Hello everyone!!! Up for sale is a 1966 Chevrolet Nova Chevy II that was a 2 year rotisserie build. This car started out as an all original numbers matching #  car from Ohio with 53,000 miles. It had the factory interior in it which was totally flawless. This Chevy II is a factory two tone color car also. I completely disassembled the car and put it on my rotisserie and sandblasted the bottom and the firewall. The floor pans are as solid and rust free as when they put in from the factory. I etch primed the pans and painted them satin black. Next I ordered a Heidts Pro G front suspension with the optional 1" front sway bar and powercoated the frame satin black and the control arms gun metal gray. It has 2.5" drop spindles with double adjustable polished coilover struts with a power rack and pinion steering set up. The power steering fittings and lines are AN with black braided hoses. For front brakes it has the 4 piston wilwood disc brake set up with power brake booster. The rearend is a big ten 3.42 postive traction with 3" drop springs and factory drum brakes. I also ordered Heidts subframe connectors and transmission crossmember which were also powdercoated gun metal gray. It has stainless steel fuel lines, brake lines, and all bolts that was used to assemble the car are all stainless steel to prevent rust and have a very clean look. I put a new Rock Valley stainless steel fuel tank on with a full baffles and an in tank fuel pump. I went with a 1996 corvette grand sport LT-4 engine with a 4L60E transmission with an aftermarket tailhousing so I could utilize the factory speedometer. The car has plenty of power to get this car down the road and will cruise down the highway. To cool the engine I went with a all aluminum stock style radiator with a thermostat controlled electric fan. I put a Gen IV vintage heat and air system on also. The hood hinges have also been powdercoated gray as well. The driveshaft was shortened 2" and rebalanced. I painted the car back to the original color sandalwood Tan body and cameo beige top with PPG basecoat clearcoat paint. I went with magnaflow mufflers and had a custom exhaust sytem installed. The wheels are 17" OEM Wheel Vintiques with stainless steel trim rings and center caps. Tires are Kumho 225/45 fronts and 245/45 rears. All original glass and trim was in excellent shape. I did replace the bumpers and the rocker molding because the original ones wasn't as shiny. No shortcuts were taking to build this car. For more pictures I can email or text them to you.  Feel free to ask any questions. This car is being sold AS IS. Buyer is fully responsible for the shipping, I will help with the loading. This car WILL NOT leave my shop till payment has cleared my bank. I have a clear Ohio title in hand. For more details you can call me at (662)-415-9286 after 3pm CST. If you need more pictures I can email or text them to you. Thanks for looking!!

The USPS needs 180,000 new delivery vehicles, automakers gearing up to bid

Wed, Feb 18 2015

Winning the New York City Taxi of Tomorrow tender was a huge prize for Nissan, even though the company is still working through the process of claiming its prize. The United States Postal Service has begun the process to take bids for a new delivery vehicle to replace the all-too-familiar Grumman Long Life Vehicle, and that will be a much larger plum for the automaker who wins it, perhaps worth more than six billion dollars. The Grumman LLV is an aluminum body covering a Chevrolet S-10 pickup chassis and General Motors' Iron Duke four-cylinder engine. The USPS bought them from 1987 to 1994, and the 163,000 of them still in service are a monumental drain on postal resources: they get roughly ten miles to the gallon instead of the quoted 16 mpg, drink up more than $530 million in fuel each year, and their constant repair needs like the balky sliding door and leaky windshields have led the service to increase the annual maintenance budget from $100 million to $500 million. A seat belt is about as modern as it gets for safety technology, and the USPS says that assuming things stay the same, it can't afford to run them beyond 2017. Last year it put out two triage requests for proposals seeking 10,000 new chassis and drivetrains for the Grumman and 10,000 new vehicles. The LLV is also too small for the modern mail system in which package delivery is growing and letter delivery is declining. The service says it doesn't have a fixed idea of the ideal "next-generation delivery vehicles," but it listed a number of requirements in its initial request and is open to any proposal. Carriers have some suggestions, though, saying they want better cupholders, sun visors that they can stuff letters behind, a driver's compartment free of slits that can swallow mail, and a backup camera. The request for information sent to automakers pegs the tender at 180,000 vehicles that would cost between $25,000 and $35,000 apiece, and it will hold a conference on February 18 to answer questions about the contract. GM is the only domestic maker to avow an interest, while Ford and Fiat-Chrysler have remained cagey. Yet with a possible $6.3 billion up for grabs and some new vans for sale that would be advertised on every block in the country, we have a feeling everyone will be listening closely come February 18. We also have a feeling the LeMons series is going to be flooded with Grummans come 2017. News Source: Wall Street Journal, Automotive News - sub.

