2006 Chevrolet Impala Lt on 2040-cars
Saginaw, Michigan, United States
For Sale is a 2006 Chevrolet Impala "LT". I had put the "SS" badges on the car back in 2010 when we bought it. It has the 3.9 or 3900 engine in it with dual exhaust and runs excellent. This vehicle has been driven by our daughter since we have had it. When we bought it, it had 36,000 miles on it and we are the second owners and it currently has 76,527 miles on it. The reason we have decided to sell the vehicle is my daughter had an Avalanche back in 2010 and with college expenses at the time forced her to sell the Avalanche and down size to this vehicle. Now that she has graduated from College she has decided to go back to an SUV type vehicle. There is nothing wrong with this vehicle at all. It has a few chips in the hood and a couple door dings but other than that it is in pretty good shape. Mechanically this vehicle has never failed and everything works perfectly and I have all of the maintinence records for the vehicle. It has a sliding sun roof and CD player and there are no leaks anywhere with anything on this vehicle. Also we have the stock rims that have Goodyear Ealges on them and then a set of 18 inch chrome rims with Pierce tires mounted on them. Both sets of tires are about 70% tread remaining. The interior is cloth and is Tan in color. This vehicle is very dependable. If you are from out of state and wish to fly in I can pick you up at Flint Bishop or Saginaw MBS airport. Also any and all shipping costs are the "Buyers" responsibility. I am happy to assist in any shipping plans but the funds for the vehicle MUST BE CLEARED before the vehicle leaves my possession. Also all I ask is a $200 dollar deposit. If you get here and you don't like the car I would not want you to feel like you have to take it. If you did not want it I would refund your $200.00 deposit minus my e-bay expenses. Also I reserve the right to end this auction early due to the car being for sale locally. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at (989) 284-9003. If you would like to see the vehicle we are in Saginaw, Michigan. Thanks Mike

GM seeks national mandate for zero-emissions cars
Fri, Oct 26 2018DETROIT — General Motors says it will ask the federal government for one national gas mileage standard, including a requirement that a percentage of auto companies' sales be zero-emissions vehicles. Mark Reuss, GM's executive vice president of product development, said the company will propose that a certain percentage of nationwide sales be made up of vehicles that run on electricity or hydrogen fuel cells. GM says a nationwide program modeled on such a requirement in California could result in 7 million electric vehicles, or EVs, on U.S. roads by 2030. California wants 15.4 percent of vehicle sales by 2025 to be EVs or other zero emission vehicles. Nine other states, including Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York, have adopted those requirements. In January, California Governor Jerry Brown set a target of 5 million zero-emission vehicles in California by 2030. The Trump administration criticizes California's ZEV mandate, saying it requires automakers to spend tens of billions of dollars developing vehicles that most consumers do not want, only to sell them at a loss. Reuss told reporters that governments and industries in Asia and Europe "are working together to enact policies now to hasten the shift to an all-electric future. It's very simple: America has the opportunity to lead in the technologies of the future." A national mandate also would create jobs and reduce fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and "make EVs more affordable," Reuss added. GM, the nation's largest automaker, will spell out the request Friday in written comments on a Trump administration proposal to roll back Obama-era fuel economy and emissions standards, freezing them at 2020 levels instead of gradually making them tougher. Under a regulation finalized by the Environmental Protection Agency at the end of the Obama administration, the fleet of new automobiles would have to get 36 miles per gallon by 2025, 10 mpg higher than the current requirement. But the Trump administration's preferred plan is to freeze the standards starting in 2021. Administration officials say waiving the tougher fuel efficiency requirements would make vehicles more affordable, which would get safer cars into consumer hands more quickly. GM on Thursday said it doesn't support the freeze, but wants flexibility to deal with consumers' shift from cars to less-efficient SUVs and trucks.
Amelia Island 2013: Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray from concepts to split windows
Wed, 13 Mar 2013While this year marks 60 years of the Chevrolet Corvette, the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance focused on one of the coupe's most sought after models, the 1963 Sting Ray. General Motors design boss Ed Welburn was on hand to show off the all-new C7 Corvette, but even the hard-edged styling of the 2014 Stingray couldn't take away from the beautiful 1963 models sitting out on the field.
In addition to the original Sting Ray and the 1959 Sting Ray Concept, some of the other classic 'Vettes included "Big Tank" racecars, an interesting cutaway coupe, a right-hand-drive Z06 and the attention-grabbing 1963 Corvette Rondine by Pininfarina. Another impressive Corvette was the 1964 Corvette XP-819 rear-engine prototype. Owner Mike Yager had the car finished as a driving chassis for this year's show, but promises the car will be back to its original glory in time for next year's event.
Looking back at the Citation IV concept that likely shaped the GM EV1
Wed, Aug 20 2014Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it. We're not sure how that applies to the GM EV1, but we'd still like to share something from Autoline Daily, an online automotive new show with our friend John McElroy. He's been covering the business for decades now and recently found something interesting: pictures of the 1984 Chevrolet Citation IV concept, seen above. Displayed half a decade before the first electric concept that would become the EV1 (inset), McElroy says it's now clear that the elegant, aerodynamic EV1 took a lot of styling cues from the Citation IV, which was developed in part thanks to GM's new-at-the-time Aerodynamics Laboratory. We agree with him that the spats over the rear wheels, the flush glass, and the covered headlights all bear a certain kind of similarity between the two cars. That the colors almost match is a nice coincidence. The Impact (the concept version of the EV1) looked "frumpier," McElroy says, because it wasn't as long as the Citation. You can read a lot more about the Citation IV here and check out McElroy's thoughts in the video below. Find the Citation starting at around 3:45. This content is hosted by a third party.
