*PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE MAKING OFFER OR BIDDING*

    The Good:
-2000 Chevy Impala with 9C1 Police package includes police wheels, heavy duty radiator and other features in the police package
-Engine was replaced at 120K when lifters went on original engine. Engine had 48K on it when replaced so engine has 142k miles on it and body 214k
-Too many parts to list have been replaced some I remember some I can't remember. Oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, suspension parts, new radiator, new battery, plugs and wires were replaced recently, ignition coils and alot of other parts I can't remember as it was worked on over and over for years and alot of money was spent on it
-Has after market stereo - Sony CDX-RA700 with Pioneer speakers in front and Sony X-plode 6x9's in the back
    - Body in decent shape but bumper is loose and it has smaller dent and paint chipping in the rear but no major dents or damages. One door handle in rear is missing and one doesnt work but the two up front do work (this is the least of your concerns)
-Vehicle is pretty dirty as it has been outside and not in a garage
-Vehicle has 4 Yokohoma Avid TRZ tires that have around 40K miles on them. TRZ's have a 80k-100k life expectancy so theres a good amount of life left on them
-Has Cross-Drilled/Slotted rotors on front and rear but I have no idea if pads are worn out completely and need replacement
    - Starts right up and runs ok
-CLEAN TITLE but was involved in minor front end accident and the front clip was profesionally repaired
-If one wants to buy it site unseen I can have it towed up to 100 miles from 06070 (simsbury,CT) for FREE but dont expect much with this vehicle
      The Bad:
-Vehicle has bad transmission or so i'm told. Reverse works but Drive and third doesn't work. 2nd and first move it car a little
-Vehicle was working ok till the transmission went out a few days ago and I was driving it everyday
      - Vehicle started misfiring recently so it kinda feels like its running on only 5 cylinders and bucks a little but still would drive ok until transmission went out. This could be a bad spark plug or wire I have no idea
-Vehicle interior in VERY rough shape as it was used to stricly bring my dog back and forth to the park ( has a strong animal odor because of this and dog hair (i'll try to clean it up if someone wants to buy it)
-Vehicle has some control arm or control arm bushing issues because it clunks when you move the wheel left and right (i was told its the control arm bushing)
-If you are a handyman or mechanic and want to put in a transmission and some other parts and give it a nice cleaning this would be a great vehicle with only 142K on the motor either that or just part it out
MAKE ME AN OFFER AND ILL WORK WITH YOU!
Any other question PLEASE EMAIL ME PRIOR TO BIDDING OR OFFERING!
Vehicle Sold As-is and anything you do with it is not my responsibility and no warranties, returns or changes of mind will be accepted

Chevy Volt sales drop in June, Nissan Leaf inches upwards

      Tue, Jul 1 2014

Different month, same story. That's the gist of the monthly US sales numbers from the Chevy Volt and the Nissan Leaf. These were the first two mass-market plug-in vehicles to go on sale in the US and we've been comparing their sales numbers for what seems like ages now. So far, the 2014 tale of the tape shows the all-electric once again trumping the plug-in hybrid. The last time the Volt outsold the Leaf was in October 2013. Chevrolet sold 1,777 Volts in June. That was good enough to be the Volt's best sales month of the year, but it's down 34 percent from the 2,698 units sold in June 2013. In fact, it's on par with the 1,760 Volts sold in June 2012. Given the steady sales, General Motors might need to push up the release of the next-gen Volt to gin up excitement, especially if it also offers some of the things that current Volt drivers say they want improved: more range, a lower price and a fifth seat. GM also said it sold 85 Spark EVs in June, an increase of 215 percent over June 2013 Nissan sold 2,347 Leafs last month. The good news continues for Nissan, which says it sold 2,347 Leafs last month. That's an increase of 5.5 percent over 2013 numbers and makes 2014 the best June ever for Leaf sales. Let's credit Texas. Toby Perry, Nissan's director of EV sales and marketing, said in a statement that, "Since the Texas state incentive went into effect in May, we've seen a big jump in Leaf sales in the Austin, Dallas and Houston markets. Our dealers are telling us that they saw more traffic in their stores, and they had their best Leaf sales performance in the last weekend in June." Even with that increase, Atlanta remains the top Leaf market. Nissan has sold 12,736 Leafs in the US so far this year; Chevy 8,615 Volts. Our detailed monthly sales write-up of green cars in the US, including plug-in vehicles, hybrids and diesel cars, is coming soon. For now, we invite you to discuss these numbers in the Comments. 2016 Chevy Volt to make auto show debut this season

      Wed, Jul 30 2014

Ever since we saw that spy shots of the 2016 Chevy Volt, we've been hungering for more information on the next-gen version of GM's green halo car. It appears we might not have long to wait, at least for an official tease. An inside source that wishes to remain anonymous told AutoblogGreen that GM will make two announcements regarding the second-gen Volt at the CAR Management Briefing Seminars in Traverse City, MI next week. The first, and most intriguing, is that that we will get our first glimpse of the new Volt at some point during the upcoming auto show season. That means either Los Angeles later this year or else Detroit, Chicago or New York in early 2015. The second bit of news is that GM will be moving production of the electric motors from Mexico to Michigan. Details and official confirmation are, of course, missing and Chevrolet declined comment to AutoblogGreen. We should know more next week.

A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]

      Thu, Dec 18 2014

Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.
