UP FOR AUCTION:

A 1969 CHEVROLET IMPALA CUSTOM.

ACCORDING TO COWL TAG THIS CAR WAS BUILT IN ATLANTA, GA (BA). THE SECOND WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 1968(09B).  IT WAS THE 394’TH BODY BUILT AT THAT LOCATION (394).

CAR WAS FOUND UNDER A SHED IN NORTH CAROLINA. THIS CAR IS IN GREAT CONDITION, A BARN FIND, AND A TRUE SURVIVOR.  ONE OWNER, WITH ORIGINAL TITLE. THIS CAR’S TITLE WAS ISSUED 10/24/1968.

NO MAJOR RUST ISSUES, SOME IN THE LOWER QUARTERS, ROCKERS AND A LITTLE IN FRONT BOTTOM OF PASSENGER DOOR, VINYL TOP IS SMOOTH WITH  MINOR RUST ISSUES VISABLE UNDERNEATH.  NO PANEL REPLACEMENT NECESSARY ANY RUST ON THIS CAR CAN BE FIXED BY CUT AND PATCH WITH NEW METAL.

ALL CHROME AND BODY TRIM ARE VERY STAIGHT, NO MAJOR DINGS WITH ONLY MINOR AGEING ISSUES.

THIS CAR IS A GREAT CANDIDATE FOR RESTORATION OR TO ENJOY AS IT IS. RUNS OUT GREAT, MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION ARE TOP NOTCH. NO SMOKE, NO MOTOR NOISE AND TRANNY SHIFTS OUT SMOOTH. NO MAJOR LEAKS AND STEERING IS TIGHT AND CAR STAYS IN THE ROAD WELL.

THE REST OF THE INTERIOR IS COMPLETELY INTACT WITH ORIGINAL SEAT COVERS, DOOR PANELS AND HEADLINER. ONE SMALL CRACK IN DASH AND CONSOLE LID AS CAN BE SEEN IN PICTURES, AN EASY FIX FOR AN INTERIOR REPAIR PERSON.

1969 WAS THE ONLY YEAR TO PRODUCE THE IMPALA WITH A 396/265 HP 2BBL.  AND ONE OF THE FEW BIG BLOCK 2BBL ORDERS…. DON’T KNOW HOW MANY OF THESE CARS ARE LEFT OUT THERE, HOWEVER I DOUBT THERE ARE MANY. BUT NO DOUBT THIS IS A RARE CAR AND WILL BE A WISE INVESTMENT FOR THE OLD CAR COLLECTOR.

I’VE TRIED TO BE AS DESCRIPTIVE AS POSSIBLE WITH PHOTOS, IF THERE ARE ANY

GM starting to talk seriously about 200-mile EV

Sun, Oct 12 2014

We've been hearing word of a 200-mile EV from Chevrolet for a while now. First, there was General Motors then-CEO Dan Akerson hinting at a $30,000, 200-mile EV that would take the competition by surprise. Then Akerson confirmed that GM is working on a 200-mile EV in a speech in March. LG Chem, which supplies batteries to GM and other automakers, recently said it was working on batteries for EVs with a range of 200 miles. GM's head of global product development Mark Reuss just re-confirmed that there are plans for an EV with a 200-mile range, and sources have told Automotive News what that car will be. While Reuss didn't mention anything about a specific model or platform, two undisclosed sources with knowledge of GM's plans have said that an EV with a range of about 200 miles is indeed in the works, and that it will be based on the Chevrolet Sonic. The sources also gave a timeline for the car, saying it is slated for sometime in 2017. According to Reuss, the plan is for Chevy to offer a lineup of electric cars, with the 200-mile EV joining ranks of the Chevrolet Volt and the Spark EV. He didn't hint at a timeline, but if the sources are correct, we could see a Sonic EV being built within a few years. Reuss sees demand for it, too. When speaking of the Spark EV, currently only available in California and Oregon, he says that "people wish we would sell it all around the country." If he's right about that, it's not difficult to imagine people taking interest in Chevrolet's 200-mile electric car, whether or not it's a Sonic.

Watch the live reveal of the 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra [UPDATE]

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

UPDATE: The trucks have been revealed. Click here for all of the official details.
As promised, Chevrolet and GMC are offering a live webcast of the world premiere for the all-new 2014 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500. After being teased with spy shots and blurry images like the one above for ages, now is the time to see the trucks in the metal, for real (well, as 'real' as it gets on a webcast, at any rate).
Shift your eyes down just below to see the reveal as it happens, starting at 9:30 AM EST. We anticipate having loads of images full technical information to share after the webcast, too, so truck aficionados should stay tuned. We'll also be bringing you live images of both trucks too, when we see them on the show floor at next month's Detroit Auto Show.
