This car has a great engine and runs like a champion. It's got many good years left, and it would make an excellent first car for a high school or college student. The Lumina is a great car because it's got a very smooth ride -- you'll hardly notice potholes and bumps in the road. Unlike many recent cars, the classic V6 215 HP 3.1 L GM engine can tow fairly heavy loads (U-Hauls, camping trailers, etc.) and we're including a trailer hitch already installed. It's ready to go for moving into a new dorm or apartment! The brakes are in good condition, and the handling is very smooth. The front wheel drive works well, even in Ohio winters with snow and ice.

We're asking for $2,000, but we'll consider any reasonable offer given that the A/C doesn't work. The car has a small amount of undercarriage body rust, but you won't find such a roomy interior or excellent rear window visibility on a tiny car from Japan. When you get the car, it'll have a fresh oil change and a full tank of gas. You'll have no trouble driving it home!

NHTSA closes book on Ford, GM probes of 600,000 vehicles

US safety regulators have closed a pair of investigations into some 500,000 Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis and Marauder sedans built between 2004 to 2007, and 100,000 Chevrolet Impala models from 2014. The Ford investigation focused on rusting heat shields, which may become dislodged and jam the steering, according to Reuters. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that this happened very rarely. In fact, of the ten incidents filed with the government safety watchdog, six came from a single police department, which evidently had some sort of problem with its reporting. As for the Impala, the NHTSA investigators attributed two incidences of "unintended autonomous braking" to user error. In both cases, the vehicles were involved in rear-end collisions. According to GM investigators, it's believed that drivers accidentally activated the electric parking brake, causing the collisions. The vehicles in question were rental cars. Here at Autoblog, we love unexpected debuts at auto shows – and judging by our Detroit Auto Show comments and traffic, you do, too. Surprise reveals have been fewer and farther between in recent years with so many ways for vehicles to be teased or leak out, but this week's show has been a revelation. More to the point, it's been a series of revelations, with automakers from around the globe successfully delivering a brace of concept and production surprises. It's made our jobs a lot more exciting and challenging this week, and even though it's actually more work to react and run-and-gun when the sheet is pulled on a surprise reveal than it is to publish an already-written embargoed story, we've had more fun covering this show for you than any domestic show in memory. We hope you've enjoyed the surprises along with us.
