1967 Impala Ss Hardtop - Super Sport - 275hp 327 - Th 400 - Factory Air Car on 2040-cars
Spokane, Washington, United States
Very restore-able Classic muscle car and iconic boulevard cruiser. I have the build sheet, owners manual and window sticker.
Could be a restomod candidate. Vary rare FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING included (not operational) This can has sat in dry storage for 12 years - it was pulled out 2 years ago for restoration - but job loss forces sale. I removed the front clip to work on cleaning up the engine bay and prep for an engine install. Entire front clip and bumper is included Bodywork was done (original paint code is NN - Madeira Maroon with a Black Vinyl top) - good quality body work, but not show car level - very little rust (no holes), and what little there was was sanded out. I put some enamel red paint on it (amateur job) and was in the process of wet sanding it out. I also purchased a replacement Parchment front seat cover for the rare Strato-Bench seat from Hubbard's Impala Parts - it is included New windshield installed, all glass is in excellent shape. Doors and windows work good. Very rare Impala SS stainless rocker moulding is included and I even paid $500 to have it straitened and buffed out at the chrome shop. Keep in mind this is a 40 something year old car - restoration is up to the buyer. This car originally came from the factory with a 275 hp 327 which is now long gone, as is the original TH 400 - it does still have the original 12 bolt rear end and 4 link (not the base 3 link) rear suspension and the factory air parts. 4bbl 327 engines are still out there as are TH 400's so that is not a block to a good restoration. Because of the long storage, I had to have it inspected to get a new title issued - paperwork is done and it has a Washington State Bonded Title - clear and clean. A bonded title or "3 year title" means if an "unknown" owner put a claim on the car they would be paid off from the bond, it is a totally common practice when the State of Washington doesn't want to guarantee the title like they would for a continuously titled car. In 2 more years it will revert to a regular title. Hey, Hagerty has this valued over $46,000 in number 1 condition and over $12,000 in number 4 condition - it's is worth more than my $3,500 reserve as a parts car Shipping or pick up is ultimately up to the buyer to arrange, I will cooperate as best I can. On Apr-21-14 at 17:29:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Edited to add - when I said no holes in the body work I meant in the actual body - there is a hole about the size of a softball under the drivers side rear seat over where the muffler was. |

Chevy Corvette gets Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder [w/video]
Mon, 18 Aug 2014For the 2015-model-year, Chevrolet introduces Valet Mode for the Corvette, an enhancement to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) already available and to your peace of mind. The PDR already captures 720p HD video with a windshield-mounted camera, records interior audio with a cabin microphone and gathers telemetry data using GPS, saving the data to an SD card in the glovebox. You can then watch your track-day antics with various information overlays on the center console screen.
Valet Mode will let you hit 'Replay' when your car gets pulled up front smelling vaguely of fricasseed clutch. Turned on by entering a four-digit code, it also locks the interior storage spaces and turns off the infotainment system. It can't be turned off until the code is re-entered. There's a press release below with more information as well as a video that explains how it works, with the obligatory dig at the 'Vette's biggest foe.
PickupTrucks.com's latest test results in a familiar winner [w/video]
Wed, 19 Jun 2013PickupTrucks.com has gone and thrown the latest batch of half-ton pickups into a cage match to see who would come out on top. The site put the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2013 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan through a battery of tests. Those included 0-60 miles per hour acceleration, 60-0 mph deceleration, fuel economy, a hill climb, and payload and towing. They even threw the rigs on an autocross course to evaluate overall handling. Each truck was given points based on how it scored in each evaluation.
Who came out on top? Somewhat surprisingly, the 2013 Ford F-150 walked away with the gold, though fewer than 50 points separated first and fourth place. Head over to PickupTrucks.com to read the full evaluation and the final results. You may be shocked to see exactly where some of the segment's newest additions placed. You can also watch a video on the test below.
Weekly Recap: Geneva's splendor reflects growing demand for ultra-luxury cars
Sat, Mar 7 2015Geneva is one of the most glittering auto shows in the world, but the list of high-powered and bespoke luxury cars was decadent this year even by the rich standards of the Swiss exhibition. It's great for enthusiasts to revel in the flame-throwing Aston Martin Vulcan, the racing-inspired elegance of the Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 concept and the insane performance of the Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce, but there's a reason for all of this opulence: the luxury market is big business. And it's growing. IHS Automotive forecasts that so-called ultra-premium sales will nearly triple this decade from 123,000 to 353,000 units around the world. The estimate includes brands like Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari and Rolls-Royce, but doesn't count BMW, Mercedes and Audi, which offer less expensive models in addition to their high-end flagships. Though IHS includes Porsche and its relatively large volume in the study, the ultra-premium segment is still set grow at about the same rate, even without the German automaker's figures. So what is propelling all of this growth in the most expensive segment of the auto industry? Put simply, there's more rich people. IHS Automotive principal analyst Tim Urquhart pointed to economic expansion in China, market recovery in the United States and a surge in the lucrative technology sector as contributing factors. This dovetails with a research report by UK-based Oxfam, an international relief organization, which found the world's richest one-percent owned 48 percent of global wealth in 2014, and it's expected to increase to more than 50 percent by 2016. View 17 Photos Carmakers are moving quickly to capitalize with new products, expanding their portfolios with low-volume speedsters like the 800-hp V12 Vulcan at Geneva, and plans to enter new segments, like Rolls-Royce's strategy to make an SUV. "Ultra-premium carmakers are looking to explore ways of growing their product offerings, and thus their bottom lines, in this most potentially profitable of segments," Urquhart wrote in a report on the Geneva show. In a nutshell, there are more choices for people with more money. It's a good time to have expensive taste. Other News & Notes 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata production launches It won't be long now.
