This is a very nice 1968 chevelle, My dream was always to buy a 68/69 chevelle and restore it. I started looking and realized i could buy one that was already restored and make it what i wanted for 1/2 the price. well, about 6 months ago i did just that. I bought a 1968 chevelle locally that was a complete original restoration for 15,500.00
I started by buying some custom made wheels ( rear are custom made for the huge offset)  18x8.5 on front and 20x10.5 on back. I didn't want to big as i was going for that pro touring look. They have less than 200 miles on them and they were 2800.00 with tires. It had the stock rebuilt numbers matching 327 that was OK but i wanted more. I enlisted a local shop that build drag car motors to take the motor and build it. They suggested a 385 stoker and that's what i went with.
partial rundown on motor ( every moving part, nut and bolt is brand new) It runs like a raped ape but is very very smooth and gets 20mpg going 65-70 ( 2000-2200 RPM) Shes sporting a Bcool dual fan setup that works off a temp switch also.. very cool keeps it nice and cool wile in traffic
10-5-1 compression ( runs good on 93)
speed pro pistons
scat forged crank
scat forged rods
Pete Jackson gear drive
550/550 lift cam ( choppy but good brakes, streetabilty)
custom aluminum heads 202-160 valves
comp rollers
4150 holley double pumper  ( mechanical )
hooker headers
performer intake
1608 stat
HEI dist
and so on, I spent 3000.00 having motor built ( 1500 miles )

After i had it put in it was obvious the 350 turbo trans wanted NOTHING to do with this motor..
I had a local trans shop build a 4l60E trans with lockup in overdrive with a slightly over stock tci converter ( raptor 700 ) as i wanted to travel with this car with the wife on the power block tour.

The interior was completely redone to original, id say its flawless but pics show its a little dirty but i will clean it up really nice if it sells. body is near flawless with minor rick chips as this is a 10 year old restoration i was told. The paint looks flawless from 10 feet away but close inspection it shows some light sand scratches under hard inspection. Most of the time can only see them under gas station lights at night for some reason.

The car was a frame off restoration, frame is spotless, every bushing and bearing was replaced. all stainless steal brake lines. under body is original and shows original undercoating.

NOT SO GOOD ABOUT HER, when i put the front timing cover on i must have messed up the gasket a bit because it has a ever so slight seep of oil coming out of it,
paint has some BB size rock chips, small paint bubbles ( not rust ) some of the 45 year old chrome is showing age ( door handles comes to mind)   a/c isn't hooked up nor do i have a compressor, heat isn't very good because of the low temp tstat,  i have yet to put new corrected speed o gears  in ( will make speedo accurate )
i need to clean up a few wires the hook. Im going to try to fix the leak, speedo and wiring...
That's about it really
it has a
Over all this car is a sexy stunning car, better for the driver not the show queen. she has her flaws but shes 45 years old but will still hold her own on the steet with any modern muscle car.  Please look over pics very carefully. You more then welcome to inspect car anytime before bidding..

Recharge Wrap-up: Chevy Volt CarPlay video, Tesla Supercharger importance

Fri, Feb 5 2016

A video demonstrates Apple CarPlay on the touch display in the next-generation Chevrolet Volt. The Volt's eight-inch (bigger than an iPad Mini) capacitive display is capable of putting Siri and your iPhone apps and right at your fingertips. It's "the best CarPlay display I've seen," says the user in the video. In case you're not in the market for a new Volt, 9to5Mac offers some of its favorite aftermarket CarPlay screens. See the video above, and read more at 9to5Mac. A single Supercharger can make a big difference in the life of a Tesla owner. Teslarati's Electric Jen talks about purchasing a Model S, being assured by both Tesla employees and the map of planned Supercharger sites that one would be built along an important route for her. With the construction being pushed back, it made visiting family tricky. "As if owning such a grand car isn't embarrassing enough, asking for a ride to drop off and pick up said car because you can't make it home without charging really made me feel awkward," she says. "You see, one single charging location can mean the world to some people," Jen adds. Read the whole article at Teslarati. Tesla once had considered creating mobile range extender trailers for the Model S. Elon Musk touched upon the abandoned idea during his visit to Paris. While Tesla ultimately dismissed the concept, Nomadic Power has taken the opportunity to hitch their product onto the Tesla brand. "We are delighted, that Tesla Motors' CEO Elon Musk is thinking about a concept like ours for even more extending the range of the Tesla models," says Nomadic Power's CEO Manfred Baumgaertner. He adds, "This confirms our approach to build a long distance mobility provider for all electric vehicles on the market." If you say so, Baumgaertner. When the batteries have degraded to the point that they're no longer suitable for use on the road, they still have a significant capacity that can be used for other purposes. Still useful for stationary storage, they can be used to support charging sites in order to allow for faster charging. The stationary batteries can charge slowly at the site, but then offer up the juice in a hurry when it's needed for a vehicle. Read more from Renault.