Chevy's 6.6-liter Duramax is pretty much all new

Thu, Sep 29 2016

To say there's a heated battle in heavy-duty pickups is an understatement, with Chevrolet, Ford, and Ram constantly trading blows of increased torque, horsepower, and towing capacity. The latest salvo is the revised, more powerful turbo diesel 6.6-liter Duramax V8 in the 2017 Chevy Silverado. It has 910 pound-feet of torque, an increase of 145, putting it nearly level with the Ford Super Duty. Here's a closer look at where those gains come from. How exactly did Chevrolet add all that torque plus 48 horsepower? The automaker essentially took a fine-tooth comb to the entire engine. Chevy says it changed 90 percent of the V8, and the cumulative effect of those small changes adds up to big increases. As you might guess, the turbocharger is updated. The larger unit features electric actuation of the variable nozzle turbine (VNT), and what Chevy calls a double axle cartridge mechanism that separates the VNT moving parts from the housing. That helps with heat performance as well, with a claim that the exhaust side of the turbo can run continuously up to 1,436 degrees Fahrenheit. Helping that cause are six exhaust gaskets made of Inconel - an nickel alloy that contains chromium and iron – and upgraded stainless steel for the exhaust manifold. Despite having the same cast iron cylinder block, albeit with some minor enhancements, the engine has new cylinder heads, pistons, piston pins, connecting rods, and crankshaft, which have all been upgraded to handle 20 percent higher cylinder pressures. Alongside the increase in pressure, Chevrolet also increased the cylinder head's structure with a honeycomb design. The pattern features high-strength aluminum with dual layer water jackets that not only improve strength, but also optimize water flow for better cooling. For 2017, the cylinder head also benefits from integrated plenum that aids the engine in getting more air under heavy loads. The cylinder head isn't the only component to get a minor update, as the pistons have a larger diameter pin for improved oil flow. The same detailed improvements has been bestowed to the humble connecting rods (second in our hearts only to the inanimate carbon rod). The new design has the bolts oriented roughly 45-degrees to the rod instead of parallel. The angle split design, as it's called allows for easier passage through the cylinder.

GM to squeeze out more production capacity for midsize trucks

Tue, May 26 2015

General Motors was predicting a strong showing for the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon before they debuted, and demand among dealers for the midsize trucks even exceeded company's expectations. The positive situation has left GM with a problem, though: finding ways to increase capacity for the pickups at the Wentzville Assembly plant in Missiouri. With a third shift already running, GM has continued to look for ways to build just a few more of the trucks at the plant. The company has plans to hire as many as 1,000 more workers for the Saturday and Sunday shifts to construct an additional 2,000 pickups a month, according to unnamed insiders at the factory speaking to Automotive News. The little adjustments even extend to getting rid of an unpaid break to add 18 minute of assembly time over the course of a day, which equals about 3,500 more vehicles a year. All of this effort comes because the trucks are in such high demand. According to GM's figures, the company has delivered a combined 35,720 units of the Colorado and Canyon from January through April 2015, and the Chevy was the fastest-selling truck in the US for the previous three months. In May, it spent an average of just 12 days in showrooms before being snapped up. And even better for the company, 43 percent of these buyers came from other brands. According to Automotive News, the most popular trade-ins have included the Ford F-150, Toyota Tacoma, and Dodge Dakota. Related Video:
