I am selling my 1976 Chev Malibu to a good home . Here is some history on the car. The original owner passed away and the car was put into storage on blocks for 24 years. The 2nd owner had a new gas tank, radiator, brakes, shocks, complete tune up, new battery and Radiator. They barely used the car in the time they owned it . I purchased the car 5 years ago and have taken good care of it since. I have done a few things to the car in the time I have owned it such as, New BF Goodrich T/A tires ( less than 200 miles on the tires and I have the original tires still for the car, the spare tire is original) New dual exhaust with catalytic converters, New springs, changed the a/c over to R134 and works well ( blower switch needs to be replaced as it will not blow on high setting) I have had all the fluids in the car replaced as well . The car has power steering , power brakes. I also have a new complete weather stripping kit as well as new hood insulation and door sill plates and a new master cylinder, deck lid and new hood ornament ( not included in the sale price ) These items I will sell for an additional price if you are interested. More pictures are available if requested. I have babied this car since I have owned it and only used it for car shows. It is all original including the paint ( paint cracking, GM lacquer paint is bad for this ) . there is a little bubbling under the original vinyl and the glue is starting to show through ... the roof will need to be replaced but has no rips . The body has a few very small dents but nothing major , there is no rust on the car ! The interior is perfect ! never smoked in and the seats as well as the carpet and head liner is perfect with no rips, the dash is perfect with no cracks ! the car runs very well but the seals will need replacing at some point from age . The transmission has a leak but shifts smoothly. I have no reservations on driving this car anywhere as it runs very well. It does smoke when you first start it but it does NOT BURN OIL ! ( I was told by a mechanic I need to replace the valve stem seals or the car just needs a good run from sitting all the time. I don't have the time to work on or fully enjoy this car and it just sits in the garage 99% of the time. I have an appraisal which values the car at 8000.00 before I had the new tires and dual exhaust added.

Corvette Stingray Convertible images mysteriously appear on web, so we add our own
Tue, 22 Jan 2013It was inevitable that we'd see the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray topless at some point, but that didn't make us any less interested when a pair of supposedly leaked official images showed up on theautoinsiderblog.com last week. We posted them on our Facebook page, but held off reporting on them here until we could get a little more information.
Those images, which feature a dark red car on a sterile black studio background, supposedly first appeared on the website of diecast model maker Maisto. A Chevrolet spokesman has been reported saying that they are "not official images released by Chevrolet PR," which isn't a denial they're the real deal, but neither is it a confirmation.
Close examination of the photos suggest they could be official shots of the Corvette Stingray Convertible, and while some have doubted their authenticity due to a lack of vents (which were seen on the C7s that debuted in Detroit last week), it could be that the images are of a base model car without the Z51 package that doesn't require the extra venting and cooling.
Bob Lutz says Tesla remains 'fringe' brand
Sun, Sep 28 2014We've said it before, we'll said it again: Bob Lutz gives great quotes. From his toilet-themed opinion of global warming to Toyota's deity status, the man knows how to get your attention. His latest? Saying that Tesla Motors is and will remain a fringe brand. Take that, Tesla fanbois. This, of course, is the same fringe company that prompted Lutz and his former colleagues at General Motors to start working on the Chevy Volt around eight years ago. The same fringe company that has easily outsold the similarly priced (but don't call it a competitor) Cadillac ELR with its Model S. Lutz did clarify that the fringe status will only last until Tesla comes out with a mass-market electric vehicle that has a range of 200 to 300 miles. Lutz was on CNBC talking about the TSLA stock's recent performance, and he pointed out that even Tesla CEO Elon Musk says that the California automaker's stock is overvalued these days. Despite its prevalence around these parts, Tesla is not yet a household brand. But the company is working hard to get a cheaper, long-range EV to market in the not-too-distant future, so this fringe thing may not last much longer than that show Fringe did. GM recalls Colorado, Canyon, and Malibu for airbag problem
Wed, Mar 9 2016The Basics: General Motors will recall and issue a stop sale on 1,740 total examples of the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, Malibu, and GMC Canyon. This includes 1,579 units in the US and 161 in Canada. The Problem: The second stage of the driver front airbag inflator might not be present. If this happens, the airbag won't fill as quickly as it should in a high-speed crash, which could increase the risk of injury, according to Reuters. This is not related in any way to Takata's inflator problems, and these parts come from a different supplier. Injuries/Deaths: None reported. The Fix: GM will replace the vehicles' airbag assemblies. If You Own One: GM spokesperson Tom Wilkinson told Autoblog he wasn't specifically sure when recall repairs would begin but said it would be "shortly." He expects the fixes to happen "quickly" because of the small number of affected vehicles, and many of them are either in transport or already in dealer stock. More Information: GM recalled the 2015 Canyon and Colorado in 2014 for a completely separate airbag issue. In that case, a manufacturing error improperly wired the connectors. Related Video: GM Statement GM is recalling 1,579 MY 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Malibu vehicles in the United States and 161 in Canada to replace driver-side front airbags. The second stage of the airbag may not deploy properly in certain high-speed crashes. During a routine quality inspection, it was determined that a component required for a second-stage/high-output deployment was not loaded during the inflator build. Dealers will replace the driver-side front airbag assembly. There have been no reports of crashes or injuries related to this issue. This issue is unrelated to the ongoing Takata recalls.
