1955 Chevrolet Pickup.....350 V8 Enginge.....automatic Transmission on 2040-cars
Athens, Tennessee, United States
|
SHORT DISCRIPTION: For your consideration I'm selling a 1955 Chevrolet pickup, lots of money has been spent on this truck. It has a very good body, 350 V8 engine that runs good, Turbo 350 automatic transmission, new glass all around, new chrome bumpers and grill, 10 bolt rear-end, leather bucket seats, 5 lug Rally wheels, bed wood is OK, but needs refinished. The paint is very weak, it needs a paint job, I'll tell more details in my long description. 1955 trucks are hot, its hard to find a great deal and its even harder to find a decent body, this truck is not a perfect 100 point show truck, its a drivable truck that's worth improving. PHOTOS....PICTURES::::: 24 pictures are on this listing, ebay motors makes them hard to find, just look at the picture section and use the scroll on the right side to find more. VIN: 3A55S143704 MIEAGE: 33,208 reading and I'm sure it has turned, so add at least another 100,000 to that. TITLE: Clear Kentucky title in hand. HISTORY: None that I can document, the title just states that the car was registered in Glasgow, Kentucky. Past owner just gave up when he got the truck in the condition it is now. ...................................................................................................................................................................................... The flowing information is long and detailed if you still have interest!
WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM: My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of
WILL I SELL THE CAR OFF EBAY MOTORS? Yes, I know the lots of you are not registered on ebay and use it as a research tool.
MY REAL PRICE IS $11,800.That's what it takes to buy the truck on or off ebay motor. I have been doing this for a long time and I know the game, I don't play it the same as most and I sell every vehicle I put for sell.
PLEASE NO TRADES!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you, but I will not trade, why should I trade when I have a hot selling car, I don't need motor cycles, boats, jewelry or your used false teeth.
I DO NOT SHOW CARS ON SUNDAY!!!!! I worship on sunday, I spend time with my family and I rest. I'm doing this because I love it, "I need a day off". I will be happy to show you cars 6 days a week, call in advance to set up a time, "I'm 67 years old and life is more than just cars".
Sorry, but I do not do videos. I'm old and don't want to learn and mess with them, I sell my cars anyway.
IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEMS? The truck is about as solid as you will find, no rusted holes in the body and the underside looks good, its just not detailed for show.
IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE? None that I can find and the title states none. WHY AM I SELLING THIS truck? I’m a retired mechanic/auto-mechanic instructor/was a Army helicopter mechanic and instructor. When I find a truck or car I like for a good price I buy it fix things and resell for a fair profit. I did not restore this car, I just fixed a few things.
IS THIS A MATCHING NUMBERS TRUCK? No, it is not a matching number. I did not check the engine casting numbers, the past owner said the engine was a 350 and the transmission is a Turbo 350 automatic.
PAINT: The paint is old and weak on a good body, the truck needs a paint job. The body is straight, no big dents, some small dings, the paint has scratches and is thin. Past owner touched up some flaking paint places with a darker green. If you want a 55 that does not need paint or anything this is not it.
CHROME: The chrome and bright work is nice, the bumpers and grill look new, the rest is good.
INTERIOR: No smoke smell, the seats are decent leather buckets, they are electric, to be honest I did not check to see if they are hooked up, they are all the back and that's the way I like them.
RADIO: After market not working. UNSERSIDE: Solid, but not painted shinny to put mirrors under at the car show. GLASS: Look like a new glass kit all around. ENGINE: Engine runs very good, no knocks or pings and no bad oil leaks. Past owner said it was a 350 cubic inch.
EXHAUST SYSTEM: Good, full tube headers that are not coated, good pipes with dual glass packs. TRANSMISSION: It shifts good with no slip, it a Turbo 350 3 speed automatic, the shifter works fine, but I would replace it with a nice long rod Lokar. REAR-END: It has no bearing noises, no growls, its a good highway gearing, its a 10 bolt. BRAKES: Drums all around and not power. STEERING: The truck drives very good, it is not power steering and has play in the steering gear.
WHEELS AND TIRES: Rally wheels that are in nice condition, they are 5 lug.
LIGHTS: Headlights work, tail lights work, brake lights work, turn signals work, but you have to hold drivers side up a little.
GUAGES: Gas gauge is not working. Speedometer is not working.
Wipers are not working!
HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE and panel fit? I think the doors fit and open very good, the hood and trunk fit good for the year.
WOULD I DRIVE THE TRUCK HOME ON A LONG TRIP: I never recommend driving a old VEHICLE home, I just test drive them and drive them some around town, but I do think this car would drive anywhere.
WHY DON'T I FIX EVERYTHING: It runs the cost up and I have too many projects started.
TRADES: Please no trades, they never work out and are just to hard!
