1949 Chevrolet Pick-Up Street Rod
I traded for this truck about a month ago, and truthfully, it’s way too nice for me... I’ll tell you everything I can and know about it.
I have way too many projects and not enough room.... so I’m going to sell it, SORRY BUT... NO TRADES.
THIS TRUCK IS A NEW BUILD AND HAS 990 MILES ON IT SINCE COMPLETED!
1949 Chevy truck, 350 throttle body injected, automatic (turbo 400) all from a 1988 GMC Engine and transmission both fresh rebuilds. I drove the truck last weekend about 300 miles at 70-75mph with the air on and got 21mpg.
Everything is NEW....
The truck has a Camaro sub that has been completely rebuilt, disc brakes on the front, fresh Camaro rear axle, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, power windows, electric door poppers, leather interior, one piece fiberglass headliner covered in leather, oak floor, New Bed, Corvette style tail lights, Newport brand 2 speed self parking wipers, new gauges, Ididit column, billet half wrap steering wheel, Painless wiring, Lokar shifter and brake handle, Hidden Audio stereo, Sirius compatible with mp3 and smart phone conections, billet remote reservoir for brake master cylinder, factory GM serpentine belt drive system, billet valve covers & air cleaner, all new factory cut safety glass, one piece custom seamless windshield, Lizard skin inside and outside of the cab and much more!
EVERYTHING IS BRAND NEW ON THIS TRUCK!!!
PLEASE CALL ME WITH ANY OR ALL QUESTIONS 573-406-7573
Everything is name brand and of professional quality. A friend of mine built the truck, so I can’t take any credit for the build or the truck. I happen to be in the right place at the right time... I traded a car that I had to him, because his family grew, and the truck wasn’t big enough for the whole family...
The truck was a four year build and he used the BEST of everything and it shows.
I never asked my friend what he had in it, or what it cost to build this truck, but with my knowledge and experience in building, and buying street rods, I’m gonna estimate 25 to 30k just in parts alone.... like I said he used the best of everything.
He is an excellent fabricator, machinist and welder. This truck was built with great care for him and his family to enjoy, so safety along with quality was the goal, and it shows!
I drove the truck to St. Louis the other week at 70 & 75 mph all the way, and it drove like a dream. The air blew ice cold and it was 100 degrees outside. It is a quiet and solid ride... it was like driving a new truck.
I tried to be as honest as possible and tell you as much as I can, PLEASE call me 573-406-7573 with any questions you may have before bidding, I want you to have complete confidence in what you are bidding on.
With that being said, if you bid and win be prepared to buy! No Trades!
No tire kickers or gotta/shoulda asked my wife or husband... you bid, you buy, you own!!!
It truly is a great truck. It attracts more attention than you can imagine where ever you
take it. When you park it someplace you just stand back and watch the crowd gather.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE CALL ME 573-406-7573 or email me through ebay or my personal email: rmdesign@adams.net
The truck is For Sale, So Bid what YOU are comfortable with!
The truck has a very reasonable reserve on it! I'd like to sell it, but I don't need to sell it!
I will NOT tell you the reserve price so don't ask! Please, Do Not Call Just To Ask Me What The Reserve Is!
It’s MUCH easier for me to tell you about the car than to type it in this description If you bid and win...
be prepared to buy!!

