Up for auction we have a 1958 Chevy Apache project truck. This truck was pulled out of a field, put in a garage, dissasembled, and sat with hopes of restoration, then I purchased it, let it sit for a little bit longer with hopes of restoration (which haven't happened as you can see), and now it's for sale. The truck has no title, which is why it is listed as salvage. Most of the truck is there, except the seat, steering column, original behind the seat fuel tank, bed, and drivetrain. Please look at the pics for more details, basically what you see is what you get. I do have the front and rear glass but it is not pictured. The truck has great patina for a rat rod or custom build! I originally planned to swap it onto an s-10 frame and use a short bed I had left over from another truck to build a neat rat rod. Overall the truck isn't terrible, but just needs someone who is willing to either restore it or build something out of it. Bid early and bid often, these trucks bring a pretty penny when restored and are arguably one of the most stylish trucks Chevy ever built, plus they are getting harder to find! Thanks for looking! Cash only upon time of pickup. Truck is located in Bally PA 19503. Payment and pickup due within 7 days of the auction's end. I may be able to deliver this for a fee but please ask before bidding. I have a loader to load it onto your trailer or rollback. Truck is dissasembled, so a pickup with a trailer would probably be ideal. Please ask any questions prior to bidding, truck is sold as-is. Thanks! |

2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.
Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards
Fri, 22 Feb 2013The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.

GM claims it's first to sell million 30+ mpg vehicles
Fri, 04 Jan 2013As we continue to put together all the data for the year-end edition of By The Numbers, General Motors has announced that it sold more than a million vehicles in the US last year that achieved at least 30 miles per gallon on the highway. More impressively, GM managed this feat using multiple strategies including small vehicle size, turbocharged engines and hybrid or plug-in technologies across four brands (Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC) accounting for 13 separate models. This number will grow even more in 2013 thanks to cars like the all-electric Spark, the diesel Cruze, the range-extended Cadillac ELR and the Buick Encore compact CUV.
GM's small car sales were up 39 percent last year helping to attain this million-sales mark for 30-mpg models, and almost 40 percent of all GM sales consisted of cars with fuel-efficient I4 engines. In regards to more advanced means of improving fuel economy, GM says that it plans on having 500,000 vehicles with "some form of electrification" on the road by 2017.