CONTACT INFO: my cell is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about cell 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com
PAPERWORK: I know what to do! WE DO NOT HAVE A SHOW ROOM WITH OVERHEAD! We are just a father/son 2 man operation, but we are a THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the vehicle “come look”. I RESERVE TH RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED: The car is here at my garage in US OR EXPORT "Nations Auto Transport" is located in the Kansas City area: This is a good company that will handle any type of transport in the Call Jim Page....his work number is 816-295-6887 and his email is jpage@shipnat.com MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for PAYMENT: I require a $250 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car. I will take this by PayPal, but not full payment. Option 1: Pay the old school way with green face to face. Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the most checks clear, I have had a fake bank certified check. I will take a bank cashiers check with lots of identification and advance notice so I can check you out. Option 3: The safest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a member of the transfer. I will not give out my banking information until I get your information. INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspections are required to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 67 year old car restorer, please come and judge it for your self. I judge the car to my standards, this may not be yours. Paid inspectors are fine with me, but they can make a good vehicle sound bad. They have to be very critical to cover their back sides. I understand how hard it is to buy a car without looking, but I think you should come look yourself. I don’t like paid inspectors, I like for the person that is buying to inspect for themselves. I think its fine to send a friend to inspect for you. To make it clear, don’t hit the buy now button and then inspect, come inspect first, I will not stop the listing and wait for a inspector! TRADES: Please no trades!
I do not finance cars! If your going to finance, get pre-approved.
BOTTOM LINE: My price is really $11,800, I am firm and asking more on the local market. The game is not rocket science, ask a price and come down, but I don't like that game. It’s not fun to bargain over the cell phone all day long with people that live 2000 miles away and are not going to buy anyway. My firm price is the Buy Now price. I have sold every car I have ever tried to, so I’m not motivated to be bargained down.
PLEASE!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! Come look at this vehicle. Please don’t hit the Buy Now button unless your ready to really buy it! Do your research, call me with questions, read my feed backs, I am ebay verified; this means they say I’m a real person in a real place. I WILL BE VERY HAPPY TO SELL YOU THE VEHICLE WITH-OUT AN INSPECTION; YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE A Read the ME section on the upper right hand part of the listing marked seller info. Thank You, Ron Watson cell: 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com IS THERE A WARRANTY? No! Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type, they are the way I see the vehicle. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected this vehicle and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value and to purchase based upon that judgment solely. NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall
Wed, 13 Mar 2013
The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
"Turbo" Chevrolet Camaro is a 700-HP fantasy car come to life [w/video]
Thu, 07 Feb 2013For a concept car built to promote an animated movie about a snail that wants to go racing, this thing ain't half bad. The outsized monster you see before you started life as a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and then went through a big-time Hollywood makeover before being positioned on the Chevrolet stand here in Chicago.
This 2013 "Turbo" Camaro Coupe is getting the promotion machine ratcheted up for a new DreamWorks tale by the name of, you guessed it, Turbo. Coming this summer, the movie will follow one snail's quest to become a race driver worthy of making the cut at the Indy 500. Like many DreamWorks vehicles before it, we're guessing that the petrolhead snail will star in a movie that adults (especially racing fans) with have no trouble watching with their kids. Check out the trailer below to see if you agree.
As for the car, we're told that it is "instrumental" in transforming Turbo from snail into racer. Helping the beastly pony car in this mighty task, is an ankle-cracking front splitter matched by a ungodly huge rear wing out back, a COPO hood and a supercharged (yes, supercharged) V8 engine making more than 700 horsepower. 24-inch wheels all the way around - 10-inches wide in front and 15-inches wide in back - should allow the "Turbo" Camaro to hook up with ease, as well.
Thanks for keeping us on our toes, Detroit Auto Show [w/poll]
Wed, Jan 14 2015Here at Autoblog, we love unexpected debuts at auto shows – and judging by our Detroit Auto Show comments and traffic, you do, too. Surprise reveals have been fewer and farther between in recent years with so many ways for vehicles to be teased or leak out, but this week's show has been a revelation. More to the point, it's been a series of revelations, with automakers from around the globe successfully delivering a brace of concept and production surprises. It's made our jobs a lot more exciting and challenging this week, and even though it's actually more work to react and run-and-gun when the sheet is pulled on a surprise reveal than it is to publish an already-written embargoed story, we've had more fun covering this show for you than any domestic show in memory. We hope you've enjoyed the surprises along with us. To that end, borrowing the words of an unnamed automaker PR flack, we'd like to thank the following automakers for enduring "mountain of antacids" and that "creeping sense of paranoia" necessary to keeping ones' wares totally under wraps until the sheets are pulled off the sheetmetal: Buick Avenir concept Chevrolet Bolt concept Ford GT concept Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Hyundai HCD-15 Santa Cruz concept And while we're at it, we'd like to throw in an shout-out to Detroit's substantially revised and revitalized Cobo Center, and in particular, the redone Michelin media center, which is arguably the single best accommodations for writing show stories that we've encountered on the entire international circuit. Well done, everyone. Thank you, and keep the surprises coming. Auto News Detroit Auto Show Buick Chevrolet Ford Hyundai Volvo 2015 Detroit Auto Show
