For no-reserve auction is one 1969 Chevrolet Nova, 4 door, 2 speed automatic, 250 ci straight six.  Green over green.  Ran when parked.  (I just had to put that in!)

I've owned this car since 1982.  I'm the second owner.  It was my daily driver for ten years, then became my project.  It's been parked since 1992.  I have had to face the fact that I'm not going to get this project off the ground.  I'm hoping to find a it a home where someone else will.

In it's day, the car was very dependable, good on gas, and powerful enough to be fun but not enough to get you in trouble.  Vent windows and bench seats are features that I miss in today's cars.

Please examine the photos, bearing in mind that they are a few years old.  The car has been garaged the entire time it's been in storage.  Even so, there are problems that will have to be addressed before it is road worthy, including tires.  The car will have to be taken out on a trailer.  There is no room to work on the car at the garage.  Shipping is the buyer's responsibility.

Payment must be made within 7 days.  I reserve the right to end the auction early.

The car is a four-door.  The backseat is in very good condition as is the headliner.  The front seat is ripped. (Don't keep screwdrivers in your back pocket!)  There is rust on the the rear quarter panels.  The driver's door is not original, it was replaced.  There is some body repair on the left rear quarter panel.  The back bumper is slightly dented.  The front end saw a foray into a ditch before I got it and was competently repaired.  The car was repainted once in 1985, in the original color.  The floor is pretty good, with a worn spot under the driver's heel.  The windshield is cracked, but the rest of the glass is in good condition.

The car is in as-is condition, no restoration attempts have been made so you get a fresh slate.  Indoor storage has prevented much water damage.

If you like the feel of 1960's muscle cars like the Camaro, Yenko Nova, Chevelle, Malibu or Chevy II but don't have the budget for the high demand cars, and if you'd like a car that you can actually work on without the need for expensive computer diagnostic equipment, then this may be the toy for you.

Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum. Autotrader picks best cars for 2015's college grads

Sun, May 31 2015

Summer is here and the school season is winding to a close. That means millions of students will be graduating college and (hopefully) entering the workforce. For many, that will mean buying a new car suited to the new stage in life into which they will now be embarking. That can be a bewildering choice, especially for someone who's never bought a car before. Fortunately, Autotrader has come up with a short list of recommended cars – new and used – which it recommends to the graduating class of 2015. Among the site's top choices are some compelling crossovers and hatchbacks, including the Buick Encore, Chevy Trax, and Jeep Renegade, as well as the Honda Fit, Nissan Versa Note, Mazda3 and Fiat 500. Can't stretch to buying new, or don't see the point? Autotrader has also identified the Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion and even the Lexus IS as smart buys in the certified pre-owned category. "Any time someone goes through a major life change, such as graduating college, they need to determine if their current ride makes sense for their lifestyle, from both a financial and functional perspective," says Autotrader editor Brian Moody. "For example, while that hand-me-down SUV from your parents was nice when you turned 16, you may want to opt for a safer, more fuel-efficient car as you transition into the working world." Autotrader Names 10 Best Cars for Recent College Graduates ATLANTA, May 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- For many, graduating college is a milestone like no other – it represents a new chapter, a proud accomplishment and, fortunately or unfortunately, financial independence. Luckily for graduates who are in the market for a new car to suit their post-college lifestyle, Autotrader's expert editors say now is a great time to make a purchase, as dealerships are flush with affordable models that are fun, fuel-efficient and thoughtfully designed. Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.
