Up for bid is a clean rust free 1986 Monte Carlo SS.  I picked this car up a couple of weeks ago and finished up some loose ends on it and am ready to sell.  From what I was told, this is a three owner car that was given a light restoration last winter after spending many years in storage.  The paint job is decent for an amateur, I'd rate it a 6 or 7 out of 10.  The doors are a bit wavy and someone got carried away with the filler on the insides.  The rest of the body is very solid but has dings and waves here and there.

Interior has some fade and a crack or two on the dash pad, but overall in good original condition and I just installed a brand new headliner and a used Alpine CD player.  All gauges  and lights work.

Brakes and suspension have been freshened up, the front was lowered slightly for a better stance.  Exhaust is new and has Flowmasters (or knock offs, not sure) and sounds great.  Engine is stock accept for chrome, runs great, 4 barrel carb.  Has Air conditioning but I don't know if it works, heat works great  Transmission is automatic with overdrive.  Rear end ratio unknown, likely stock, and is open, not posi.

Wheels are 15" GM Rally's, tires are 235 60 R15 with lots of tread.

This is a great running and driving car and most states should be old enough for classic registration and insurance, way cheaper than standard.

Please call or text 269 270 8188 with and questions or email me through eBay.  I'm not a dealer, just a guy who digs for old cars and gets them ready for the next guy.

I'VE DESCRIBED THIS CAR AS HONESTLY AS POSSIBLE, IT'S 27 YEARS OLD AND BEING SOLD AS-IS NO WARRANTY OR RETURNS

$250 DEPOSIT DUE WITHIN 48 HOURS OF AUCTION END.  ALL NEW EBAYERS OR ZERO FEEDBACK PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING,,,,,,,,,THANKS

The Chevrolet Bolt is headed to China as a Buick SUV

Thu, Jan 16 2020

When spy photos of what appeared to be Chevrolet Bolt EV with some minor front- and rear-end updates circulated last week, Autoblog surmised that GM was working on some sort of Bolt-based vehicle — potentially a crossover — to be sold in China as a Buick. We may just have corroboration for that theory. On Thursday, Motor1.com spotted a story published earlier this week on the Chinese site Auto Home which claims that GM has applied to sell an all-electric SUV under the Velite 7 nameplate in China.  There's little differentiating the Velite 7's exterior from the Bolt EV's, apart from bumpers, badges, and a little extra ground clearance. Up front, the bowtie is replaced by a round Buick badge, and the bumper picks up an almost Prius-like appearance thanks to contrasting vertical elements and a thin grille bleeding into the head lights to give it a full-width appearance. Chevy Bolt-based prototype View 16 Photos If the Chinese report is accurate, there is one significant difference under the skin. Per the application, the Buick crossover variant is to be powered by a 174-horsepower electric powertrain. That's down 26 horsepower from the Bolt EV's powertrain, and we can't help but think that a lifted Buick variant might just need every pony it can get.  The needs of the Chinese market are unique, and we're certain GM knows what it's doing if these figures are accurate. We have no reason to believe Buick plans to sell the Velite 7 EV here in the States, though we expect an updated Chevy Bolt eventually, and we wouldn't be surprised if Buick brings something along shortly to fill the void left by the departure of the Regal sedan and its variants.  Related Video:

Surprise! GM putting aluminum in next-gen pickups

Wed, Aug 5 2015

Last month, General Motors launched a series of ads touting the benefits of steel over aluminum – specifically, with regard to the Chevy Silverado versus the Ford F-150. (Kind of. We're not sure what a grizzly bear has to do with anything.) We took issue with the ads, with editor in chief Mike Austin saying they "reek of insecurity, and distract from the Silverado's strengths that could be used for positive advertising." But what bothers us more, is that yet another report surfaced claiming anti-aluminum GM will indeed use the weight-saving material in its next-generation fullsize trucks. On Tuesday, GM announced a $877-million investment for its truck plant in Flint, MI. But Reuters says that huge overhaul is because the trucks will use "substantially different equipment than the tools GM uses today." The report specifically states, "People familiar with the company's plans say GM's next-generation pickups and SUVs will make use of various materials, including aluminum and lightweight steel, to shed weight and gain fuel efficiency to meet tougher federal standards." The Silverado already uses a few aluminum components in the engine and hood, and if more widespread use will help GM build its best fullsize trucks ever, then that's great. Honestly, we have no reason to doubt that aluminum will be used in the next Silverado and GMC Sierra. We just hope GM remembers that nothing is ever truly deleted from the bowels of the Internet when it launches the subsequent "look how great aluminum is!" campaign. C7 Corvette turbo with 1,000 horsepower promised from Hennessey

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

If you can't wait for the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Hennessey says they will have you covered. The Texas-based company has announced it will offer a spate of upgrades for the 2014 Corvette ranging from a range of bolt-on options all the way up to a 1,000-horsepower, twin-turbo system. Buyers can start with a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust or stainless steel long-tube headers, but Hennessey says it will also offer up three stages of forced induction mayhem should those bits and baubles not provide enough thrust.
Those choices start with a supercharger system good for up to 700 hp, though Hennessey will gladly ditch the blower in favor of two turbos. Doing so will spin the crank to the tune of 800 horsepower all the way up to a certifiably ludicrous 1,000 ponies. There's no word on how much these tricks will cost you - or when they will be available, as we're guessing they haven't gotten their hands on the car yet - but you can head over to the Hennessey site to drop them a line if you're curious.
