1967 Chevrolet Impala Base Convertible 2-door Numbers Matching 327 on 2040-cars

Year:1967 Mileage:0
Location:

De Forest, Wisconsin, United States

Up for sale is a 1967 Impala 2 door convertible, 327 V8, 4 barrel, 275 HP numbers matching car.    Motor runs good and it drives  nice with the factory power steering. Power assist drum brakes work well.   327 has headers into duel exhaust that is now leaking at the muffler and will need to be replaced. Transmission shifts nicely but may need a little linkage adjustment. Just had a new 3 core  aluminum radiator installed and it runs down the road at 190 degrees.  Motor has the double camel hump heads with very nice tall aluminum valve covers.  Chrome air cleaner dresses up the engine compartment. New 4bbl carb.  All inner fenders and firewall are very clean up here.   Car has a very nice set of 87 Irocz 16 X 7 wheels and 265x 60x16 BFG tires that are at about 50% tread.   Motor block numbers says V08I2HC  Flint MI built, 327 275hp powerglide  built in august.

Car frame is solid.  Some body panels like rear fender area is the worst spots.  There are some bondo areas on lower metals.  Rear Trunk needs all new pans and all bracing there. Inner fender right rear has a fist size hole into trunk.  Springs seem spongy as I think there the originals.   Front bumper is bent in the very center.  rear bumper is in need of a rechrome or replace.   Convertible top  has holes and really needs replacement, but works very nice up & down on the power switch.  Needs complete detailed paint job.

The cars interior is all original except the amfm cd radio and rear seat speakers.   Front and rear seats, door panels have been recovered and those look rather nice. I think the color is bright blue. Floor carpeting is stained and needs replacing.  Has original steering wheel.  Wipers work. Horn works. Blinkers and brake lights work  .Interior lights and headlights work.    Dash needs a repaint and a dash pad restore  since the pad has some cracks.

This car surely needs a lot of work but has tons of potential to be a beautiful convertible in your garage.  Not many Verts like this around,  Rare Car!

General Motors shaking up its marketing... again

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

One of the things that dogs the full comeback of General Motors is the instability of its marketing. That part of the automaker got yet another big shakeup today when GM confirmed what I have been tweeting for a few days - strong rumors that the Chevrolet and Cadillac ad accounts are walking to new ad agencies.
Cadillac, GM's luxury brand, is going into review from Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and the indications are that Campbell-Ewald, Chevy's old ad shop, will end up with most or all of it. C-E just announced that it was moving from its long-time home in Warren, MI to a new downtown Detroit office next to Ford Field, just blocks from GM.
The other shoe to drop shortly will be the shift of GM's most important brand, Chevy, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco to McCann-Erickson of Troy, MI. McCann used to be the agency for Buick and GMC, as well as GM's corporate advertising, and has retained some pieces of business over the last few years. Sources have even told us that it was McCann that did a lot of the creative work on Chevy's new ad platform, Find New Roads. (Not to be confused with a former McCann tagline for Saab, "Find Your Own Road.")

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray priced from $51,995*

Fri, 26 Apr 2013

After months of speculation, Chevrolet has finally revealed the official starting price of the 2014 Corvette Stingray. The base MSRP for the 450-horsepower Stingray Coupe will be $51,995, while the Stingray Convertible will go for $56,995 (*both prices include a $995 destination fee). This means that the price increase from 2013 to 2014 is just $1,400 for the coupe and $2,395 for the convertible - pretty modest increases considering the upgrade in specifications. Of course, neither price accounts for the sort of dealer markup that might grace early C7 window stickers, especially since less than a third of all Chevrolet dealers will be allocated Corvette models to sell at the car's launch.
Now, these prices are for the base car, so if you're wondering how much a fully loaded Stingray will run, Chevy has given us a good indication of that as well. The coupe we saw on display at the Detroit Auto Show (shown above), for example, would run $73,360 including options such as the $2,800 Z51 Performance Package, $2,495 competition sport seats and the $1,795 Magnetic Ride Control option - just to name a few. Stepping up to the 3LT trim level that brings a full leather interior will run an extra $8,005 over the base price.
While $20,000 in options may seem like a lot, this "as-tested" price still has the C7 competitively priced against rival coupes like the Porsche 911 and Nissan GT-R. Speaking of price comparisons, Chevrolet also points out that the C7 Stingray Z51 costs $2,200 less than the C6 Grand Sport while delivering better acceleration (0-60 mph in less than four seconds) and improved track performance (including more than 1 g in cornering).

Joe Flacco wins C7 Corvette along with MVP honors

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

As part of a longstanding tradition, the MVP of Super Bowl XLVII, Joe Flacco, quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, was given a new car directly after the game and trophy celebrations. For 2013, that car is a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, and it was presented to Flacco by Rick Flick of Banner Chevrolet, a dealership in New Orleans that was wiped out by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 before returning to prominence as the only Chevy dealer in Orleans Parish.
Last year, Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning took home a 2012 Corvette GS Centennial Edition. Manning also won in 2008, when he selected a Cadillac Escalade Hybrid as his reward. In 2011, quarterback Aaron Rodgers accepted the keys to a Camaro convertible.
Though we're most definitely an auto-obsessed group, we did watch the Big Game along with nearly everyone else in America. And we've gotta say, as if winning the Super Bowl and receiving the Tiffany-designed Pete Rozelle Trophy wasn't enough for the multi-millionaire MVP athletes, a brand-new C7 seems like an awfully generous prize.
