Wow. Southern California AAA Emergency Service Patrol Truck. Painstakingly detailed to original specs from photos and information provided from the archives of the SOCAL AAA Club. Nothing was overlooked and no expense was spared during the 2 year frame off restoration of one of the most popular and iconic trucks GM ever made.
Most sought after options: 265 V8, Hydramatic, power steering, and rare power brake option.
0 miles since finished, you can see from the pictures that everything has either been replaced, rechromed, rebuilt, painted, buffed, polished or shined. Even the spare(not shown) is a brand new matching wide whitewall bias ply tire.
Records provided to the owner show that only 12 of these trucks were specially outfitted to the requirements specified by AAA. We are not sure if this was one of them but it could be. The L in the VIN denotes the Cameo was built at the Los Angeles factory. The serial #'s of those special trucks were never recorded so no one will ever know for sure. For more info just Google Chevy Cameo AAA.
And now a little information about the owner/restorer. Dave Smart is well know in the area as the go to person when it comes to 1955-57 Chevy/GMC trucks. He has personally restored several models from that era and this one happens to be his 3rd 1957 Cameo project that he has been involved in. You can be assured of the quality and correctness of his work.
Bidders, it is safe to assume there will never be another opportunity to buy a truck like this again. So don't miss out, especially since the high bidder could own her for as little as the opening bid, $30,000, since this is a NO RESERVE AUCTION!!! Far, far below the cost and time of the restoration. Of course at that low price the Cameo will need some minor adjustments such as final adj. of the doors and fenders, tune up, wiper arms installed, and electrical connections to the lights.
Full payment is due via bank wire or cash in person within 72 hours, time being of the essence, or the Cameo will be relisted. There is no deposit.
And finally. I am listing this Cameo for Dave. If you have any questions please call him @ 603-234-6798. DO NOT email me as I will not be able to answer any of your concerns.

Amelia Island 2013: Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray from concepts to split windows
Wed, 13 Mar 2013While this year marks 60 years of the Chevrolet Corvette, the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance focused on one of the coupe's most sought after models, the 1963 Sting Ray. General Motors design boss Ed Welburn was on hand to show off the all-new C7 Corvette, but even the hard-edged styling of the 2014 Stingray couldn't take away from the beautiful 1963 models sitting out on the field.
In addition to the original Sting Ray and the 1959 Sting Ray Concept, some of the other classic 'Vettes included "Big Tank" racecars, an interesting cutaway coupe, a right-hand-drive Z06 and the attention-grabbing 1963 Corvette Rondine by Pininfarina. Another impressive Corvette was the 1964 Corvette XP-819 rear-engine prototype. Owner Mike Yager had the car finished as a driving chassis for this year's show, but promises the car will be back to its original glory in time for next year's event.
GM recalls Colorado, Canyon, and Malibu for airbag problem
Wed, Mar 9 2016The Basics: General Motors will recall and issue a stop sale on 1,740 total examples of the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, Malibu, and GMC Canyon. This includes 1,579 units in the US and 161 in Canada. The Problem: The second stage of the driver front airbag inflator might not be present. If this happens, the airbag won't fill as quickly as it should in a high-speed crash, which could increase the risk of injury, according to Reuters. This is not related in any way to Takata's inflator problems, and these parts come from a different supplier. Injuries/Deaths: None reported. The Fix: GM will replace the vehicles' airbag assemblies. If You Own One: GM spokesperson Tom Wilkinson told Autoblog he wasn't specifically sure when recall repairs would begin but said it would be "shortly." He expects the fixes to happen "quickly" because of the small number of affected vehicles, and many of them are either in transport or already in dealer stock. More Information: GM recalled the 2015 Canyon and Colorado in 2014 for a completely separate airbag issue. In that case, a manufacturing error improperly wired the connectors. Related Video: GM Statement GM is recalling 1,579 MY 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Malibu vehicles in the United States and 161 in Canada to replace driver-side front airbags. The second stage of the airbag may not deploy properly in certain high-speed crashes. During a routine quality inspection, it was determined that a component required for a second-stage/high-output deployment was not loaded during the inflator build. Dealers will replace the driver-side front airbag assembly. There have been no reports of crashes or injuries related to this issue. This issue is unrelated to the ongoing Takata recalls.
GM cutting back on powertrain warranty citing lack of interest
Thu, Mar 12 2015Generally, when a manufacturer offers a long, high-mileage warranty, it's a sign that it stands behind its products. On top of that, it's generally a selling point for consumers, who can rest easy knowing that any catastrophic failures will be picked up by the manufacturer. Considering those facts, it does seem rather strange that General Motors is slashing the mileage warranty on model year 2016 vehicles from Chevrolet and GMC. Instead of offering consumers a 100,000-mile warranty, GM will now only offer a powertrain warranty up to 60,000 miles. The five-year warranty period, though, remains unchanged. GM will also cut the number of free services being offered to Chevy and GMC owners, as well as Buick drivers, from four to two. "Through research, we have determined that when purchasing a new vehicle, included maintenance and warranty rank low on the list of reasons why consumers consider a particular brand over another," explained a memo sent to dealers by Chevrolet VP Brian Sweeney and his GMC counterpart, Duncan Aldred, and obtained by Automotive News. "As a result, we have benchmarked our competitors, reviewed our current offerings and have concluded the following modifications to align closely with our customers' needs and expectations." While the move might seem odd, Sweeney and Aldred are right – according to Automotive News, Ford, Honda and Toyota each offer a five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty. As for what the money saved by trimming the powertrain warranty will go towards, a GM spokesperson simply told AN that the company will "reinvest the savings we will realize into other retail programs," some of which have been requested by consumers. What are your thoughts? Would a 40,000-mile reduction in a new vehicle's powertrain really turn you off from buying one? Even if it matched its competitors? Is GM better off spending its money elsewhere? Have your say in Comments.
