One Owner Chevy Biscayne Original 283 Motor W/ Original Paint Watch Video on 2040-cars
Hermosa Beach, California, United States
This 1960 2-door Chevy Biscayne spent its life in California. It comes equipped with the original 283 motor and 3 speed transmission. This one owner Biscayne has never been molested and was garaged for years. The paint has never been touched from the second it rolled off the assembly line. The car comes with the original title in the original owner's name, the original owner's manual and registration dated from the 60s. With a little work, this 54 year old classic can be drive the way it is or do a full restoration and have the car of your dreams. WATCH VIDEO LINK HERE http://youtu.be/rlh1cWrdfWA Overall, the condition of the body is good. The driver's side of the car is excellent. The passenger side has a dent on the right rear quarter and a little rust starting on the wheel well. It is nothing major but it is there. Other than that, the passenger side is very good. The rocker panels are in excellent shape. The floors are good with the exception of a small area on the passenger rear side seating area. The trunk floor is decent but will require a small amount of repair. The driver side floor is very good. The rear bumper is also good. The front bumper is dented but I have a replacement. The glass is good but it is missing the side glass and the glass on the passenger door. Its wide whitewall tires are not cracked or weather checked. The dash is complete and original including the radio. These cars are getting harder to find, especially ones that are still this original. They are also much more affordable than an Imapla but just as cool. I've never started the engine but it turns over freely. I do not think it would take much to get this car going. Please only bid if you intend on completing the transaction. The car is located in Los Angeles and any local bidders are welcome to come inspect it prior to auction end. Shipping is not a problem. I have contacts in the shipping business at reasonable rates and I can have it delivered to anywhere in the world. Due to the age of the car, it is being sold as is and without warranty. If you have any questions, please call Jeff at (310) 990-8628. Thanks for looking at my auction |

GM recalls 64k 2011-2013 Volts over carbon monoxide fears, stop sale on Trax and Encore
Thu, Mar 12 2015General Motors is recalling 50,249 Chevrolet Volts from the 2011-2013 model years in the US and an additional 13,937 exported examples because of fears over carbon monoxide buildup. According to a statement, if a Volt is accidentally left on while running on electric power, its internal combustion engine would eventually kick on to charge on the battery. If this happens in an enclosed space, then carbon monoxide can fill the area, leading to a potential exposure to the dangerous gas. According to GM, there have been two injuries reported due to this issue. To fix the problem, there's a software update to limit the time the vehicle can idle. According to Automotive News, GM is also issuing a stop sale on about 2,300 examples of the 2015 Chevrolet Trax and Buick Encore. In these compact crossovers, it's possible that the steering column assembly could touch the power steering circuit board and cause damage over time. This could potentially cause the system to stop working. Automotive News indicates that the automaker is still working with the supplier to get the necessary parts to repair this problem. General Motors is recalling 50,249 Chevrolet Volts in the U.S. from the 2011-2013 model years to implement a software update that will limit the amount of time a vehicle can be left idling in the "on" or "run" position. If a driver exits the vehicle and inadvertently leaves the vehicle "on" by failing to react to cues and warning chimes emitted by the vehicle, the vehicle's high-voltage battery will drain after a period of time and the gasoline engine will begin to run. If the gas engine runs for a long period of time within an enclosed space, such as a garage, carbon monoxide could build up. GM is aware of two injuries, both related to carbon monoxide build up. The total recall population including Canada and exports is 64,186. Related Video:
Meet the mother-daughter team that's worked on almost every Chevy Volt
Sun, May 11 2014It's Mother's Day, and we're soft enough we love our mothers enough to share a new video from General Motors with you. In it, we meet Monique Watson (left) and Evetta Osbourne, a mother-daughter team that works at the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly where GM makes the Chevy Volt (along with all of GM's other plug-in hybrids: the Opel Ampera, Holden Volt and Cadillac ELR). The two work side-by-side and have installed the lithium-ion battery pack on almost all of those vehicles - nearly 80,000 of them - since GM started making the pre-production Volts in 2009. In a prepared statement, Watson said that she likes working next to her mom, day in and day out, and they the two are totally in sync when it comes to putting the 400-pound, 16.5-kWh packs into the vehicle undersides. They two can also share stories throughout the day, and Watson said, "The arrangement has absolutely improved our relationship." Osborne started working at Detroit-Hamtramck in 1999, Watson since 2006. If you're driving a Volt today, you probably have them to thank for doing a bit of the work putting your car together. See a short video of them in action below. It's Always Mother's Day for Detroit-Hamtramck Duo Mother, daughter install lithium-ion battery pack in nearly all GM electric vehicles 2014-05-08 DETROIT – For Detroit resident Evetta Osborne, every day is Mother's Day. That's because she literally works side by side with her daughter, Monique Watson, at General Motors' Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant. They have installed the lithium-ion battery pack on nearly every Chevrolet Volt, Opel Ampera, Holden Volt, and Cadillac ELR since production began. In fact, apart from vacation days and an occasional sick day, the mother-daughter duo has installed almost every battery pack since the Volt was in pre-production in 2009. The ELR launched earlier this year. All told – including Ampera – that's more than 80,000 electric vehicles. "We're a good team and our relationship is secondary when it comes to performing our jobs – but it's great to work alongside my daughter, said Osborne, a mother of five. Because the battery packs weigh more than 400 pounds each, automatic guided vehicles – robotic carts that use sensors to follow a path through the plant – deliver them just as the vehicle body structures glide into position overhead. The carts then lift the T-shaped packs, and Osborne and Watson guide them into the chassis and secure each one with 24 fasteners.
Chevy SS prototype spotted wearing Pontiac G8 clothes
Tue, 28 Aug 2012
Do not adjust your computer screen, you are not seeing the rebirth of the Pontiac brand. General Motors has chosen to use a G8 to disguise a test mule for the latest prototype of the forthcoming Chevrolet SS. The G8 was closely related to the Holden Commodore and Vauxhall VXR, the platform upon which the new Chevrolet performance model will be based. It should come as little surprise, then, that GM has opted to use the cladding from the former G8.
Thought the front clip of this mule is pure Pontiac, note the vents immediately behind the front wheel. That is a distinctive design hallmark of the Vauxhall VXR. Also note that this vehicle is right-hand drive, as the Holden and its Chevy counterpart will be very closely related. That likely includes potential drivetrains. The spy photos of this mule also reveal very wide rear tires, and rear wheels that do not match the fronts.
