Survivor 59 Chev Impala Calif Blk Plate Car 2 Owner Only 40k Orig Window Sticker on 2040-cars
Waukegan, Illinois, United States
Your viewing a three owner, California Black Plate, 40,000 orig mile, 1959 Chevrolet Impala 2 DR Hardtop Sport Coupe dressed in Code 925A Sport Cream with Green interior. It was in California till approx 1994, then sold to a collector in Colorado and remained there until June of 2014. Was in his collection for the last 17 years. Barely driven and always stored in a dry climate controlled garage throughout his ownership.
It is an all original survivor with the exception of one repaint. It is an older repaint but very high quality and driver quality. The car is arrow straight and all body gaps line up perfectly. Has some touch ups from driving over the years but it shines and shows great for any show you enter it in. It's great from 1 feet, 20 feet or 20 yards away. It is that nice. Every single thing on the car works. It has a new muffler, brakes, starter, fuel sender, and fuel pump. The car runs down the road at 75 MPH like a dream. The engine runs like a Swiss watch and is whisper quiet. The tranny shifts like butter. It has manual brakes and steering. It currently has the wide white bias belt tires on it. They are in decent shape but are aged. A set of Coker Classic wide white radials would be a nice upgrade for drive ability, however the car drives phenomenal now. The interior is all original from the carpet to the headliner. The dashboard is mint. All the gauges work as well as the lights, signals, wipers, and heater. Please look at the pictures in the ad and the attached link. The headliner, visors, door panels, seats, and package shelf all in amazing shape. The under carriage is super clean and rust free. It was undercoated from the dealer and looks amazing. The trunk is all original super solid. It has all the factory paint and primer still in tact. Original cardboard and spare tire and wheel. The trunk mat was replaced but orig comes with car. When you pop the trunk it likes like a time capsule and shows great. There is a bit of surface rust under the mat but I left it there to show the honesty of how original the car truly is. In no way is the trunk rusty. The floor is rock solid. Only cosmetics are needed if you want to detail it out. More PICS available upon request through photobucket. Please bid and buy with confidence. We have a 100% EBay Rating. Our dealership is centrally located between Chicago Illinois and Milwaukee Wisconsin. You can fly into Chicago's O'Hare International Airport or Milwaukee's General Mitchel Airport. We are approx 35 miles from either airport in each direction. Buyer is responsible for a shipping arrangements and costs. Please inspect the car before bidding or have someone inspect it for you. I want no misunderstandings as to the condition of the vehicle once the auction is over. Seller reserves the right to end the auction for local sale. We will sell to international buyers as long as funds are drawn and received from a Bank in the United States and the funds are wired to our account and car paid in full before the car leaves our dealership. |

GM program sees dealers taking on way more loaner cars
Wed, Dec 17 2014Given the volume of vehicles we're talking about, this is a significant development for GM's bottom line. Bring your car into the dealership for service, and you may need a loaner car in exchange. And with so many recalls being carried out, that means a lot of loaners – especially at General Motors dealerships. That could be one of the reasons why GM is massively expanding its loaner fleet program. While many Chevrolet and Buick-GMC dealerships have an on-site rental car location operated by a third party like Enterprise (which may or may not provide a GM vehicle), others manage their own loaner fleets. But while the range of dealerships operating such fleets was once small, reports Automotive News, the number has been growing rapidly: from the locations responsible for only 20 percent of those brands' sales two years ago to about 90 percent today. The impetus for that growth comes down to a massive expansion of GM's Courtesy Transportation Program. The initiative encourages dealers to ramp up their loaner fleet to a maximum size determined by GM, with a mix determined by the dealer itself, so that a showroom in Texas can be bolstered with a fleet of pickup trucks and a dealer in California can employ more Volt and Camaro Convertible loaners. The dealership gets a $500 credit for each vehicle its puts in its fleet, and can use those vehicles as loaners for service customers, as multi-day test drivers or to rent out separately. The vehicles remain in the dealer's fleet for 90 days or 7,500 miles, then they can be sold as used, but with new-car incentives. The dealer gets a fleet of loaners, customers get to use the loaners, try out a new car overnight or buy a barely used car with attractive incentives, and GM gets to clock more sales. But therein lies the kicker: the automaker counts the dispatch of the loaner new vehicle to the dealership as a new-car sale, which could end up distorting its sales figures. Counting loaner vehicles as sold vehicles is something of an industry-standard practice, but given the volume of vehicles we're talking about, this is a significant development for GM's bottom line. One dealership - Paddock Chevrolet in Kenmore, NY, for example - had no loaner fleet two years ago, but now runs a fleet of 50 vehicles. Multiply that by the 4,000 or so dealers GM has across America and you're talking about the potential for hundreds of thousands of these sorts of sales.
More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1
Thu, 28 Feb 2013During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
Next-gen GM SUVs caught wearing new boxy bodies [w/video]
Wed, 15 May 2013We recently drove the brand-new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and found it to be vastly improved compared to the outgoing model. And now that The General's pickup trucks have been squared away, it's time to focus our attention onto their passenger-friendly companions, the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon (above).
Our spy photographers have passed along a huge smattering of photos (and a video), showing the new SUVs out testing. Both the short- and long-wheelbase models were spied, and while the overall shape of the vehicles hasn't changed all that much, we expect the updates to be substantial. In addition to new powertrain options, like GM's new small-block V8, we expect the interiors of both SUVs to get massive makeovers, providing better materials throughout their cabins and quieter, more refined environments. We even hear that some trick new suspension developments may be in store for upper-end models.
Visually, these spy shots allow us to see a couple of new details on the SUVs' front and rear fascias, including LED running lamps on the Yukon and some interesting LED taillamp treatments. Of course, the obvious third party missing from this set of photos is the Cadillac Escalade, but as we reported earlier, GM is working to further differentiate the 'Slade from the rest of the fullsize SUV lineup, and is working to make the new model "much less ostentatious."
