Up for auction is my 1971 nova. Car is painted in its original color mulsane blue and is arrow straight and show quality work done by a proffesional. Car was primed and blocked twice and sanded and buffed afterwords for a flat deep shine. Body panels are all original to this car, nothing was rusted or needed replaced and has no patch work and very little filler is in this car. Interior is completely redone and is all stock in its dark blue color except it has auto meter guages in the dash panel, grant billet steering wheel, pistol grip shifter, painless wiring switch panel, rci 5 point harness with camlock and a 4130 8 point chromoly roll bar with swing out bars on both doors for easy entrance and exit. Bar will cert to 10.0 easily, Car was built to be a extremely nice drag car. It does have working lights and is street legal except it has no turn signals. MOTOR:434 cubic inch small block, dart little m block, brodix kb cnc track 1 heads, edelbrock cnc super victor intake, holley ultra hp 950 carb, jesel shaft mount rockers, comp billet solid roller cam with .690 lift, je pistons 14;1 compression, eagle esp crank and rods, good for 700 horse, has gz vacuum pump, msd ignition, hooker super comp headers, powermaster mini alt and starter, energy suspension motor and trans mounts. TRANS: Coan turbo 400 reverse manual with trans brake and billet shafts, and coan 8 inch 5000 stall convertor. REAREND: Currie stage III 9 inch with brace, 35 spline axles with 4:11 gears, spool and wilwood disk brakes on rear and ssbc slotted disks on front. SUSPENSION: Multi leaf rear with comp engineering 50/50 in rear and 90/10 in front. Moroso drag springs in front with all new front end parts. Car has slide-a-links in rear and welded subframe connectors. Has the big 1350 ujoints and 4 inch driveshaft. Jaz plastic 12 gallon fuel cell with sump, holley hp 150 fuel pump and all alluminum or braided lines.Optima battery in trunk as well. Car has a complete painless wiring harness with switch panel. Be cool alluminum radiater with dual fans module. Wheels are billet specialties street lite 15X8 in rear with 28x12.5 et streets and fronts are 15x3 with 27.5 et fronts.  Hood is lift off fiberglass harwood with zues fasteners.  Manual brakes manual steering. Car is not cut up whatsoever and is very clean in out and under, everything is fresh build on this car and ready to race or rule the streets. Car is scary fast.  Has full 3 inch exhaust with x pipe and pypes race pro mufflers over the axle and dumped behind rear wheels. Alot of money spent on this car would cost at least 40k  to duplicate this car. Car is titled and is clear and in my name. The beauty of this car is its at home at a car show or the track. Does not look like a drag car at all, completely stock looking interior and exterior except for the few things like the roll bar ect. I built it with this in mind. Nothing better than running fender to fender with 10 second gutted full on drag cars then parking next to the show cars. Its the best of both worlds. Wont find a nicer car for the money. I dont need to sell this car but i would like to buy a new boat. Look at the pics closely it is a very nice car, nothing to hide here this is my car not something i traded for or am trying to make a quick buck on like 90% of the cars on here. I am not a dealer or deal in cars for a living. This is my heart and soul and most of my paychecks. LOL Please enjoy and feel free to ask questions. Please add up what it would take to built a car like this and it becomes aparent that this is a good deal at my reserve price. Motor, trans and rearend are around 20k alone. I left out alot of stuff im sure but just ask, there is alot of high doller parts on this car. ATTENTION;;;;ATENTION;; some of the pics i posted are when i was doing the interior in the car, note the steering wheel is different in a few pics, it has the billet wheel on it and rci belts in it now. most interior pics dont have that in them. also pics of the the rear seat area are while i was installing carpet and front seats. Just to let you know the car is completely 100% done and together now. Sorry i was just to lazy to go take new ones. All pics you see were taken within the last couple weeks. Thankyou.

Which electric cars can charge at a Tesla Supercharger?

