Thanks, and happy bidding!

NO RESERVE! I have this 1971 Chevy Nova Super Sport, it belonged to a lady's late husband here in Savannah Georgia and was stolen from her driveway and taken to a recycling yard. The yard put it to the side since it seemed kind of odd that someone would want to crush it, the police showed up later to recover it for her. The recycling yard ultimately purchased the car from the lady who at that point had no idea what she would do with it anyway, and then I purchased the car from the recycling yard. So when I say it is a survivor car, I mean it just barely survived.
As a result of the interesting way I bought the car I was never able to get the keys or title, the lady had already moved from the address the recycling yard had on file. Georgia law allows you to buy, register, tag, and drive a vehicle with no title if it is a 1985 or earlier model year. Check with your state on applicable laws.

Yes it is a true SS, the body color, top color, engine code, rear end (12 bolt), trim tag, catalyst sticker, VIN number, and door sticker all match. The transmission is not the original transmission, at some point a TH200 was swapped in where it should have a TH350. The trans is not "coded" and TH350's are easy to come by so it should be easy to swap in the correct part for 100% value. I have done only the most minimal work to it so that it starts, runs, and drives, I have left everything else the way I found it aside from vacuuming it out and putting some tires on it, leaving the choice of direction with the car up to the next owner. The car is very much original besides some small details like an electronic distributor. It has not been cut or hacked, or modified, or hot-rodded. It will need restoring to bring it back to its former glory, but mechanically speaking it is running and driving well enough to be loaded on a trailer or car carrier. Some time needs to be spent on making the brakes work better, and the wiring for the headlights and front turn signals needs to be sorted. I have taken the time to take as many pictures as possible (ebay has a terrible policy that only allows for 24 photos, see the rest of the photos at the link below) and have made a couple videos that can give you the best idea of its condition.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.

Recharge Wrap-up: Toyota FCV Rally Car To Compete, Barra bullish on Chevy Volt

Fri, Oct 31 2014

The Toyota FCV will compete in the last stage of the 2014 Japanese Rally Championship. The sport-tuned hydrogen-powered car will tackle the 177-mile Shinshiro Rally on November 1 and 2, emitting no greenhouse gases in the process. The rally course will help prove the safety of the vehicle before it goes on sale in Japan in the next several months. The Toyota FCV, rumored to be called "Mirai" in Japan, will begin sales there before April, according to Toyota, and in the summer in the US and Europe. Read more in the press release below. Carsharing is becoming more popular, and more visible, throughout the world, including the US. According to WardsAuto columnist John McElroy, 18 percent of US drivers have used some sort of carsharing service. Additionally, he says 60 percent of Americans are familiar with Zipcar and Uber. Mercedes' Harald Kroeger says promotions like free parking for carshares in Stuttgart are encouraging growth for Daimler's carsharing service, Car2go. Read more at WardsAuto. Ethanol is being help up by rail transport, according to ethanol producer Green Plains. More and more stations are carrying E15 blend gasoline, but grain producers have complained that crude oil is given higher priority by the rail lines shipping it, which rail companies deny. Union Pacific and BNSF Railway say they are stepping up service to make sure that ethanol can be shipped reliably to customers. Read more at Omaha World-Herald. General Motors "has placed a significant bet [on] the electrification of the automobile," says CEO Mary Barra. In a speech to the Detroit Economic Club this week, she spoke about the Chevrolet Volt, and its importance to GM's future. While Barra admits the Volt's success has been "not everything we wanted," it has provided experience, and shows that EVs have "an important role in the future of GM." The new Volt is more refined, stores more energy, has longer range, uses less fuel and is a big investment for Michigan. She announced that the new Volt's electric drive system will be built in Warren, and that all of its major components will be made in Michigan. "Silicon Valley doesn't have a corner on the market for innovation, creativity and drive," says Barra. "These qualities exist here – in this region – as well."
