1957 Chevy Stepside Pickup (from Deep South) on 2040-cars
Paris, Michigan, United States
This is a 1957 chevy 3200 stepside truck I bought from an 85 year old man north of Little Rock. it has 70,785 miles on the body but a more modern 1967 6cyl was put in it. The truck has never been in a northern winter or around salt! The wood in the bed is real good with no rot and the truck only has pin holes on the bottom of the front fenders and no filler I can find anywhere else. There is a dent on the front rt fender and smaller one on the rt rear fender. The tailgate has normal dings and dents in it. The floors and rockers have no rust and are original. This truck needs a paint job as you can see in the pictures but is a really close to rust free solid good driving truck. It shifts out like it is supposed to and the brakes stop good. I just put new good year white lettered tires on it and a new electric fuel pump, new gas sending unit, oil change. The engine has a knock in it when it gets good and warmed up but does not smoke. I do have another motor from my other 57 truck that is I think from 1957 but would have to check the numbers to be sure. I would include that with this auction if wanted. All the gauges seem to work fine and all are clear not cloudy. The vent glass in both doors has bubbles between the inside and outside of the glass. There is no cracked glass but the windshield has clouding around some of it. The chrome is nice on it and all there. The grill and bumpers are real good. This is just an exceptional truck that is even clean not crusty under the body and on the frame. I am listing this unpainted only because some people like to see things not covered up or hidden. I have tried to give an accurate description but it is so very hard on older vehicles so ask any questions you like. I want the buyer to be happy! Delivery is available to some places so ask first please.

Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs
Sun, 01 Dec 2013
The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.
Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