Sun, Jul 9 2023

The difference between Tesla charging and non-Tesla charging. Electrify America; Tesla Tesla's advantage has long been its charging technology and Supercharger network. Now, more and more automakers are switching to Tesla's charging tech. But there are a few things non-Tesla drivers need to know about charging at a Tesla station. A lot has hit the news cycle in recent months with regard to electric car drivers and where they can and can't plug in. The key factor in all of that? Whether automakers switched to Tesla's charging standard. More car companies are shifting to Tesla's charging tech in the hopes of boosting their customers' confidence in going electric.  Here's what it boils down to: If you currently drive a Tesla, you can keep charging at Tesla charging locations, which use the company's North American Charging Standard (NACS), which has long served it well. The chargers are thinner, more lightweight and easier to wrangle than other brands.  If you currently drive a non-Tesla EV, you have to charge at a non-Tesla charging station like that of Electrify America or EVgo — which use the Combined Charging System (CCS) — unless you stumble upon a Tesla charger already equipped with the Magic Dock adapter. For years, CCS tech dominated EVs from everyone but Tesla.  Starting next year, if you drive a non-Tesla EV (from the automakers that have announced they'll make the switch), you'll be able to charge at all Supercharger locations with an adapter. And by 2025, EVs from some automakers won't even need an adaptor.  Here's how to charge up, depending on which EV you have:  Ford 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. Tim Levin/Insider Ford was the earliest traditional automaker to team up with Tesla for its charging tech. Current Ford EV owners — those driving a Ford electric vehicle already fitted with a CCS port — will be able to use a Tesla-developed adapter to access Tesla Superchargers starting in the spring. That means that, if you own a Mustang Mach-E or Ford F-150 Lightning, you will need the adapter in order to use a Tesla station come 2024. But Ford will equip its future EVs with the NACS port starting in 2025 — eliminating the need for any adapter. Owners of new Ford EVs will be able to pull into a Supercharger station and juice up, no problem. General Motors Cadillac Lyriq. Cadillac GM will also allow its EV drivers to plug into Tesla stations.

Best car infotainment systems: From UConnect to MBUX, these are our favorites

Sun, Jan 7 2024

Declaring one infotainment system the best over any other is an inherently subjective matter. You can look at quantitative testing for things like input response time and various screen load times, but ask a room full of people that have tried all car infotainment systems what their favorite is, and you’re likely to get a lot of different responses. For the most part, the various infotainment systems available all share a similar purpose. They aim to help the driver get where they're going with navigation, play their favorite tunes via all sorts of media playback options and allow folks to stay connected with others via phone connectivity. Of course, most go way beyond the basics these days and offer features like streaming services, in-car performance data and much more. Unique features are aplenty when you start diving through menus, but how they go about their most important tasks vary widely. Some of our editors prefer systems that are exclusively touch-based and chock full of boundary-pushing features. Others may prefer a back-to-basics non-touch system that is navigable via a scroll wheel. You can compare it to the phone operating system wars. Just like some prefer Android phones over iPhones, we all have our own opinions for what makes up the best infotainment interface. All that said, our combined experience tells us that a number of infotainment systems are at least better than the rest. WeÂ’ve narrowed it down to five total systems in their own subcategories that stand out to us. Read on below to see our picks, and feel free to make your own arguments in the comments. Best infotainment overall: UConnect 5, various Stellantis products Ram 1500 Uconnect Infotainment System Review If thereÂ’s one infotainment system that all of us agree is excellent, itÂ’s UConnect. It has numerous qualities that make it great, but above all else, UConnect is simple and straightforward to use. Ease of operation is one of the most (if not the single most) vital parts of any infotainment system interface. If youÂ’re expected to be able to tap away on a touchscreen while driving and still pay attention to the road, a complex infotainment system is going to remove your attention from the number one task at hand: driving. UConnect uses a simple interface that puts all of your key functions in a clearly-represented row on the bottom of the screen. Tap any of them, and it instantly pulls up that menu.

First 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 engine blows up at just 891 miles

Thu, Jan 1 2015

You've waited and watched and waited some more for the arrival of your 650-horsepower, $78,000 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Finally, that joyous day arrives and you eagerly, but gingerly, begin to break-in the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 monster under your hood. Then 900-odd miles after delivery, your excitement grinds, quite literally, to a halt. That's what the owner of one 2015 Z06 claimed happened to him when a simple break-in drive resulted in a lunched engine. The owner, known as Lawdogg149 on Corvette Forum, says he was out breaking-in his car ahead of a January track event when it happened. "While making a pull from 35 miles per hour, I accelerated and shifted short of redline, and boom - the car began knocking. I pulled over and popped the hood. I could hear a loud knock coming from the No. 6 cylinder area along with a serious, grinding, metal-on-metal sound coming from the supercharger area," Lawdogg wrote. A subsequent trip to the dealer confirmed his concerns, with the service facility telling Lawdogg that the No. 6 valvetrain had failed. The dealer couldn't research the issue further, though, as General Motors requested the engine be returned for a more thorough evaluation. The good news for the Z06's unlucky owner, at least, is that GM will be covering the engine replacement under warranty, an expense that Corvette Forum estimates is a nearly $24,000 procedure. At this point, the two leading theories behind the engine's detonation involve a manufacturing defect – which could be why GM is so keen to tear the blown powerplant down – or a mistake on the part of Lawdogg. As Motor Authority points out, such an error could be something as simple as the Z06's owner accidentally shifting to first rather than third during his 35-mph pull. If, however, there's a deeper manufacturing problem with the Z06's engine, this might not be the only case we end up hearing about.
