1940 Chevrolet Hot Rod Shop Truck! This truck is all steel! It is powered by a SBC 305 with 2 barrel carb, 350 turbo transmission. The truck has been custom fitted to a 1986 Toyota truck frame. No cutting or mods had to be done to the frame for this swap(has same wheel base as 40 chevy). Motor mounts and body and bed mounts welded to frame was all that was needed. Then body placed on rubber pads to eliminate squeeks. Frame is factory boxed so it is super strong and makes for a better handling and riding truck. So all the luxury of late model with old school style. Truck comes with front disc brakes (whole braking system is Toyota, even E-brake), power steering. It has a new Bell Tech drop spindles, new front rotors and pads, new shocks all around. Rides and drives great! It has new column with tilt wheel and a new wood steering wheel. It is completed with Borgeson u joints with a double D steering shaft. Truck has all new wiring harness (American Auto Wire). New aluminum radiator with transmission cooler, new Lokar radical shifter and linkage. It also has all new Dolphin gauges with aluminum gauge housing. All the gauges are wired and working. Truck cab has been insulated with heat shield and has new carpet installed along with lap belts. It sits on new chrome reverse wheels and new tires. 15" wide wheels on rear and 7 1/2 wide on the front. The bolt pattern is 5 on 4 1/2 so wheel style is endless. Truck is painted in Hot Rod Flatz black. The body is in excellent condition but NOT show condition. That was not the intent but still very nice. The truck has no air or heat installed but not a problem to put on with an under dash unit if that is your desire. The truck is a real looker. Driver dependability. Selling because I just don't get to use it as much as I would like. Has brand new back glass installed with new weather strip. Windshield glass and door glass are new as well. Rear fenders are from a 1947-54 Chevy Truck. They seem to match the fullness of th front fenders better.
Thank you!

Chevrolet SS previewed by Holden VF Commodore SS V show car
Thu, 14 Feb 2013It won't be long before we see the official, production-ready Chevrolet SS sedan (hint: it will be revealed this weekend). And to tide us over until all of the official details are released about the US-spec version, we have this: the Holden VF Commodore SS V show car, a performance-oriented brother to the Calais V that debuted earlier in the week.
What we really want to know about the SS V is what lies underhood, but General Motors' Australian arm is keeping that under wraps until the Chevy model breaks cover this weekend. Nevertheless, it's obvious that the SS V will be a serious performer, with all sorts of aggressive cues driving that home on the car's exterior. Take a look at those 20-inch billet aluminum wheels that hide big Brembo brake calipers up front, the sculpted hood and front fascia, the wide air intakes with LED running lights and the quad exhaust pipes out back. It's like the Pontiac G8 GXP never even left us.
Inside, there's a sporty-looking interior with aluminum accents that mix in with black leather and suede surfaces, all tied together in the middle with an eight-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system. It looks great, and again, while we don't know anything regarding powertrain details, it makes us oh-so happy to see a manual shifter smack dab in the middle of the center console.
GM recalls 8,500 Chevrolet Malibu models for rear suspension glitch
Mon, 04 Feb 2013According to a letter from General Motors to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, flaws in the build process of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu have led to the recall of 8,519 cars. Units built between December 6, 2011 and January 15, 2013 may have been assembled with rear suspension cradles that had insufficient torque applied to certain bolts. That out-of-spec assembly could lead to issues ranging from slight noises to a loss of vehicle control.
The problem was first noticed in December of last year by a GM test fleet driver and eventually tracked back to the improperly torqued bolts on the suspension cradle assembled through July 2012 by a supplier located not too far from the Malibu's Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Since an official NHTSA recall notice has not been issued yet, it isn't clear whether or not Detroit-built Malibus were the only ones affected (the 2013 Malibu is also built at GM's Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas). Dealers will fix the problem by inspecting vehicles for proper torque specs, retightening if not within specs and, in some cases, perform a rear-wheel alignment.
Chevy Sonic shreds like a skateboard
Tue, 19 Mar 2013Despite the fact that the 2013 Chevy Sonic is a fun, plucky little thing - especially in ever-so-slightly hotter RS guise - it is not, in fact, a skateboard. But don't tell that to rapper Theophilus London.
In General Motors' latest spot for the Chevrolet compact, London needs to make a quick run to the store for some milk. And even though, once again, the Sonic is not a skateboard, it ollies, pops and gets air because, you know, it's just so much fun to throw around.
If this video looks familiar to you, it's because this is the full ad that we first got a preview of in Chevy's longer, full-line spot, where the brand's "Find New Roads" tagline was introduced. Scroll down to see this dedicated Sonic spot, along with the older ad, and remember, the Sonic is still - still - not a skateboard.
