1955 Chevy 3100 SHORT BED BIG WINDOW DELUXE CAB!!
VERY RARE STAINLESS STEEL TRIM ON OUTSIDE OF CAB!

You found it, the barn find you have been looking for!  This is a ONE owner truck since it was bought new in Wildomar, CA.  The original owner died in 1970 while in the beginning process of a restoration and installing a V8, he had removed the original engine and trans and was in the process of looking for a motor when he passed away, the truck has less than 67k original miles.  His son transferred the truck into his name in June of 1970 (look at the pics of the title) and had it stored in a sealed container on the family property in Wildomar.  Sometime in the 90's when they sold the property the truck was delivered to his home in Burbank, CA where it sat in his garage until 3/24/14 when I pulled it out.

It is completely original and rust free (except for front bottom of cab both sides as shown in pics) with a clean solid frame and floors.  The dash is in excellent condition and uncut.  The rear cab corners were professionally changed out as seen in the pics before the owner died, they did an amazing job.  All the rain gutters are clean and rust free as are the window seals.  The truck seems to have one re-paint in that strange greenish gold color you see now, the original color from what I can tell seems to be red.  All the glass is excellent.

This truck has the VERY RARE deluxe cab with the stainless steel trim on the outside of the cab.  The trim is all there and in excellent condition as can be seen in the pics.  You can not find these trucks with the trim option much less with all the trim in this amazing condition.  The original bench seat needs to be rebuilt but is all there and complete as seen in the pics.  The original instrument cluster showing the original mileage is in perfect working order and fantastic condition.  The truck also has all the original hood latch components and original radiator with support bar.

Please feel free to call me anytime with questions.
Thanks for looking and good luck!

Should heavy-duty pickup trucks have window stickers with fuel mileage estimates?

Sat, Sep 23 2017

If you were to stroll into your nearest Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan, or Ram dealership, you'd find a bunch of pickup trucks. Most of those would have proper window stickers labeled with things like base prices, options prices, location of manufacture, and, crucially, fuel economy estimates. But you'd also run across a number of heavy-duty trucks with no such fuel mileage data from the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA doesn't require automakers to publish the valuable miles-per-gallon measurement for vehicles with gross weight ratings that exceed 8,500 pounds. That makes it difficult for consumers to compare behemoths powered by turbocharged diesel engines – between one another, and between smaller, gasoline-fueled trucks. Consumer Reports doesn't think it should be this way, and it's spearheading an effort (PDF link) to get the government to require manufacturers to publish fuel economy estimates. In its own testing, CR found that heavy-duty pickups powered by Ford's Power Stroke, GM's Duramax, and FCA's Cummins diesel engines (which doesn't include the Ram's EcoDiesel) get worse fuel mileage than their lighter-duty gas-powered siblings. We're not so sure HD-truck buyers are unaware of this fact – big diesels don't really come into their own until big loads are placed in their beds or attached to their trailer hitches. Under heavy workloads, the diesel trucks will almost certainly return greater efficiency than a similar gas-powered truck. What's more, HD trucks with lumbering diesels in general make the driver feel more confident while towing due to greater torque at low engine RPM than gas trucks. They also offer greater max-weight limits. Still, we agree EPA fuel mileage estimates should be offered for heavy-duty pickups. And we think the comparisons provided by Consumer Reports might be interesting to potential buyers. Click here to see the results of CR's tests, and let us know what you think using the poll below. GM posts $4 billion third-quarter profit thanks to trucks and SUVs

Thu, Nov 5 2020

DETROIT — General Motors is posting huge third quarter numbers, pulling in $4 billion in profit over three months after losing money due to the virus outbreak. GM's adjusted earnings were $2.83 per share, easily outpacing Wall Street's per-share projections of $1.43, according to a survey by FactSet. Revenue of $35.5 billion also edged out most expectations. Shares jumped almost 6% before the opening bell Thursday. The company swung back from a $806 million loss in the second quarter, when it was restarting factories shuttered for safety during the early stages of the pandemic. The Detroit automaker joined most global automakers in reporting better-than-expected earnings from July through September as sales across the globe started to rebound from coronavirus lockdowns, especially in China. GM sales in China jumped 12% in the third quarter, with sales of its Buick and Cadillac brands both rising more than 25%. In the U.S., GMÂ’s most profitable market, sales fell 9.9% in the third quarter compared with a year ago, but were a dramatic improvement over the 34% drop in the second quarter. Sales improved sequentially each month, the automaker said, an encouraging trend. GMÂ’s profit was boosted by higher-priced pickup trucks and large SUVs, which have seen strong sales in the U.S. through the pandemic. It was the best quarter on record for GM's Chevrolet Blazer. Sales of the Cadillac XT6 spiked 45% in the U.S. over last year. Large pickups also sold well. GM also said it was pumping $2 billion into its Spring Hill, Tennessee manufacturing plant to push its transition to produce electric vehicles. Last week, crosstown rivals Fiat Chrysler and Ford reported strong third-quarter net income. FCA said it made $1.4 billion for the period, while Ford earned $2.39 billion.
