1951 Chevrolet Truck 3600 Standard Cab Pickup 2-door 3.8l on 2040-cars
Little Elm, Texas, United States
This is my driver quality 1951 Chevrolet 3600!
This restomod has all original Sheet metal aside from the front of the bed. It
has been equipped with some nice new age additions. With the stance it drives
and feels more like a Chevy 3100 but with the harder to find 3600 titling. It
does have a clear title in my name. The paint is metallic midnight blue and It
was painted in sections and not as just a overcoat on top of assembled metal. Every
piece was painted individually. It is not a show car that is 10/10 for every
aspect, But with that said, this is a driver truck that I am not selling for
45k. This is a truck you can drive and enjoy. “ I don’t want a gun I can’t shoot, or a truck
I cant drive”. The grill, running boards, fenders, hood and tailgate are all
original and there is no fiberglass anywhere on this truck. All Rot has been
cut out patched appropriately The motor is a 235
inline 6 that is in excellent shape from a 1954 Chevy when pulling the engine
code and it is still a 3 speed manual transmission from the factory. It does
have a Rochester B Carb that has been rebuilt with a brand new choke cable. The
distributer was rebuilt and works great As you can see in the pictures truck has been upgraded with
a front end disk brake kit that is brand new including brake lines and it has
been converted to Chevy 5 lug in the front and 74 Chevy Nova in the rear. The
driveshaft has been modified to work with the nova rear end as well. Brand new
shocks as well. Even though it has a retrofitted rear end I purchase a Lokar E-brake conversion cable kit that hooks up the original parking brake setup to this rear end. You will NOT find many older trucks with working parking brake cables like this one. it is hooked up. needs to be adjusted but installed. It has a brand new 2
Bore brake master cylinder with prop valve as well. No more unsafe 1 bore
master cylinder. All of the brake line has been converted to nickel copper
brake line as well. The gauges are original and aside from running lights are not hooked up at this time. , but the car is sitting on a brand
new 12 volt harness and ignition switch for that modern charge and convenience.
I also added turn signal switch to this truck so you can have some modern convenience
in a old time ride. Brand new tail lights with incorporated license plate
bracket for that nice clean look It also has a brand new complete wood bed kit that includes
wood, bolts, angle bars, and metal slats. And bed blocks. The wood has been
Minwax polyurethaned to keep it looking awesome for years to come. I have also
created a Wood Bed Rail Kit that is Minwaxed to match the wood Bed that I find
very sharp looking. Sitting on a brand new set of 17x7 inch Riddler rims and
tires. Black Seat on Original frame in Very nice shape. It also has
a Original Steering wheel, Radio bezel, and glove box. New headliner, door
panels, speedo cable, turn signal switch, headlights, headlight bezels and
gaskets, wiring harness, shifter head, and tail lights. Another perk is all of the glass has been removed and
replaced with new original style green tinted glass. The headliner is brand
new, and so are the door panels. Gas tank is original style and is brand new. No rusty gas in
this bad boy. Inside and outside are all painted midnight metallic blue and the
frame is painted black I have put allot of love time and money into this truck and
I am sad to see it go, but as life throws us curveballs it is just one of those
things that has to happen. There are a few things you can add yourself to spruce it up, but I have decided to leave off due to me needing to sell it. : gauges need to be hooked up to work, horn doesn't work, there is no exhaust. there Is a pipe that goes from exhaust to bottom of truck, but that's it . there are runs in the paint. paint is a 7/10 shape in my opinion Obviously this is a classic truck and is sold As IS Where
is.. But you will not be disappointed in this buy. You must arrange the transportation and pay for that
yourself, but I will assist the delivery company with loading if they require
it. This is a great truck. I hope it sees allot of road time because old trucks are meant to be driven, not stored. I can purchase and install a new aftermarket gauges if that is a major deal breaker, but I will go up on the sales price. |

These cars are headed to the Great Crusher In The Sky
Fri, 24 Aug 2012It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).
Check out our gallery of discontinued cars above, then scroll down for more information.

2016 Chevy Volt will not need premium gas
Wed, Oct 29 2014Buried in the new technical details of the 2016 Chevy Volt released yesterday was a throwaway line about a small but important change that's due to the new 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. The first-gen Volt has always required premium gas but the new powerplant will be happy burning plain old regular. The Volt's chief engineer, Andrew Farah, told AutoblogGreen that the change was due to today's Volt owners explaining they were not happy paying for top-shelf petroleum. "The ability to use regular unleaded was based directly on customer feedback," he said. "Since the range extender is an all-new engine, it was optimized to use regular unleaded at the outset. Using regular fuel will not have effect on vehicle acceleration or other performance factors." As Larry Nitz, GM's executive director of vehicle electrification, told AutoblogGreen yesterday, the new engine is more powerful and quieter than the outgoing 1.4-liter engine that's used in the current Volt. Fuel economy and EV range specs for the next-gen Volt are not expected until the full car is revealed at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
