1946 CHEVY SHORT BED MODEL 3104 REBUILT 216 STRAIGHT 6 ENGINE WITH 4 SPEED TRANSMISSION WITH NEW CLUTCH AND THROW OUT BEARING. THIS ARIZONA TRUCK BELONGED TO MY FRIENDS GRANDFATHER WHO HAD IT SINCE THE 1980'S HIS GRANDFATHER PASSED AWAY AND I PURCHASED IT FROM THE FAMILY. HE HAD DONE A FRAME OFF RESTORATION IN THE 80'S. WHEN I GOT THE TRUCK, I HAD TO FINISH IT UP CAUSE IT WAS'NT QUITE DONE STILL NEED SOME WORK. I PAINTED IT A FLAT WHITE WITH RED ACCENTS. IT HAS A NEW WIRING HARNESS, GAUGES WORK BUT SPEEDO DOES NOT WORK AND DOES NOT RECORD MILES AT THIS TIME SO TRUE MILEAGE UNKNOWN. THE REAR FENDERS AND RUNNING BOARDS ARE FIBERGLASS REPO'S I PUT NEW REPRODUCTION SIDES ON THE BED BUT THE HEAD PANEL AND TAILGATE ARE ORIGINAL I DO BELEIVE. THIS IS AN OLDER RESTORATION AND IS NOT PERFECT, BUT IS A CLEAN AND STRAIGHT TRUCK. RUNS AND DRIVES LIKE AN OLD TRUCK SHOULD. ALL NEW OAK WOOD BED PANELS WITH CLEAR COAT TO PROTECT THE WOOD, WITH NEW POLISHED STAINLESS STRIPS. ALL NEW HUBCAPS AND BEAUTY RINGS ALONG WITH MATCHING SPARE TIRE AND WHEEL. THIS ARIZONA TRUCK HAS A CLEAN ARIZONA TITLE WITH ARIZONA ASSIGNED VIN NUMBER PLATE ON THE INSIDE DRIVERS DOOR PILLAR SEE PHOTOS. I DO ALL MY OWN PAINT AND BODY WORK SO I WILL PAINT THE DOORS BACK TO FLAT WHITE TO REMOVE MY SIGNS ON THEM AFTER BEING PAID IN FULL. HAS TWO NEW CHROME BUMPERS FRONT AND REAR. AND A NEW EXHAUST. Corvette Stolen In Detroit Returned To Owner After 33 Years
Wed, Jun 25 2014A Detroit man had his stolen Corvette returned 33 years after it disappeared while parked on one of Detroit's main drags, according to ABC 7. The last time George Talley saw his 1979 Corvette was on a July day in 1981, when it disappeared from its parking spot on Jefferson Avenue in Detroit. He had given up hope of ever seeing his car again, until a phone call from AAA brought his sporty ride home. Authorities had come across a Corvette with a questionable VIN in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. When they ran the number Talley's stolen car report came up. The car is still in pretty good shape and only has 47,000 miles on the odometer. Talley wasn't sure how he could get the car back home, but General Motors stepped in and agreed to cover the cost of bringing the 'Vette home. Talley has always had a passion for Detroit-made muscle cars. "I've always liked Corvettes. It was attractive. The ladies like 'em," Talley told ABC 7.

General Motors has released a new short video featuring Kirk Bennion of the Corvette's exterior design team, talking about the challenges of sculpting Chevrolet's new flagship sports car and the five goals the team had to keep in mind as it worked. In the end, Bennion's team had the pleasure of seeing their hard work take center stage as the Corvette captured the world's eyes at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
Fewer than 1 in 3 Chevy dealers earn right to initially sell C7 Corvette
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Looking to make the launch of the 2014 Corvette Stingray as efficient as possible, Chevrolet will be limiting the numbers of its dealers that can sell the all-new coupe and convertible. According to Automotive News, sales of the C7 Corvette will initially be limited to less than a third of Chevy's total dealership network when the 'Vette goes on sale this summer.
Only 900 dealers out of more than 3,000 locations nationwide will be allowed to sell the new Corvette at first, and the reason for this is so that there are no shortages at dealers that can actually get the cars sold. The article says that the 900 dealerships chosen represented 80 percent of total Corvette sales in 2012.
Some of the requirements dealers had to make to get initial allocation of Stingray sales include having sold at least four Corvettes in 2012 and having a Corvette Stingray specialist who will be required to have gone through a training session costing more than $2,000 per attendee. Once demand for the 2014 Corvette Stingray begins to subside - approximately six to nine months after it goes on sale - then allocation could open up to more dealers, but the report indicates this could happen following the 2014 model year.
