Before I begin I would encourage all serious buyers to contact me directly at: 517-425-0129.

Although this is a 7 day auction I reserve the right to end early.

You are bidding on what I refer to as a barn find, 1970 Nova. The indicated miles of 95000 are said to be original. One family owned, still retains the original owners manual and protecto plate. The son of the seller originally purchased the vehicle new and then passed away several years ago. At that point the father kept the vehicle primarily stored, driven rarely. In recent years the Nova has had some maintenance performed in an attempt to keep the car in running condition. As the car sits now, it will run and drive but I would suggest a full mechanical inspection prior to any long hauls. Description as follows:

Exterior:
* one older repaint to its original code 48; Forest Green.
* All exterior chrome, trim and glass in very nice condition
* Set of 4 14x7 Chevrolet Rallys on new tires
* Various nicks and chips, small ding on passenger rear quarter
* paint also shows some bubbling and blistering, spot on hood center where paint appears to have delaminated?
* Could be considered a 20 footer in its current condition or a drive as you restore car. but to make it nice, it will require paint.

Interior:
* Interior has been partially redone with seat covers and new carpet to match its original trim code of 745 Dark Green.
* Still very original condition with correct steering wheel, original AM radio. Overall interior is actually very nice.
* Recently refinished trunk area with mat and spare tire assembly. Looks like trunk floor has had a couple of repair areas as well.

Mechanical:
* Correct 350 V-8 2 barrel, very original appearing engine compartment.
* Still has factory AC in place, good compressor, belt is still hooked up. At the very least it will need a recharge.
* 2 speed automatic trans
* dual exhaust
* front end rebuilt and brakes redone approx. 5 years ago but only driven 800 miles since.
* Power steering, manual brakes
* exhaust leak off passenger side manifold, will need a new donut gasket.
* fuel gauge inoperable, always reads full, could be a ground?
* Other than that , heater, wipers, lights all work.

To summarize, this old Nova is somewhat of a survivor, has the potential to be a nice car with some work and money. Could also serve as a good daily driver. Regarding rust or rust repair, all original panels. 2-3 areas on underside will need some attention. Also appears that both rockers have been fixed at some time.

Please take the time to review all the pics and don't hesitate to call with further questions; 517-425-0129. I also have contact with a reasonable shipping company and would be glad to assist. Vehicle offered by Rare Rides, a licensed MI dealer.

TERMS; 25% NONREFUNDABLE DEPOSIT DUE WITHIN 3 DAYS OF AUCTION END. BALANCE DUE WITHIN 7 DAYS OR VEHICLE PICK UP, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. PREFERRED PAYMENT IS BANK TO BANK WIRE TRANSFER OR CERTIFIED BANK FUNDS. VEHICLE PURCHASED " AS IS", NO REFUNDS OR WARRANTIES IMPLIED.

First 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 Sells For One Million Dollars

Mon, Apr 14 2014

NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick loves buying first-built Chevrolet models for charity. He paid $1 million to buy the first production 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible and $650,000 to get the first 2014 Chevy Camaro Z/28. Hendrick's latest purchase happened at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach where he got into a bidding war to pay $1 million to get the first 2015 Corvette Z06. The bidding came quick with the car reaching $100,000 within 3 seconds and hitting $500,000 in about 35 seconds. The money from the sale was donated to the Karmanos Cancer Institute. Vert-A-Pac train cars kept your Chevy Vega's price in check

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically.
At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir. GM finds steering flaw, decides it doesn't warrant a recall

Tue, Apr 14 2015

Guess what? General Motors is back in the spotlight for not recalling something. This time, though, not only does the company have an argument against a recall campaign, but its position is supported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. According to The New York Times, over 50 owners of GM vehicles have reported instances of stuck or seized steering after driving long distances without moving the wheel. One owner complained to NHTSA that the "locked" steering of their 2013 Buick Verano caused a collision with a concrete barrier in a construction zone. Along with the 2013 to 2014 model year Verano sedans, Chevrolet Cruze and Malibu sedans are also affected. Considering the popularity of those models, GM needs to have a reason for not issuing a recall, right? "Based on a very low rate of occurrence – ranging from less than one half to less than two incidents per thousand vehicles – and the fact that the condition is remedied when the wheel is turned, GM determined this was not a safety issue," spokesman Alan Adler told The Times. The company has, however, issued a technical service bulletin for owners that complain of the problem. The fix is nothing more than a software update that is covered for 10 years or 150,000 miles from new. NHTSA cited GM's actions, along with descriptions of the problems from customers, in its decision not to issue a recall, with spokeswoman Catherine Howden saying, "the symptoms described would be a brief, perceptible change in steering feel that has little to no effect on the driver's ability to safely steer the vehicle." "When terms like 'notchy,' 'stick,' 'slip' or 'feel' are used, it does not indicate a meaningful increase in steering effort," Howden told The Times via email. What do you think? Is GM in the wrong here? Should there be a recall, or is the issue so limited as to not warrant one? Have your say in Comments.
