I’m listing an incredible 1967 Nova powered by an LS 6 and a super charger. Let me start by saying that I have owned 37 1966 - 67 Nova’s and I have had some really nice ones but this is the nicest one I have ever owned. You can’t do anything else to this car it has it all. I have listed 48 pictures so please give it a little time to load I assure you it will be worth it. This car will stand up next to any other Nova in the country. The paint on this car is as close to a 10 as you will get and take a look at the rear and front windows the trim has all been removed and the windows are molded into the car. The drip edge on the side has been shaved off and then the stainless trim was embedded into the roof area it looks really smooth and slick. The glass is all tinted and really looks good with the show quality paint job. The rear trunk molding has also been removed and again it just looks smooth. All the trim and chrome on the car is also next to perfect and is show quality. The interior is red leather and it’s as neat as you will see. I don’t think there is a better color combination then Black and red together. The interior has air conditioning that blows cold, a tilt steering column with the new style Billet D wheel. A Dakota digital dash, inside hood release, touch screen Cd/Radio, 6 speed manual transmission and last but not least a power trunk popper. The suspension is all tubular A-arms with a Heit’s front end with a power rack and the rear end is also a Heit’s with a 4 link with chrome trailing arms. There are powder coated sub frame connectors underneath the car and the floor pans have all been painted and look as good as the top of the car. The exhaust is all stainless steel and the mufflers are polished stainless. The car is equipped with Air ride on all four corners and is controlled with a digital gauge mounted in the console along with figure touch pads under the dash .The Gas tank is a very nice Stainless tank and the car also has Will wood chrome 4 wheel disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors. The wheels are 18’ billet Stiletto up front and 20’’ x 10’’ on the rear they look awesome with that big lip on the rear. The LS6 motor is cool enough but then a super charger was also added and all I can say is hold on. The motor is all polished and the polished aluminum be cool radiator not only looks good but it keep the car cool along with the dual electric fans. The trunk is all finished in leather to match the interior and looks really nice. This is a beautiful car and there was a bunch of money and time put in the build. The reserve on the car is much lower than the build price you couldn’t build the car for what the reserve is. If you’re looking for a show stopping Nova here it is. This car draws a huge crowd of people everywhere I take it. I require a $2,000 nonrefundable deposit at the end of the auction and the balance within 5 days. My first choice is to sell the car but I might consider a trade but no projects, Street rods, motorcycles or boats. Please send your trade offers to dadofcars@yahoo.com. If you have any questions please call me at 330-353-0959. If shipping is needed I can connect you with a shipper I have used many time. As always the car is sold as is with no warranty. I do reserve the right to end the auction at any time as the car is for sale locally. Call me 330-353-0959 Thanks Steve

Next Chevy Silverado could get this built-in tailgate step

Thu, Feb 2 2017

General Motors just received patent approval for a tailgate step in a pickup bed. And given the timing, don't be surprised if you see this on the upcoming 2019 Silverado pickup (not the mention its GMC Sierra twin), expected to arrive in late 2018. According to the patent, granted in December of last year, the whole mechanism is housed in the tailgate assemble. The magic happens when a portion of the top half of the tailgate swings down and a step folds out. There's also a handle that locks into position to help climb up into the bed. As trucks get bigger and taller over the years, it gets harder and harder to access the cargo bed. Ford's solution with the 2009 F-150 was a step that slides out from the end of the tailgate. Back then, Chevy made an ill-advised ad highlighting the feature for Ford. And while Howie Long mocked the F-150's "man step" Ford saw almost a third of its trucks with the option in the first year. The GM design seems to improve on Ford's idea as it appears to be wider and has a back to the lower step. That is, you don't have to worry about stepping through the ladder-rung design as on the F-150. Ford's tailgate step later spread to the F Super Duty, and other cargo access assists have proliferated through the truck world. On the most recent redesign, the Chevrolet Silverado took a trick from the Avalanche and added cutouts to the corners of the rear bumper that act as a foothold. Ford also offers a deployable side step, Chevrolet has running boards that scoot rearward with a kick of the boot, and Ram offers fixed wheel-to-wheel side rails. Nissan is in on the game too, with an optional folding step that tucks under the rear bumper. We don't expect Chevrolet to comment on when or if we'll see this feature in the showrooms. But given that engineers are already hard at work on the next Silverado and the timing of this patent lines right up with the new truck's development cycle, we'll be disappointed if this patent stays in the file cabinet. GM Design shows what could have been and what might be

