1964 CHEVROLET NOVA SS SUPERSPORT 283 V8 AUTO NUMBERS MATCHING
The Nova is complete with original engine 283 correct numbers with powerglide transmission. The interior is original with bucket seats, console, padded dash and auto shift on the floor. The interior is complete and will need to be redone, but everything is there. The bucket seat mounting rails are in excellent conditon and work like new. I purchased this car in pieces as the prior owner was restoring it. I detailed the engine and reinstalled. I have not fired it yet as it needs wires run and accesories installed. A new front pump tranny seal was installed. Also it has correct fitting headers. The engine compartment was cleaned. sanded, sprayed with self-etching primer and painted with satin black corrosion frame paint. There were 3 areas of rust out in the engine compartment, 2 by the hood hinge and under the battery box. These areas were cut out and replaced{welded in} with new metal. The car structually is very solid. There is no rust in cowl area upper or lower. The frame rails look great as well as virtually everything underneath. The floor brace under the drivers seat needs partial replaceing. The floors have not been cut on. It needs right front floor panel and minor repair to left floor near the toe board and a small piece under the drivers seat. Trunk floor has som rust out, easiest to replace it. Exterior body need 2 new fenders or fix rust on corners, left rear lower quarter panel patch panel, right quarter complete and trunk dropoffs. Hood, doors, roof, trunk are good. 1 very small rust spot trunk undrside. Almost all exterior trim is on the car including front and rear bumpers. Dash in complete and appears no wires have been cut. This is a neat original car that has not been torn up or cut up for the dragstrip and would make a great ride when finished. This car has correct numbers matching 283 with auto, power steering, bucket seats, floor shift with console and is red on red which is tuff to beat!!! Please review description and photos, I have more if you have a specific concern. If have any question please contact Jim at 785-639-1122 prior to bidding. Car is listed locally. Good luck bidding and any questions please call. Thank you!

Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it
Wed, 06 Nov 2013We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.
Watch this time-lapse build of the Chevy SS for NASCAR
Fri, 08 Feb 2013There's only about a week left until we get our first look at the production version of the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan, but Chevrolet NASCAR teams have been looking at the race version of the car all winter. Autoweek has posted a really neat time-lapse video showing just a portion of what it takes to build one of NASCAR's new Gen6 stock cars.
Though the video is quite brief, it does show almost the entire build process starting with just the car's nose, and it gives us a good look at how integral the template is to the final product. As a bonus, Hendrick Motorsports also provided some videos showing two of its teams performing pit stop tests over the winter. The second video shows some of the more detailed aspects of the racecar's rear end, including the stock-looking trunk cutout and a newly mandated rear bumper extension that will be used on super speedways like Daytona and Talladega.
To see what Team Chevy has been up to all off-season, check out all three videos posted after the jump.
Fullsize GM SUVs have a problem that's making owners sick
Thu, Dec 31 2015Some fullsize SUV owners are getting sick, thanks to a buffeting and vibration problem in 2015 model year examples of the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban, Cadillac Escalade, and GMC Yukon. According to owners' complaints to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the issue can vary from an annoying vibration inside the cabin to an experience so severe that it leads to dizziness and headaches. General Motors is aware of the complaints, but the fix isn't so simple. According to spokesperson Tom Wilkinson to Autoblog, the company "has been tracking this issue for a while." The problem has a fairly low incidence rate, but when it does occur the issue can be "uncomfortable and annoying for owners." There's no precise cause for the issue, Wilkinson claims, and in some cases, simply balancing the tires or changing the door seals can make it go away. However, not all of the fixes are so simple. AutoGuide dug deep into the problem and discovered a GM preliminary information bulletin that advised dealers to remove the headliner and to check the roof's bonds to the bows that go across the vehicle. However, that document included a note that the solution might not entirely eliminate things. According to AutoGuide, adding Dynamat insulation to the roof sometimes helped the problem. A GM spokesperson also told AutoGuide the company fixed the problem at the end of the 2015 model year, and didn't go into any more detail. This roof issue seems linked to some of the worst droning in these SUVs. According to one complaint from a 2015 Suburban owner to NHTSA: "Roof will not remain attached to the roof bows. This causes the buffeting similar to a window being down when all are up. The results span from annoying to painful." A 2015 Yukon owner claims to have another alleged cause for the problem in a NHTSA complaint from February 2015. This person brought their SUV to the dealer seven times over the course of four weeks for vibrations. The dealer replaced the driveshaft, suspension components, and more, but nothing worked. According to an engineer to the service adviser: "In an effort to prevent roll overs, they designed the frame and body mounts too stiff. There are 40 engineers working on issues, they have no solutions that work across the board." Wilkinson told Autoblog that GM is working with customers on an individual basis to rectify things. Since these are newer vehicles, dealers should also fix the problem under warranty.
