Hi, For Sale I have a 1971 Monte Carlo with  68,400 original miles.  I have a clean and clear North Carolina title and Bill of sale. The engine is a 350 and has a 350 turbo transmission. Engine and trans are taken out but come with it. Nothing is wrong with the 3 speed transmission. Even the $250.00 fold able engine stand goes with it. It has a 12 bolt posi rear end. Minor rust is on top of car after The old vinyl top was taken off, no rust gone through on top. Yes I have both side emblems in perfect condition. Some surface rust on top where vinyl is removed, no rust through spots. Engine needs rebuilt due to age. It needs minor exterior restoration and very minor interior restoration. It still has the original Frigidaire air-conditioning compressor and has been transferred to r-134. It worked very well and all lights when running 2 years ago.  Door panels and covers look great.  Has some rust through spots behind chrome on bottom rear of 3 fenders.  Cannot see it unless you lay down or feel it.   The original front fender wells are there also. It has been garage kept for 3 years. The original paint code is 24-24, which is ascot blue. It was restored once. It only has one very small ding in front driver quarter panel. Nowhere else. Has rust on rim of trunk rim under seal and needs new vinyl top. It needs new exhaust system, I have the original exhaust manifolds. no interior rust. Maybe a new headliner.  front hood is in great condition, no dings.  no rust that I had  seen with under insulation.  emblem on it is from the 72 model i believe. Has some Trunk hood rust, one spot on right side, pinhole rust. Automatic Shifting is at steering column. Has a Performance Stant dual core radiator in great condition.  Engine block is made in Mexico.    Needs new seals and cleaned up due to sitting.  Original 4 barrel Rochester carburetor needs rebuilt. Comes with hei replacement distributor, new belts, new brake pads, and shoes.  Has front discs and rear drums. new oil filter, new spark plugs and wires, original distributor, original starter, the alternator, fuel pump. Original 5th tire full spare and jack set, and extra head light. Any thing to do with the car comes with it.  It has no cracks or dings on any original glass on vehicle. Front end and back end chrome bumper and grill are in great condition.  Has some very small rust spots, but just needs buffed. All windows including third windows work well. Original power steering worked well. Had master cylinder replaced 4 years ago. It's a rare muscle car for the working mileage gauge at 68,400 miles.  Sold in as-is condition. Local pickup only, vehicle and accessories need towing, not included in price.  I know of me being the third owner.  I accept cash only.  Is it a great restorable car to buy you ask? Its from 1971, my other vehicles from 1995 and above have way more mileage and a lot more specifics to work on. Sell the parts separately for lots more than I'm asking.  If you have any questions, feel free to ask.  no reserve.  Happy Bidding.

Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat vs. Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in latest Head 2 Head

Fri, Jan 30 2015

"Olympian" is one of the terms we use to signify the greatest height, the seat of the gods. Yet Mt. Olympus is the second-highest peak in the Balkans ranges, overshadowed by the crest at Musala in Bulgaria's Rila mountains. Both great heights, but one is a little higher. That's how we get the Olympian Chevy Camaro ZL1 pitched at the Musalic Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in Motor Trend's latest episode of Head 2 Head. The side-by-side spec sheet is filled with farcical numbers. For the ZL1, that's a 6.2-liter V8 with 580 horsepower, 556 pound-feet of torque, a 4,051-pound curb weight, 0-to-60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds, a quarter-mile time of 12.2 seconds and a base price of just $57,800. Opposing that, the Hellcat wrings out its 6.2-liter V8 for 707 hp, 650 lb-ft of torque, weighs 4,449 pounds, does the quarter in 11.7 seconds and has a base price of just $60,990. Except in the case of the Hellcat, when Motor Trend put it on the dyno the machine spit out a reading of 672 hp and 606 lb-ft at the wheels. If there's a 10-percent driveline loss through those beefed-up internals and heavy-duty eight-speed transmission, that means the Hellcat is actually rated at about 750 horsepower and 700 lb-ft. But once they get put on a closed-off strip of coast road in Northern California, there are only a few strands of hair between their respective performances. That's not the case for they sensations provide; host Jonny Lieberman calls one of them, "One of the most incredible cars ever made," and says, "It changes everything." Watch the video above to see who got the verdict and how. Related Video:

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible is the track car for sun worshippers

Fri, 11 Apr 2014

Supercharged, 6.2-liter V8? Check. Seven-speed manual? Check. Obsession with weight? Check.
What did you expect when Chevrolet said it was bringing a new Corvette variant to the 2014 New York Auto Show? Maybe a sticker and trim package, like the C6 Corvette Grand Sport or a tie-in deal like the Black Widow car from Chicago? On the opposite end, maybe there was an even more hardcore Z06 waiting in the wings. Who knew?

China's rise, global restructuring wither GM's Korea division

Wed, Jan 7 2015

An article in the Daily Kanban suggests the sun is setting on GM Korea, and it could already be well into dusk. GM Korea came about when General Motors, along with co-investors SAIC and Suzuki, bought Daewoo Motors from parent company Daewoo Group in 2001; it had a previous tie-up with GM, a joint venture that ended in 1992, although Daewoo cars were based on GM cars until 1996. Over the decade following the purchase, it became such an important part of operations that it was renamed GM Korea in 2011, "to reflect its heightened status in [the] global operations of GM." Just two years later, the printed rumors were that the subsidiary responsible for a fifth of Chevrolet's global production could be shutting down. The division's sales were down almost 21 percent through November of last year, counting domestic South Korean sales, exports, and CKD – Complete Knock Down – products. That makes the labor strife, already an issue for four years, even more acute, reports say the subsidiary will lose $36 million a year if it can't get the job and wage cuts it wants, and government concessions can't make up for the losses. And it gets worse, so head over to Daily Kanban to read the rest of the story.
