1952 Chevrolet Pickup was originally 3/4 Ton my grandpa made into 1 Ton. He also made truck into a flat bed.  Auction comes with original bed if you would like it, it was made into trailer as seen in pics. The horse hauler part is on truck now they hauled 4 horses at a time in it roof needs repair its missing this is included too if you would like this comes off with bolts. There is also a hoist its a tripod attaches to flatbed as seen in pics. All included if you would like. Will need work to restore everything is there though.  Has 261 Inline 6 and 4 speed tranny with Watson Heavy Duty 2 speed tranny This unit is designed to provide a half gear between 1 & 2 and 3 & 4th....so you end up having 1...1 1/2.....2.....2 1/2....3.....3 1/2....4....4 1/2. So if you are hauling large loads or climbing mountains this auxiliary transmission would provide you with the gears you need to tow effectively. These units are no longer available from Watson and are very hard to find. This was my grandmothers she passed and we are settling her estate. Actual mileage is unknown. Has been sitting a long time, but was running when parked. Fan blades do turn.  Inside cab is hole behind seat as pictured. Back glass is cracked as well as glass in door I think it has been glued but it has crack.

Veyron and C7 Corvette join cast of Transformers 4

Wed, 29 May 2013

Like the Fast & Furious franchise, the Michael Bay-directed series of Transformers movies has become known as much for its bad acting as its impressive lineup of cars. As filming just started for Transformers 4, Bay's website has confirmed two new cars for the next installment as well as a makeover for everyone's favorite tractor trailer hero, Optimus Prime.
Joining the cast of T4 are a "race-inspired" Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse. While Bay's website did not supply names for either car, Bugatti is reporting on its Facebook page that the Veyron will join the Autobots. Speaking of the good guys, top Autobot Optimus Prime is getting an all-new body based on a Western Star with a gaudy appearance that was seemingly inspired by Trick My Truck - right down to the six smoke stacks and side pipes!

Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.