A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is due within 24 hours of auction close. Balance is due before, or at time of

Crash victim found still inside car 6 hours after it was towed away [w/video]
Wed, Jan 7 2015Police near Dayton, OH, have quite a confusing case on their hands after the victim of a crash early on New Year's Day couldn't initially be found. Six hours later, the man was discovered lying on the vehicle's floorboard at the tow yard. The unidentified person was admitted to a local hospital in critical condition with possible leg injuries. The police first responded to the scene of the crash around 3:00 am on New Year's Day when a Chevrolet Impala hit a utility pole and drove through a fence, according to WHIO News. The authorities claim that they searched for the man for an hour and a half and came up with nothing. The car was then hauled away to the yard, which was only about 500 feet away. The tow yard worker found the man around 9:00 am and called 911. However, he was clearly dubious about the injured man's predicament and suggested to the operator that he might have returned to the Impala. Police are still investigating the incident. According to WHIO, authorities might have somehow missed the man in the sedan during the search. Alternatively, he could have left the scene of the accident and later returned. Watch the video below for more about this bizarre case. The video meant to be presented here is no longer available. Sorry for the inconvenience. Cruze Diesel Road Trip reveals the good and bad, but no ugly
Tue, Mar 31 2015Most of us have strong opinions on diesel-powered cars based on our perceptions of and experience with them. I used to thoroughly dislike oil burners for their noise, smoke and lackluster performance, and the fact that they ran on greasy, smelly stuff that was more expensive than gasoline, could be hard to find and was nasty to get on your hands when refueling. Those negatives, for me, trumped diesel's major positives of big torque for strong acceleration and better fuel economy. Are any of those knocks on diesel still valid today? I'm not talking semis, which continue to annoy me when their operators for some reason almost never shut them down. At any busy truck stop, the air seems always filled with the sound – and sometimes smell – of dozens of big-rig diesels idling endlessly and mindlessly. Or diesel heavy-duty pickups. Those muscular workhorses are far more refined than they once were and burn much less fuel than their gasoline counterparts. But good luck arriving home late at night, or departing early morning, without waking your housemates and neighbors with their clattery racket. No, I'm talking diesel-powered passenger cars, which account for more than half the market in Europe (diesel fuel is cheaper there) yet still barely bump the sales charts in North America. Diesel fuel remains more expensive here, too few stations carry it, and too many Americans remember when diesel cars were noisy, smelly slugs. Also, US emissions requirements make them substantially more expensive to certify, and therefore to buy. But put aside (if you can) higher vehicle purchase and fuel prices, and today's diesel cars can be delightful to drive while delivering much better fuel efficiency than gas-powered versions. So far in the US, all except Chevrolet's compact Cruze Diesel come from German brands, and all are amazingly quiet, visually clean (no smoke) and can be torquey-fun to drive. When a GM Powertrain engineering team set out to modify a tried-and-true GM of Europe turbodiesel four for North American Chevy Cruze compacts, says assistant chief engineer Mike Siegrist, it had a clear target in mind: the Volkswagen Jetta TDI 2.0-liter diesel. And they'll tell you that they beat it in nearly every way. "I believe we have a superior product," he says. "It's powerful, efficient and clean, and it will change perceptions of what a diesel car can be." The 2.0L Cruze turbodiesel pumps out 151 SAE certified horses and 264 pound-feet of torque (at just 2,000 rpm) vs.
New Takata problem results in recall of 414 GM vehicles
Mon, Oct 19 2015An airbag-inflator rupture discovered by Takata during testing has resulted in a new recall affecting 414 vehicles from General Motors, including 395 of them in the US. This latest campaign covers 2015 model-year examples of the Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac XTS, Chevrolet Camaro, Equinox, Malibu, and GMC Terrain. There are no reported breaks in any of these vehicles on the road, and the company estimates only one percent of them actually have the faulty parts. According to documents submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (as a PDF), one side-airbag inflator failed a cold test at -40 Fahrenheit "releasing high pressure gas and propelling the separated components apart." The supplier told GM about the failure the next day. In these vehicles, the safety device might not only burst but the bag could inflate incorrectly, as well. GM and Takata say that a cause is not yet known, but they are "conducting an investigation." GM will begin notifying affected owners via overnight mail on Oct. 19. Dealers will replace the side airbag modules on all of the affected vehicles with new components outside of the suspect lot. All of the removed parts will also be collected for further study. Takata's faulty front airbag inflators have resulted in a serious scandal for the supplier. Initial figures indicated 34 million US vehicles are need of repair, though more recent figures have knocked that down to 23.4 million bad parts in 19.2 million automobiles. GM was already among the dozen automakers with models to fix, and some of its pickups were affected, along with the Saab 9-2X and Pontiac Vibe. GM Statement: General Motors is recalling 395 cars and crossovers in the U.S. because one of the front seat side air bags inflators may be defective. In the event of a deployment, the air bag's inflator may rupture and the air bag may not properly inflate. The rupture could cause metal fragments to strike the vehicle occupants, potentially resulting in serious injury or death. GM is unaware of any incidents involving vehicles with these components, which were part of a lot in which one inflator failed acceptance testing at the supplier. Dealers will replace the side air bag module or modules in affected vehicles. Including Canada, Mexico and exports, the total population of the recall is 414, GM estimates 1 percent of the recalled vehicles may have the defect.
