and drives GREAT with 10k miles on a pro built 235 6 cylinder connected to a smooth shifting 3 on the tree manual transmission. It gets more attention than a group of strippers! I reccently took it to a show and took 1st place! It has dropped leafs in the front and lowering blocks in the rear. It has a complete new wood bed kit from Brothers truck reccently installed. I just did a complete tuneup, new gas lines, so its running great. I also installed some period correct gangster poly glass white wall tires. Everytime I look at the patina and ROCK SOLID BODY, I'm blown away on how clean and AWESOME it looks. I reccently installed inner and outer cab corners so the truck would be rock solid. I then had the lower cab corners patina blended by a pro so its undetectible and goes with the theme of the truck. The possibilities are endless. This would make a BAD A$$ shop truck, daily driver, weekend warrior, etc. You can leave the running gear as its runs and drives great, or drop in a 6.0, LS 1, or LS7 Corvette engine and create a 650 hp MONSTER! The possibilities are endless. To me and many others, it's all about the original faded finish. Finding a early shortbed step-side Apache that's never been touched that's straight, rock solid, cancer free, IS TOUGH TO FIND. On the plus side, you don't have to worry about scratching the paint, that just adds to the character :) NO TRADES PLEASE. Overseas buyers are welcome to bid. This 1959 Apache 3100 Shortbed is the best example of an untouched survivor you will ever find. I have NEVER seen another like it in my lifetime. Original survivor cars and trucks will always be my favorite. TERMS AND CONDITIONS: I require a $1,000 non-refundable PayPal deposit immediately upon auction's end. The final purchase price of the 1959 Apache Short-bed 3100 will be due and paid in full within (3) business days via bank deposit or wire transfer. Once the funds clear, we will forward you the title and the 1959 Apache Short-bed 3100 will be released to the new owner. The final payment MUST be verified and cleared by our bank prior to releasing the truck. Please, do not bid if you are not a serious buyer and do not have funds readily available. As a bidder, you are urged to inspect and/or ask any questions prior to making a bid. Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee teases return with a Countach
Fri, May 29 2015Unless you have an intense aversion to Jerry Seinfeld, it's hard not to find something to like about his show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. After all, the series combines funny people telling often hilarious stories while riding in ridiculously cool vehicles. The trailer for the sixth season is now online, and based on this tease, this definitely looks worth watching no matter what part of the videos interest you. Of course, it's the automotive portion that really grabs us, and Seinfeld has quite a fleet to showcase for season six. The trailer shows off a Lamborghini Countach, a '57 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible, a classic Volkswagen Beetle in the green and white German Polizei livery, a Morgan, an Aston Martin DB5, and a Ferrari 308. On the more humorous side of things, the guest list at least includes Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jim Carrey, Steve Harvey, Stephen Colbert, Bill Maher and upcoming host of The Daily Show Trevor Noah. Season six of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee premieres on Crackle on Wednesday, June 3, at 11:30 PM ET.
GM cutting production at two plants
Thu, Feb 26 2015General Motors is continuing to adjust to excess supply of some of its brands' models. To get production more in line with the vehicles' actual demand, the automotive giant is idling two of its factories in North America in the coming months. The Orion Assembly plant is going to be down from March 9-13, according to an anonymous plant worker and another insider speaking to Automotive News. The factory builds the Chevrolet Sonic and Buick Verano, but there are plenty of both models sitting on dealer lots, including 216 days worth of Sonics, according to AN. The factory already had two idle periods announced to reduce the excess. In addition, downtime is scheduled at GM's "Flex" line at the Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, plant from April 13-17. This affects supply of the Chevrolet Camaro, Impala, Buick Regal and Cadillac XTS. Among them, the automotive giant has the largest supply of Regals ready for dealers with 213 days worth of them, according to AN. The future for the whole Oshawa factory is cloudy in general, though. There are rumors that it could close entirely in the future because the Camaro is leaving and the Regal and XTS might not last much longer than 2017. The Canadian government and the labor union there intend to put up a fight, though. GM cutting Chevy Sonic, Buick Verano production [UPDATE]
Sun, Jan 25 2015UPDATE: A previous version of this story indicated that Orion Assembly would be idled for seven weeks, from February 16 through April 6. This was incorrect. The factory will instead only be idled for the weeks of February 16 and April 6. The story has been edited to reflect this. General Motors has announced that the factory responsible for the Buick Verano and Chevrolet Sonic will be idled for the weeks of February 16 and April 6, with blame being placed on excess supply. The Orion Assembly plant, about 45 minutes north of GM's Renaissance Center headquarters, employs about 1,800 people, but they'll be given a pair of furloughs as inventories of the sub-compact Sonic and premium compact Verano reach 127 days and 84 days, respectively. That works out to 26,600 Chevys and 9,800 Buicks waiting for buyers. According to Automotive News, the compact Chevy sales bested the industry average in 2014, jumping up nine percent versus the the overall segment's eight-percent gain, while the Buick sedan's sales were down four percent. When asked about the shutdown, a GM spokesman told AN that it will "build to market demand," while also pointing out that the company did not comment on production plans.
