1966 Chevelle Convertible Ss Tribute on 2040-cars
Hattiesburg, Mississippi, United States
Up for sale is my 1966 Chevelle Convertible. It is a fun to drive car with no major issues. I do not consider it a show car although it has won Best of Show this year. Body is lazer straight and the paint quality is a 9 out of 10. It does have a few rock pecks and it may have a scratch or two although I have not seen any. The clock isn't working in the center console and the original radio doesn't work. All lights, blinkers, horn, speedo, fuel gauges work fine. It has a power top that works great. Installed a new Griffin aluminum radiator that keeps her cool during the hottest weather. Car is solid with new floor pans. Looks to me that all the exterior sheet metal is original. Interior is in great shape. Convertible top is in great shape. I have had the car a year and went to several car shows and went to Cruizin the Coast for a week in it. I have a 1969 Camaro convertible I want to finish is the reason I'm selling it otherwise I would keep it. Paint is Marina Blue and is two years old. Engine - 454 cu. in 4 bolt main with chrome valve covers Edelbrock intake, and new 770cfm Holley Ultra street carb. OEM exhaust manifolds, HEI distributer. Transmission- 350 with stock converter Rear end- 10 bolt 3.73 gears. Power steering and Power front disc brakes. New wheels and tires 20's on the rear and 18's on the front. New convertible top boot (black) New trunk mat and spare tire cover. Has a new stereo with a 8" tube Power Bass amp. Also has an amp for the front speakers. I would suggest to anyone to just come look at the car and decide for yourself. If you win the auction or hit "Buy it Now" and get here and don't like it I will refund your deposit and no negative feedback will be given. Just don't play games. Don't get here and try and reduce price, You will be asked to leave! I reserve the right to end the auction early as it is for sale locally. |

Chevrolet SS previewed by Holden VF Commodore SS V show car
Thu, 14 Feb 2013It won't be long before we see the official, production-ready Chevrolet SS sedan (hint: it will be revealed this weekend). And to tide us over until all of the official details are released about the US-spec version, we have this: the Holden VF Commodore SS V show car, a performance-oriented brother to the Calais V that debuted earlier in the week.
What we really want to know about the SS V is what lies underhood, but General Motors' Australian arm is keeping that under wraps until the Chevy model breaks cover this weekend. Nevertheless, it's obvious that the SS V will be a serious performer, with all sorts of aggressive cues driving that home on the car's exterior. Take a look at those 20-inch billet aluminum wheels that hide big Brembo brake calipers up front, the sculpted hood and front fascia, the wide air intakes with LED running lights and the quad exhaust pipes out back. It's like the Pontiac G8 GXP never even left us.
Inside, there's a sporty-looking interior with aluminum accents that mix in with black leather and suede surfaces, all tied together in the middle with an eight-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system. It looks great, and again, while we don't know anything regarding powertrain details, it makes us oh-so happy to see a manual shifter smack dab in the middle of the center console.
China's rise, global restructuring wither GM's Korea division
Wed, Jan 7 2015An article in the Daily Kanban suggests the sun is setting on GM Korea, and it could already be well into dusk. GM Korea came about when General Motors, along with co-investors SAIC and Suzuki, bought Daewoo Motors from parent company Daewoo Group in 2001; it had a previous tie-up with GM, a joint venture that ended in 1992, although Daewoo cars were based on GM cars until 1996. Over the decade following the purchase, it became such an important part of operations that it was renamed GM Korea in 2011, "to reflect its heightened status in [the] global operations of GM." Just two years later, the printed rumors were that the subsidiary responsible for a fifth of Chevrolet's global production could be shutting down. The division's sales were down almost 21 percent through November of last year, counting domestic South Korean sales, exports, and CKD – Complete Knock Down – products. That makes the labor strife, already an issue for four years, even more acute, reports say the subsidiary will lose $36 million a year if it can't get the job and wage cuts it wants, and government concessions can't make up for the losses. And it gets worse, so head over to Daily Kanban to read the rest of the story.
C7 Corvette makes inaugural ad appearance in Chevy's first spot with new slogan
Mon, 11 Feb 2013Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" tagline has finally been run into the ground, replaced with the Bowtie brand's "Find New Roads" slogan that's part of parent General Motors' plan to unify its everyday brand's marketing efforts worldwide. The new Chevrolet campaign was ushered in on prime time last night during the Grammy Awards on CBS, and the first spot, a 90-second full-line ad, also marks the first appearance of the 2014 Corvette Stingray in a commercial.
Being a full-line ad, the commercial is composed of vignettes centered on different vehicles in the brand's lineup. The all-new 2014 Impala also makes its first commercial appearance in dapper fashion, and time is spent on a skateboarding Sonic and a bouquet of brightly colored Spark hatchbacks driven by fashionable women. The ad starts and ends with Chevy's green halo car, the Volt, along with a young girl with her robotic dog (yes, really).
Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" campaign got off to a rocky start in the fall of 2010, but it did last for a couple of years with some tweaks. This new one, "Find New Roads" seems more intent on drawing new customers into the fold than the outgoing tagline, which seemed to play more toward the brand faithful. It admittedly reminds us more than a little the short-lived "Find Your Own Road" Saab motto (which, we note, was conceived while the Swedish brand was under GM's control), but no matter, we still think it's got more long-term potential than "Runs Deep."