Thu, May 27 2021

We periodically like to check in with GM Design's Instagram account to see what they're cooking up. Even better is when we catch a glimpse of an alternate history of what legendary designers from The General's past were thinking, though those ideas may not have made it into production. This week, for example, the account posted some illustrations from George Camp, whose career at GM spanned nearly four decades, from 1963 to 2001. One of the renderings is of what appears to be a 1971-72 Pontiac GTO Judge, but with two headlights instead of the production unit's quad beams. The rear departs from the canonical version most dramatically, with a massive integrated wing. Other bits that didn't make the production cut include large side vents, a gill-like side marker and rectangular intakes below the headlights that wouldn't be out of place on a modern design today. Amazingly, from what we can make out of the date, it appears that the drawing was done sometime in 1965, which makes it quite prescient.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) There's also a very aerodynamic interpretation of a Corvette ZR-1. To our eyes it splits the difference between the 1986 Corvette Indy concept and a fourth-generation F-body Pontiac Firebird, so perhaps parts of Camp's work on this sketch did make it into physical form. There's also a radical sports car concept from May 1970 that resembles the Mazda RX-500 concept from the same year, a Syd Mead-looking Cadillac coupe, and an Oldsmobile with a cool take on the company's trademark waterfall grille and elements of the Colonnade Cutlass at the rear. Other recent posts include a FJ Cruiser-like off-road EV, a sleek coupe with the Chevy corporate grille, and a rendering of a Silverado-esque pickup that looks far better than the current production version.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) It's pretty easy to lose hours in the account, but it's always fascinating to see GM's visions of what could have been and what might be. These are the five most ridiculous attacks on the Chevy Volt [w/videos]

Thu, Aug 7 2014

It's been a long, strange trip for the Chevy Volt from the time when the now-odd-looking concept version (above) was introduced at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show to today. And now, General Motors announced that the second-generation Chevy Volt will make an appearance at the 2015 Detroit show in January. This debut represents a victory for GM with what has easily become the most politicized car of the 21st Century. There are plenty of reasons for someone to criticize the Volt, but what's amazing is just how much anti-Volt energy has been spent not on things like the styling or how the EREV setup is not as efficient as a pure-EV powertrain. As we wait for more official information on the new Volt, we thought it would be fun to go back and look at some of the most wildly incorrect reporting and strangest attacks on the Volt from the archives. There is so much good stuff out there, it was hard to pare the list down, but these are our five favorites. Amazingly, they're not all clips from Fox News. Check 'em out below. 5. GM Is Going To Stop Making The Chevy Volt In The US Do you remember when GM was about to move Volt production to China? Well, yeah, this was reported back in early 2012 when a GM executive mentioned that the automaker would get benefits of building the Volt in the places where it sells them. This was spun into a story of GM taking Obama bailout money and then running to China. The Blaze was not happy: "Given the fact that Federal government helped itself to millions and millions of taxpayer dollars under the pretense that it was going to combat high unemployment by creating 'green jobs,' it would seem that moving research and development (and possibly manufacturing) overseas is slightly, well, counterproductive." Well, of course, that never happened. There's no way to say that GM will never build a version of the Volt in China, but the news we hear rumors of these days is that GM is going to move production of more Volt parts (specifically, the motors) to Michigan from overseas. 4. The Chevy Volt Is A Fire Trap There has never been a Volt that just spontaneously lit up while driving down the road. Yes, there were Volts that caught on fire. Yes, that's a scary thing. But there has never been a Volt that just spontaneously lit up while driving down the road. These were crashed test vehicles with destroyed batteries and plugged-in vehicles that were not the cause.
