2004 Chevy Impala Ss 34k Original Miles Female Senior Owned on 2040-cars
Chewelah, Washington, United States
Hi and thanks for looking. Every once in a while you hear a story about a car that is "Old Lady Owned". Well this is the one and it is for real. I bought the car in 2011. The original owner bought off the showroom floor in 2004. She put 21,000 miles on it while she had it. Used it mainly to go to church and family functions. It was not her daily driver. When she passed it became part of her estate. I purchased it in 2011. I have put 13,000 on it bringing it to under 34,ooo total original miles. It is not my daily driver either and has NEVER been my winter time driver. It is a very fun car to have but my son says i never drive it like it is supposed to be driven, FAST. It has all the options and they all woirk. PW, PDL, Tilt, Heated Leather, Sunroof, CD W/XM, Traction Control etc. It has been an incredibly reliable car but i am now 65 and have several cars and it is time to scale down to one year around driver. I live in a harsh winter climate and cant enjoy it as much and because im on a fixed income I have to scale down some. It will need new tires. It has two of the original that came with the car but two have gone flat this year and have been replaced with good tires but they dont all match. Also the drivers side headlight has some condensation in it. I dont see any cracks or any reason for it honestly but it is there. The paint is good but does have some light scuffs and scratches here and there but looks like it would come out with a good polish or buff. The worse thisng is that someone hit me, lightly, in the passengers side front panel. I went to the grocery store and came out and there it was in all its glory. My local body shop said about $400 to fix but like i said im on a fixed income. I dont own the car outright. I still have a small balance owing my local credit union of $1400. Winning bidder will need to make payment to my credit union and they will release title. Whoever gets this is going to be happy. I have been for the time it has been with me and if i could afford all my cars i would keep it. You cant get anything "Newer" with this kind of mileage for anywhere near the price. If you live more than 50 miles away form me you will have to make arrangments to have it picked up or shipped. Deposit of $500 required within 24 hours of auction ending and balance will need to be sent or transferred to credit union within 2 days. I will get winning bidder proper information. Thanks and have a great day. I almost forgot. Ever since i bought it the "Low Tire Pressure" Light has been on. It has never gone off and i am pretty sure it is just a bad sensor.

Hot Wheels' Twitter-enabled vending machine coughs up free Camaro diecasts
Wed, 27 Feb 2013There are still plenty of companies that haven't gotten the whole social media thing down pat yet, but Hot Wheels isn't one of them. During the recent Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Hot Wheels created a lot of buzz for itself by using a vending machine filled with Chevrolet Camaro models, but instead of money to get the cars, show attendees just had to use Twitter.
To get the free car, people were asked to send a tweet to Hot Wheels Canada saying what they liked about the new Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, and including the #ChevyCIAS hashtag. This seemed to be a popular marketing tool, too, as AdWeek reports that the @HotWheelsCanada account more than tripled in followers during the course of the 10-day show. Looking ahead, this could open up even more innovative marketing possibilities using social media.
Check out the video posted below to watch how it works, and while the auto show has ended and the free-car giveaway has too, we're almost certain that some of the 1,500 freebies will make their way onto eBay.
800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable
Tue, 01 Oct 2013What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.
GM's European Opel division may eventually go all-electric
Wed, Feb 15 2017General Motors' Opel division in Europe may transform itself into an all-electric vehicle maker by 2030. Granted, a lot can happen between now and then, including a potential buyout by French automaker PSA Group. Regardless, Opel appears to view its electric future beyond the Ampera-e, which is the sister vehicle to the Chevrolet Bolt, and more like Tesla. Opel CEO Karl-Thomas Neumann indicated that focusing on electric drivetrains would be a superior strategy to expanding its EV technology while pushing forward with conventional drivetrains, says Automotive News Europe, citing comments Neumann made to German publication Manager Magazin. General Motors could make the decision to move towards an all-electric vehicle line for Opel as soon as May. Of course, that depends on whether Opel is bought out by PSA, the parent country to Peugeot and Citroen. PSA is in talks to buy General Motors' Opel and Vauxhall divisions, though government and labor representatives in Germany have expressed concerns over potential job losses from the proposed buyout, Reuters says. Regardless, GM has hinted at expanding its electric-vehicle line far beyond the Bolt, which has a 238-mile single-charge range and debuted late last year. Mary Barra, in an interview with CNET, said the Bolt's all-electric platform could be applied to a "huge range of vehicles," though wasn't specific about additional EV models. Opel first showed off its Ampera-e at the Paris Motor Show last fall. The name of the model raised some eyebrows because the Ampera badge had been previously used by Opel for the sister version of the Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in. Either way, Opel is looking to take on Renault for electric-vehicle sales supremacy across the Pond. Related Video:
