1972 Chevrolet Impala on 2040-cars
Hialeah, Florida, United States
Up for auction is one of the nicest Impalas I have ever seen. 1972. No Expenses Spared. Beautiful paint job. The car has a brand new engine with only 300 miles on it. It is a 350 roller motor with a mild competition .474 lift cam. It has a Edelbrock polished aluminum intake, 750 Holley carburetor, 400 transmission, headers, dual exhaust with flow masters and stainless steel tips, 1990 GM serpentine belt system, new compressor, new water pump, new power steering pump, new upgraded 240 amp escalade alternator kit, hi volume Edelbrock mechanical fuel pump, flex-a-lite dual fans, aluminum radiator, HID headlights and HID interior lights, billet pedals, vintage in dash ac system. The rims are Forgiato Ovale 24 inch with the big lip in chrome. The interior is two tone gray with leather and suede. The sound system is one of the loudest and clearest I have ever heard. The radio is a Kenwood 7 inch screen. It has four 12 inch JL Audio JLW6. 6 1/2 inch speakers in the doors and kick panel. The amps are two JL Audio 1000/1V2 and two JL Audio 300/2V2. Top goes up and down perfectly. No leaks. No rust. I am selling this car for a friend and I have tried to list everything that it has. These cars are getting very hard to find in this condition. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. 305-896-8712. Lou. Please try to text me as I am usually at work all day. Thanks for looking and happy bidding. Serious buyers only please.

GM won't really kill off the Chevy Volt and Cadillac CT6, will it?
Fri, Jul 21 2017General Motors is apparently considering killing off six slow-selling models by 2020, according to Reuters. But is that really likely? The news is mentioned in a story where UAW president Dennis Williams notes that slumping US car sales could threaten jobs at low-volume factories. Still, we're skeptical that GM is really serious about killing those cars. Reuters specifically calls out the Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CT6, Cadillac XTS, Chevrolet Impala, Chevrolet Sonic, and the Chevrolet Volt. Most of these have been redesigned or refreshed within the past few model years. Four - the LaCrosse, Impala, CT6, and Volt - are built in the Hamtramck factory in Detroit. That plant has made only 35,000 cars this year - down 32 percent from 2016. A typical GM plant builds 200,000-300,000 vehicles a year. Of all the cars Williams listed, killing the XTS, Impala, and Sonic make the most sense. They're older and don't sell particularly well. On the other hand, axing the other three seems like an odd move. It would leave Buick and Cadillac without flagship sedans, at least until the rumored Cadillac CT8 arrives. The CT6 was a big investment for GM and backing out after just a few years would be a huge loss. It also uses GM's latest and best materials and technology, making us even more skeptical. The Volt is a hugely important car for Chevrolet, and supplementing it with a crossover makes more sense than replacing it with one. Offering one model with a range of powertrain variants like the Hyundai Ioniq and Toyota Prius might be another route GM could take. All six of these vehicles are sedans, Yes, crossover sales are booming, but there's still a huge market for cars. Backing away from these would be essentially giving up sales to competitors from around the globe. The UAW might simply be publicly pushing GM to move crossover production to Hamtramck to avoid closing the plant and laying off workers. Sales of passenger cars are down across both GM and the industry. Consolidating production in other plants and closing Hamtramck rather than having a single facility focus on sedans might make more sense from a business perspective. GM is also trying to reduce its unsold inventory, meaning current production may be slowed or halted while current cars move into customer hands. There's a lot of politics that goes into building a car. GM wants to do what makes the most sense from a business perspective, while the UAW doesn't workers to lose their jobs when a factory closes.

Chevrolet Camaros at SEMA are a mobile accessory catalog
Wed, 06 Nov 2013Chevy's goal at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas this week seems to be to show as much of its Performance and Accessories catalog as possible. That's why it brought three different Camaros - two with V8s and one powered by a V6 - with all of the best goodies from the catalog already fitted.
We gave a more in-depth recap of the Performance Camaro V8 Concept, the Performance Camaro V6 Concept and the Performance Garage Concept already, but we figured you'd like a short recap for each. It should be noted, though, that you can order all of the items you see here for your own Camaro, so be sure to take a long, hard look at our live galleries, just in case you're in the market for some mods.
Essentially, the Performance Garage Concept and the Performance V8 Concept are the same car - the only difference is that the later features a whole host of aesthetic tweaks in addition to its aftermarket, shorty exhaust headers and 2.75-inch exhaust. (The Performance Garage Concept has been usefully placed on its side; the better to see the new parts added to the vehicle.) The Performance V6 Concept is notable because, despite being a V6, there's no shortage of performance goodies fitted. All three of the Performance Camaros benefit from items from the Camaro ZL1, which can also be ordered through the catalog.
