White/burgundy 1987 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Ss on 2040-cars
Los Angeles, California, United States
This is a beautiful 1987 Monte Carlo SS. The car is in excellent condition. It has under 60,000 miles and the drivetrain has under 3,000 miles! The car is mostly all original with the exception of the sound system, engine and transmission. The sound system is a quality system all JL Audio components, including two amps, two W3 12" Subwoofers and original fit Kicker component speakers. The engine was built by Pacific Fabrication in the Silicon Valley. Its now has a 366ci LQ9 6.0L V8 with 210cc AFR heads, mid rise Edlebrock intake, topped with a 850cfm Holley carburetor. Long-tube headers connect to a true dual exhaust with a X pipe set up. The engine is connected to a stage 3 TH400 built by Bow-Tie Transmissions in Hesperia. All that equals out to 433hp going to the pavement (I have the Dyno test sheets to prove it). The exterior and interior are in pristine condition. This car is great for anyone who loves the classic Dale Earnhardt feel of the 80s Super Sports. This Super sport has what it takes to have some real fun as well, its no problem if you want to smoke some tires. I also have a set of Centerline Retro wheels that would look great on the car. Since I'm selling the car I decided not to put them on in order to keep them fresh in their box. The fronts are 17x8 and the rears are 17x9.5, They'll give the car a great muscle car look and feel.

These cars are headed to the Great Crusher In The Sky
Fri, 24 Aug 2012It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).
Check out our gallery of discontinued cars above, then scroll down for more information.

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.
