1968 Chevy Chevlle Malibu 4 Door Sedan on 2040-cars

Year:1968 Mileage:108300
Location:

Chandler, Arizona, United States

This is a 1968 Chevy Malibu 4 door sedan 307ci/Powerglide - V8, Vin # 136698K100283. Model 136698 - 8 cylinders only 30,772 produced.

The car is a 2 owner car, driven by an older woman until she passed away. It had been sitting since 2009 until I bought it from

my neighbor who never drove it from his acquisition in 2009. This car is an excellent Survivor Car with 108,300 original miles

and still runs awesome! I drive it from time to time to keep the engine running smoothly. Not one bit of smoke or any oil leaks.

It could use a good tranny tune up, due to sitting period before I got it. Drive gear slips a little, but I think it just needs a new tranny

filter and a shift kit installed. It starts and drives like a champ. Low gear and reverse work great no slippage at all.

This is also a factory AC car, and the AC Pump is still operational. Just needs recharged and tuned up. AC Clutch engages

when I tested the system. Car has power steering (No Squealing!) pump is perfect. The heater core may need replacing,

but in Arizona who needs a heater! J The tires are in excellent shape still and it still has the original hub caps, & spare tire.

It is missing 1 small piece of trim on the passenger side of the car, but easy to find and replace.

NEW PARTS: Parts replaced since I bought the car are as follows: All new belts, Oil filter, new Radiator (Original Owner replaced),

new Sway Bar links and bushings, new starter, new battery and cables, Completely rebuilt brake system (Includes Master Cylinder)

minus the hubs and brake lines (Did this for safety) including wheel bearings. Turn Signal Unit, Vacuum Canister and Air & Fuel Filters.

The paint is an original white (Faded), has a few small dents in the front fenders but nothing to major. I highlight some the body

damage in the photos. As you can see, there are some very small rust areas in the front fenders. This is an Arizona car, so most

of the rust in surface rust spots only. All Pans are in excellent shape!

The Interior is all there and completely original, the steering wheel is cracked, but not to bad. The front & back seats are original and surprisingly still firm with no tears or holes, just faded as expected. All belts present. Radio is not functioning right now. (Haven’t checked it out yet probably minor issue) Wipers and lights work great. Heater controls good except for the AC/Heater switch that seems stuck in the Heat position at the moment. No fan yet either. (Again no troubleshooting yet). The headliner is the only truly bad part of the car due to the AZ heat. All windows are excellent and operational. Even the dome is working and intact. Carpet is wore but still good as well, could use a cleaning along with seats.

2015 Chevy Impala Bi-fuel burns CNG, starts at $37,385*

Tue, May 6 2014

Currently, the only natural-gas-powered passenger car offered for sale by an OEM in the US is the Honda Civic Natural Gas. Starting this fall, that long-running CNG car will be joined by a CNG-burning 2015 Chevy Impala for both fleet and retail customers. General Motors announced today that the car will start at $37,385, plus an $825 destination charge. That comes to $38,210 before taxes and options. Those options include two trim lines, the base LS and the upper-level LT. Chevy doesn't break out the details in the press release announcing the price, but you can see the trim details for the standard gas-powered 2014 Impala here. Exact information on the 2015 models is not available just yet, but GM spokesman Chad Lyons told AutoblogGreen that the equipment that you see listed on the site for 2014 is "almost exactly the same" as what will be available for 2015. The 2015 Impala gets around 19 city mpg on CNG, but official EPA numbers are not yet available. That means the LS will come with 18-inch aluminum wheels, electric variable-assist power steering, projector-beam headlamps, and 10 air bags. The LT adds an eight-inch touch screen with MyLink, premium Cloth interior and dual-zone automatic climate controls. The cost for this upgrade is unspecified. For CNG purposes, we can ignore the numerical prefix used for the gas-powered LT trims, since that denominates the engine type, and all the CNG models use a 3.6-liter engine with hardened valves and valve seats that can better handle natural gas. The trunk capacity also drops from 18.8 cubic feet to 10 cu .ft. in order to fit in the CNG tank that holds the equivalent of 7.8 gallons of gas. That amount of CNG should move you 150 city miles, which is around 19 mpg, but official EPA numbers are not yet available. With the addition of the gasoline on board, the overall range is 500 city miles. The car burns CNG when available and switches to gas with "no interruption" either when the tank is empty or when the driver selects the gas tank. Find more details in the press release below. GM says the CNG Impala will will be available nationwide this fall. CNG is a growing fuel in the US, thanks in part to fracking. The Civic Natural Gas, which starts at $26,640, is growing towards a nationwide availability. Next year, for example, the Shell Eco-marathon Americas in Detroit will allow CNG for the first time. 2016 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon recalled for opening console lids

Mon, Dec 28 2015

The Basics: General Motors is recalling 9,200 examples of the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado with build dates between August 25, 2015 and September 24, 2015, and the 2016 GMC Canyon manufactured from August 28, 2015 to September 24, 2015. In total, 8,763 of these pickups are in the US, and the rest are in Canada or Mexico. The Problem: The console compartment lid could open in a crash, and the items inside the storage compartment might hit occupants during the accident. This fault puts the pickups out of compliance with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard. Injuries/Deaths: None reported. The fix: Dealers will replace the console compartment door latch assembly with an improved part. If you own one: GM has not yet told NHTSA when the repairs for these pickups begin. Related Video: RECALL Subject : Console Door may not Fully Latch/FMVSS 201 Report Receipt Date: DEC 01, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V807000 Component(s): LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES Potential Number of Units Affected: 8,763 All Products Associated with this Recall Vehicle MakeModelModel Year(s) CHEVROLET COLORADO 2016 GMC CANYON 2016 Details Manufacturer: General Motors LLC SUMMARY: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2016 Chevrolet Colorado trucks manufactured August 25, 2015 to September 24, 2015, and GMC Canyon trucks manufactured August 28, 2015 to September 24, 2015. The affected vehicles have a console compartment lid latch assembly that may fail to keep the compartment door closed in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 201, "Occupant Protection in Interior Impact." CONSEQUENCE: If the console compartment door does not remain closed in a crash, the contents stored in the console may strike the vehicle occupants, increasing their risk of injury. REMEDY: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the console compartment door latch assembly, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 16370. Stolen '57 Chevy Returned To Owner After 30 Years

Fri, Feb 21 2014

Three decades after it was stolen, a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air has been returned to a Northern California man - in better shape than when he originally owned it. The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports Ian "Skip" Wilson was shocked to get a call from the California Highway Patrol informing him that his long-lost Chevy was taken off an Australia-bound cargo ship. The 65-year-old says the car has had a lot of work done on it since it disappeared from his Lake County home in 1984. It was returned with a monogrammed interior, 17-inch racing wheels, rack-and-pinion steering and a 350-horsepower V-8 engine. The retired mechanic says the two-door was in sorry shape when he bought it for $375 in 1975 with plans for fixing it up.