GM Design shows what could have been and what might be

Thu, May 27 2021

We periodically like to check in with GM Design's Instagram account to see what they're cooking up. Even better is when we catch a glimpse of an alternate history of what legendary designers from The General's past were thinking, though those ideas may not have made it into production. This week, for example, the account posted some illustrations from George Camp, whose career at GM spanned nearly four decades, from 1963 to 2001. One of the renderings is of what appears to be a 1971-72 Pontiac GTO Judge, but with two headlights instead of the production unit's quad beams. The rear departs from the canonical version most dramatically, with a massive integrated wing. Other bits that didn't make the production cut include large side vents, a gill-like side marker and rectangular intakes below the headlights that wouldn't be out of place on a modern design today. Amazingly, from what we can make out of the date, it appears that the drawing was done sometime in 1965, which makes it quite prescient.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) There's also a very aerodynamic interpretation of a Corvette ZR-1. To our eyes it splits the difference between the 1986 Corvette Indy concept and a fourth-generation F-body Pontiac Firebird, so perhaps parts of Camp's work on this sketch did make it into physical form. There's also a radical sports car concept from May 1970 that resembles the Mazda RX-500 concept from the same year, a Syd Mead-looking Cadillac coupe, and an Oldsmobile with a cool take on the company's trademark waterfall grille and elements of the Colonnade Cutlass at the rear. Other recent posts include a FJ Cruiser-like off-road EV, a sleek coupe with the Chevy corporate grille, and a rendering of a Silverado-esque pickup that looks far better than the current production version.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) It's pretty easy to lose hours in the account, but it's always fascinating to see GM's visions of what could have been and what might be. Forza Motorsport 6's new drivable Hot Wheels cars are the best

Tue, May 3 2016

Each month, Turn 10 Studios releases a new car pack for the latest installment of its Forza Motorsport video game. Sometimes that means less-than-exciting stuff coming to our Xbox Ones – BMW X6M, bleh – but this time our inner seven-year-old is beyond ecstatic. Two of the seven cars are based on actual Hot Wheels models. And. They're. Awesome. First we have the 2011 Hot Wheels Bone Shaker. Yes, there are flames on the side. And yes, there's a giant skull where the grille should be. This one came from the imagination of "Mr. Hot Wheels" Larry Wood, whose design was so popular it inspired an actual real-world creation. Like all good things in this world, it's powered by a small-block Chevy V8. Oh, and it has no roof. This will be a popular one among gamers. The other digitized Hot Wheels creation is a 2005 Ford Mustang. A modest vehicle, sure, but the toy designers have festooned this pony car with a wild paint scheme and the body mods to emphasize it. Originally developed to celebrate the 'Stang's 50th birthday, this Hot Wheels car trades Americana for wild Japanese style. There's just one functioning life-size version of this car in existence as well, but if you look hard, you might be able to find one of the 1:64 scale models that inspired it. Other highlights from this month's car pack include the latest Ford Focus RS – finally time to replace that NASCAR-V8-powered, all-wheel-drive 2009 Focus RS – the 2015 McLaren P1 GTR, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS, the aforementioned X6M, and Alain Prost's 1990 Ferrari 641 F1 car. The Hot Wheels Car Pack is available for download today.
