This 1954 Chevrolet 3100 Short box Stepside sits on a 1976 K5 Blazer frame. The frame has been stretched is in excellent shape. The truck has lots of new parts; rockers, cab corners, floor pans, inner kick panels, outer cowls, handles, weatherstripping, front windshield, back windshield, side windows, vent windows, etc. The engine, transmission, and rear end have been painted and are in great condition and look fantastic. The suspension is on the frame and is complete, and will only need a bit of touch-up paint to be showroom quality. The cab has been sand blasted, but has developed some surface rust due to moisture buildup in the storage garage. The box has developed similar surface rust on the corners, but all in all the truck is in good shape and is ready for a restoration. The body is complete, the frame is in great shape and is rust-free, all it will need is paint work, interior, and miscellaneous smaller bits to make a fantastic, head turning hot-rod. I'm selling it because I bought 3 with the intent to restore all of them, finished restoring one as a hot rod, and the ball-and-chain said I had to get rid of the rest.
Also included in the sale is your choice of a bench seat (1950s era) or a pair of bucket seats (from 89 S10 Blazer) and the gauges for this truck (54 pickup).

Valet mode captures joyride in red Corvette
Thu, Dec 18 2014A man in California is among the first to catch a valet behaving badly in his 2015 Corvette using a controversial built-in recording feature. Dan Cowles told KTLA 5 when he bought his dream car, a 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, he opted for the Performance Data Recorder. The Corvette PDR uses a high-definition camera mounted in the windshield header, a microphone in the cabin and a GPS receiver that record and track the sports car's movements and sounds. They work together to produce a video with telemetry overlay, so you can see acceleration rates, lap times and g-forces. The system can be customized to show extensive performance data, or simply video of your drive like a traditional dash cam. It also comes with Valet Mode, which locks the glove box, disables entertainment and records video. The audio recording feature ran afoul of several state's recording consent laws, but this video has no audio, indicating the fix may have been as easy as turning off the microphone. Cowles dropped off his hot red 'Vette with the valets at the Segerstrom Center for the Performing Arts in Costa Mesa, CA. When he got his car back he checked the PDR and discovered footage of the valet taking a short, but intense, joyride in the garage. In the video, the valet finds a straightaway in a tiered parking garage and pushes the car to 50 miles per hour in five seconds before quickly stopping. He then parks the car without incident. The valet then gets out of the car and takes one more admiring look at the front. The valet company has yet to commented on the video, according to Fox News, but valets everywhere should be on notice; that little red Corvette you have your eye on may have its eyes on you. GM to squeeze out more production capacity for midsize trucks
Tue, May 26 2015General Motors was predicting a strong showing for the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon before they debuted, and demand among dealers for the midsize trucks even exceeded company's expectations. The positive situation has left GM with a problem, though: finding ways to increase capacity for the pickups at the Wentzville Assembly plant in Missiouri. With a third shift already running, GM has continued to look for ways to build just a few more of the trucks at the plant. The company has plans to hire as many as 1,000 more workers for the Saturday and Sunday shifts to construct an additional 2,000 pickups a month, according to unnamed insiders at the factory speaking to Automotive News. The little adjustments even extend to getting rid of an unpaid break to add 18 minute of assembly time over the course of a day, which equals about 3,500 more vehicles a year. All of this effort comes because the trucks are in such high demand. According to GM's figures, the company has delivered a combined 35,720 units of the Colorado and Canyon from January through April 2015, and the Chevy was the fastest-selling truck in the US for the previous three months. In May, it spent an average of just 12 days in showrooms before being snapped up. And even better for the company, 43 percent of these buyers came from other brands. According to Automotive News, the most popular trade-ins have included the Ford F-150, Toyota Tacoma, and Dodge Dakota. Related Video:
