1950 Coe Chevrolet Wrecker on 2040-cars
Bartow, Florida, United States
I have for sale is a 1950 COE Chevrolet truck on a E350 cutaway frame truck.
Very heavy duty suspension. I had new 13 leaf springs added to the rear recently before I started the conversion about $700.00 The truck has a 302 cid fuel injected engine and C-6. I have drove this truck for years hauling cars everywhere and it has been one of the most reliable vehicles I have this is the reason I used it for the conversion. TRUCK IS NOT DRIVEABLE THIS MUST BE TOWED AT PRESENT TRUCK NEEDS TO BE FINISHED! The bed is a Hodges made bed professionally built just for hauling cars. There is a 20,000 pierce winch mounted on the bed. The bed is made of 1/4 inch diamond plate and the sides are as well. The truck is not finished at this moment but there could be an arrangement if this is what you would like to do or else it is (sold as-is where-is) All arrangements must be made prior to your final bid. I do not have to sell this I am just trying to cut down on my projects. I have way too many and many people have expressed desire to buy this truck. The vehicle is also available for sale locally so I reserve the right to end auction at anytime. Shipping is the responsibility of owner I will not ship unless all arrangements are made by purchaser. FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME FOR QUESTION BEFORE YOU BID. 863-398-7087 TEXT OR CALL. ED I apologize for anybody who was bidding on this before no Hocus pocus here. Ebay's helper forgot I wanted a reserve on this it has been dropped significantly. Also the truck to be finished needs steering column put in, wiring harness needs to be hung (Nothing was cut in the wiring when I started this. It is plug and play still.) The radiator is installed hoses need to be connected and I would flush and fill all the liquids including gas tanks. The fuel goes bad down here in florida quickly. I hope this helps everyone. Dimensions are as follows for shipping. L W H 26'x 8'3"x 7'3" On Apr-05-14 at 15:15:15 PDT, seller added the following information: I finally found what file I had all of the original photos in of the cab when I bought it. I hope this dispels any doubt that this isn't a clean cab. This is one of the cleanest cabs I have found or I wouldn't have committed to this undertaking. If the price gets closer to the amount I am looking for I will add a buy it now option. Happy bidding. On Apr-06-14 at 18:01:47 PDT, seller added the following information: **RESERVE HAS BEEN LOWERED AND A BUY IT NOW OPTION HAS BEEN ADDED!** On Apr-09-14 at 08:58:44 PDT, seller added the following information: Ok folks third time is a charm. I will not be listing this again. If it doesn't sell this trip, I'll be finishing it and driving it. Don't miss your chance to buy it this time. It didn't miss its reserve by much last time it brought $14,700. last time. Get up off that wallet if you really want something nice. Happy bidding. |

Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years [w/video]
Mon, 29 Apr 2013Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.
As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.
Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray
Fri, 25 Oct 2013We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.
Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
