I'm selling my 64 Malibu SS with a rebuilt 283 engine and 700 R transmission. Not in the car but also included is the original 283 engine and 2 speed power glide transmission. This car has power brakes, power steering, new duel exhaust, new tires, new body trim ,new bumpers,all new front bushings and new rubber trim throughout. I have the original 14" wheels with the SS hub caps. The body is straight and paint has a few minor scratches but still looks great. The interior is in great condition, with new carpet and upholstery with new speakers ready for the stereo of your choice. The engine has chrome Edlebrock valve covers, new high torque starter and new battery. This car runs great. It has been garaged and covered the entire time I have owned it . I have the original manual, all the receipts back from the original owner to now. This is a 98% complete car, all original with only a few minor things needed to complete her. The headliner and sun visors need to be re-upholstered, ( I have both brand new in a box to be installed) and the driver side wind wing needs glass or I have a used one to be installed. I have many original parts included in the sale of the car. Current registration until August 2014. Please no Trades, and no Low Ballers. More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1
Thu, 28 Feb 2013During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
Chevrolet Malibu gets across-the-board price cuts, hopes to dig out of slump
Mon, 11 Feb 2013To say that things aren't going well for the newly redesigned 2013 Chevrolet Malibu is a pretty sizable understatement. Reports have been swirling about the Malibu getting an emergency design refresh, less than a year after its introduction, as well as having its production at the Fairfax Assembly Plant halted twice already this year for excessive inventory. Now, Motor Trend is reporting that the midsize sedan will be receiving price drops across the board ranging from $300 on a number of models up to $770 on the 1LT trim; offsetting some of MSRP drop, though, the destination charge has increased from $760 to $810.
Without destination, the entry-level Malibu LS now starts at $21,995, which is still about $300 more than a Honda Accord and about $300 less than the segment's top-selling Toyota Camry. This new pricing also drops the price of the Eco, 2LT and 3LT trims by $300. The LTZ trim has dropped by $415, meaning that the Malibu's top dog now starts at just under $30,000, excluding destination.
