1937 Chevrolet Truck 1/2 ton, short box, Low Cab, 1937 Chevy Truck, Hot Rod, Street Rod, Rat Rod, Stove Bolt Not interested in trades. I have a clear and clean Oklahoma title in my name and in my hand. Tags are up to date. This is a project vehicle. THIS TRUCK DOES NOT RUN AND HAS NO WORKING BRAKES! Please plan accordingly. The truck was disassembled when we got it. We reassembled it with a few bolts to get it back together and looking like a truck again. The Engine and transmission are just setting in there. We were waiting to finalize placement. There is a transdapt kit included, that has engine and tranny mounts and cushions. The original transmission mounts will need some modification. The engine is a 350 Chevy small block with a turbo 350 transmission. kinda of a long block. I am including ram manifolds and a water pump. I was told the motor and transmission were in working order, but I have not verified either. It has the original front suspension. (Parallel leaf springs, knee action shocks, and straight axle.) It has original steering components, box, wheel, arms etc. I think the rear end is from about a 40 to 46 Chevy truck. Original style, parallel leaf springs, knee action shocks. It uses a open style drive shaft. No drive shaft with this truck yet. The fenders are incredible; they may have a few small dings, but have never split. Every fender I have ever seen has always been split and re welded. The running boards are also very nice. The passenger side door opens and closes well, it has some rust threw at the bottom edge. The driver side door sticks closed and is hard to get open, closes well, it is rusted on the bottom. There is also rust threw on the lower front part of the cab. The grill is pretty decent has some rust threw on a few of the lower bars. There is rust threw in the chin panel below the grill. See pictures. The tailgate is pretty straight, but has some rusted places on the bottom round tube part. It has the part of the spare tire carrier, We put the truck in a coat of primer; depending on what you want to do, you can go from there. There is no glass. The window regulators are in the doors and work. the front windshield frame will need some repair. included is a nice original radiator, gauges, original seat springs ,header panel, 2 rear taillights with 2 new 1936 lens. the wheels are 15 and nice other than needing polished. the tires are roller and one is flat, can get a steel wheel on there to ship. Items I know are missing, front bumper, grill top, driver door handle. A piece of inside door trim. The truck rolls and steers well, and can be loaded with out to much effort. I suggest a winch to pull it up on a trailer. Please look closely at Pictures. Ask question if you need to know, don’t assume. If you want to contact me by phone, please do so before 9:00 pm central time at 9184068210 Not interested in trades. Bidding: Your bid constitutes a legally binding contract to purchase this vehicle. Mark Reuss: GM can't afford product 'misses,' has 'thought about' CT6 V-Series
Thu, Apr 9 2015Mark Reuss is a busy man. He oversees General Motors' global product portfolio, an all-encompassing task for a company that sold more than 9.9 million cars and trucks last year. When GM launches a well-received product, like the road-going rocket ship that is the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 – he gets credit. When the company stumbles with the slow-selling Chevy Malibu or grapples with fallout from the decade-old Saturn Ion and its flawed ignition switch, he gets blamed. GM owners, the press and sometimes the federal government, demand answers. Bob Lutz famously held the job before Reuss. So did Mary Barra, who's now GM's chief executive. There's a New GM, but the lineage is connected to a long history. When he's not thinking product, Reuss, an executive vice president, also runs the purchasing and supply chain for the company, which is still one of the largest industrial empires in the world. We caught up with Reuss on the floor of the New York Auto Show, where GM had just rolled out two crucial new products: the 2016 Cadillac CT6 and the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. Speaking with a small group of reporters, Reuss delved into a variety of subjects, including the new Malibu, Cadillac's future (he thinks the ATS-V is going to "flame the M3 and M4"), and other topics. On fixing the Malibu: "We can't miss. We can't have those kinds of misses [like the previous generation] on our cars and crossovers and trucks. We can't do that. If we do that, we give a reason for someone to go buy something else. It's that simple. "On a car like the Malibu we have a chance to really fix all of that, which we have, and then lead. Then you've got a real opportunity there. So that's what we've really been focused on here – to fix those things." He later added: "We need that car here to transform Chevrolet desperately because it's the heart of the market. And when you think of Chevrolet, people will come back and think about what we did with the [new] Malibu and the Cruze... It's hugely important to us." On Cadillac: "If we go out and try and out-German the Germans, it's probably not going to work. We've got an opportunity here generationally where there's a lot of people younger than me that have parents that drove BMWs and Mercedes, and I think there's an opportunity there for those people to drive something different than what their parents did, and I think that's always been an opportunity in the auto industry if you look at the history of it.
Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too
Fri, 07 Dec 2012We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.
GM slashes prices in China as sales falter
Thu, May 14 2015Buying a vehicle from General Motors' stable of brands might be a lot cheaper in the near future – at least for customers in China. The effort comes as GM hopes to keep sales there growing, and the decision alludes to yet another sign that the Asian country no longer has the booming auto market of past years. GM and its Chinese joint venture partner SAIC are slashing prices by as much as the equivalent to $8,700 on 40 models from Buick, Chevrolet, and Cadillac, according to The Detroit News. Across all of automaker's nameplates, the overall sales dipped in China in April by 0.4 percent to 258,484 vehicles. Among the drops, Buick was down 8.5 percent, and Chevy shrunk 5.6 percent. Caddy's numbers increased 4.6 percent for the month, though. Buick remains a popular brand in the minds of Chinese consumers, but according to The Detroit News domestic automakers there are starting to eat into the dominance of foreign companies in the market. The country remains important for GM, though. Late last year, it outlined a future strategy that included China as a major pillar, including a $14 billion investment to build five new factories and boost sales.
