Well it is time to sell my 1967 Nova SS (True 118 Car). I have owned this car for 30 years now, first car I ever bought. It has seen a few changes in its life. Stock, street racer and now Pro-Touring. Every nut, bolt, glass, chrome, stainless, etc is ALL NEW!!
These days the pro-touring scene can feel a bit like the pro-street scene a bunch of show cars built solely for aesthetics. Sure, they all look good with wide wheels and giant brakes, but how many could successfully conquer an autocross course? The number is probably smaller than you think. Its why we never get tired of builds like 1967 Chevrolet Nova SS. Sporting a 500hp Carbureted LS1 Carbureted, a Built 700R4-speed, an industrial strength drivetrain.
So where do you begin with a Nova like this? Probably on the outside where rust-free California sheet metal served as the foundation. Charlies Auto body in Riverside took care of the paint and body and certainly did a great job transforming this Nova into a show stopper. The first thing that jumps out is the color 2008 Dodge Viper Blue. There were no less than three blues available on the 67 Nova but this one doesnt compare to any of them its more vibrant and lustrous than factory colors could dream of being in the era. Another huge factor is the body work below that top coat. Behind the laser straight quarters, the car has also been DSE mini-tubbed to accept a 10-inch wide wheel.
Pro-touring is about usable power not just big numbers on a show board. With that in mind, its hard to think of a better platform than GMs LS1. I built this engine to move, on paper it shows about 500hp to the flywheel. I never had the car Chassis Dynod, but I wanted too. Hand ported LS6 (243s) which flow great. These heads are also milled to bring the compression to 11.1 so I can run pump gas (91octane). MSD ignition runs all the engine electronics. The FI was removed and I opted for carburation to make it look old school. It has an Edelbrock Vic Jr. intake manifold and a 780CFM Pro-Systems Carburetor.
Take a look underneath this Nova and youll find even more high-tech hardware and meticulous workmanship. The stock sheet metal front end is supported by a full Church Boys Racing (CBR) Chevy II front which houses tubular upper and lower control arms, double adjustable Viking coilovers, a splined sway bar, and manual Rack n Pinion. The updates continue out back where a factory 1966 Chevy II 12 Bolt posi(very rare) with a Eaton posi and 3.73s. Ridetech four-link system works with a set of Viking coilovers to keep the rear planted. The 4-wheel Wilwood brake system consists of 14-inch front and 13-inch rear, fed by braided hoses throughout.
The custom interior is very soft custom black vinyl and suede accents, custom door panels and headliner in suede also. I made the custom console and added the Pioneer 7 Navigation system. This has new Nu-Relics 4 power window kits and billet switches. The factory bucket seats have TMI sport seat foam added for a more comfortable ride and sport feeling. The custom stereo uses the Pioneer 7 Head unit with NAV, 1200W Belva 12 sub woofers, 2 6x9 Pioneer rear speakers and 2 5.5 Pioneers for the front.

GM recalls 8,500 Chevrolet Malibu models for rear suspension glitch
Mon, 04 Feb 2013According to a letter from General Motors to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, flaws in the build process of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu have led to the recall of 8,519 cars. Units built between December 6, 2011 and January 15, 2013 may have been assembled with rear suspension cradles that had insufficient torque applied to certain bolts. That out-of-spec assembly could lead to issues ranging from slight noises to a loss of vehicle control.
The problem was first noticed in December of last year by a GM test fleet driver and eventually tracked back to the improperly torqued bolts on the suspension cradle assembled through July 2012 by a supplier located not too far from the Malibu's Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Since an official NHTSA recall notice has not been issued yet, it isn't clear whether or not Detroit-built Malibus were the only ones affected (the 2013 Malibu is also built at GM's Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas). Dealers will fix the problem by inspecting vehicles for proper torque specs, retightening if not within specs and, in some cases, perform a rear-wheel alignment.
GM and Isuzu to partner for medium-duty commercial truck
Tue, Jun 16 2015General Motors is returning to the medium-duty truck business in the US for the first time since 2009 thanks to a new deal with longtime-partner Isuzu. The arrangement brings the Isuzu N-series models to Chevrolet dealers with the Bowtie's branding on them in 2016. There are six medium-duty Chevy models arriving at dealers in regular cab and crew cab bodies: the 3500, 3500HD, 4500, 4500HD, 5500, and 5500HD. The trucks will be sold as a bare chassis for buyers to outfit to their needs. Depending on model, customers will have the choice of an Isuzu-sourced 3.0-liter and 5.2-liter diesel engines or a 6.0-liter V8 gasoline-fueled engine from GM and six-speed gearbox. According to company spokesperson Bob Wheeler to Autoblog, the diesel models will be built in Japan and the rest assembled from knockdown kits in Charlotte, MI. This kind of vehicle sharing isn't uncommon for GM in the commercial segment, and it already partners with Nissan to use the Japanese brand's NV200 as the City Express van. The General also once owned a significant stake in Isuzu, and the two have remained collaborators even since then. Isuzu and GM Enter Commercial Vehicle Collaboration Agreement in the U.S. 2015-06-15 DETROIT and FUJISAWA, Japan General Motors Co. (NYSE: GM) and Isuzu Motors (TSE 7202) have reached an agreement on a U.S. commercial vehicle collaboration, allowing Isuzu to strengthen its product lineup and GM to expand its commercial vehicle portfolio. Isuzu will produce low cab forward models for GM, based off of the Isuzu N-Series. The vehicles will be distributed by participating Chevrolet dealers in the U.S. market starting in 2016. To strengthen the product lineup, GM and Isuzu will explore the use of GM commercial vehicle components for Isuzu low cab forward trucks and GM will continue to produce and supply the 6.0L V-8 gas engine and six-speed transmission for Isuzu gasoline-powered low cab forward trucks. Isuzu and GM have maintained a strategic partnership for more than 40 years, producing collaborative business opportunities throughout the world. This agreement continues that tradition and reinforces a long-term relationship that helps to explore future collaborations in the U.S. commercial vehicle business.
