This is a true 100% real 1965 Impala Super Sport. We have the original protecto plate with warranty book and envelope, the original owners manual and bag, the original window sticker listing showing all options and of course a clear title.
The car was a 327, Muncie 4 speed and 12 bolt 331 posi car. The guy we got the car from has the original 327 block that he has built up with aluminum heads, high compression and roller cam, he says it is 600 horsepower. He wants like $7,000.00 for the engine that is why we passed on it, but it is available if wanted. He also has the original Muncie 4 speed with the cars vin # stamped on it, factory linkage and factory shifter for $1,200.00 if wanted as well, we passed on it because we were going to use a overdrive but the original 4 speed set up is available if wanted. They can be purchased together or separately, what ever you want. The original 12 bolt posi comes with the car, it is taken apart and the axles are missing but everything else is there and included. Because the original rear end is taken apart and we wanted to make it a roller we put a 12 bolt out of one of my other impalas in it for now so we can move it. If you want both 12 bolts I will leave the one that is in the car now for an additional $600.00, otherwise we will go get a 10 bolt and put in it to keep it a roller, either way the original 12 bolt posi comes with the car all you will need is a set of axles. Included is a lot of the original engine parts to include the water pump dated B 22 5, Distributor dated 5 D 19, the starter dated 5 D 22, the alternator and bracket dated 5 D 7, exhaust manifolds dated C 13 5 and D 21 5, the bell housing with fork and linkage and other small parts like valve covers, timing cover, coil and bracket etc. etc. etc.
The guy that we got the car got it from the original owner and he completely disassembled the entire car down to every last bolt and nut for restoration to do a frame off and then lost interest in the car because he wants to build a model A rat rod, that is why he did what he did to the original 327. We were going to restore the car our self but decided we have too many other projects so we put the big major stuff back together to make it a roller for easy transport. Other than the engine and trans which are available, if wanted, one or both, the only other things that are missing from the car that I can see is of course the axles and the radio. This is a very complete car to restore.
The body on the car I would say is way above average for an original unrestored 1965. The floors, inner and outer rockers, hood, and trunk lid are perfect and rust free. 80% of the trunk floor is rust free. The passenger side of the trunk is rusted out, easy fix as it doesn't need a full trunk floor just a patch along the edge. There is also some rust in the lower quarters behind the rear wheel and around the rear wheel lip and also some in the lower front fenders also all an easy fix as you can get just patch panels, it does NOT need full quarters just lower patch panels. There is also a very little rust around the front windshield. That is all the rust I can find in the whole car, not much and a easy fix. All the glass except the windshield is in real good shape and included. The front driver side bucket seat has a small tear in it other than that the seats are in good driver quality condition. The dash is in good shape and not cut up, included is the console and tach.
Like I said I think EVERYTHING is there and in good usable or restorable shape except the engine itself, trans, axles, radio and windshield. This would make a very nice project for someone that would not take a lot of money or time to restore since it is so complete and everything is labeled what it is and all the bolts or screws are there.
The VIN tag and Trim tag have never been removed or tampered with. The Trim tag reads. 04D Style 65-16637 STL 017485 Body TR 315 C-C Paint

Is your new-car warranty good at the race track?
Mon, Feb 27 2017We've all heard the horror stories. Your buddy knows a girl that was dating a guy whose best friend's brother once broke his brand-new, recently purchased performance car while making runs at a drag strip or laps at a track day, and the manufacturer wouldn't cover the repair under warranty. True story? Urban legend? Complete crap? Yes, no, maybe. One thing's for sure: Automotive warranties have always come with caveats. In 1908, an ad in the Trenton Evening Times clearly stated: "All Ford Cars Guaranteed for One Year." Although it changed over time, by 1925 the Ford New Car Guarantee only covered 90 days on material and 30 days on labor, and it clearly stated that that there was "No guarantee whatever on Fan Belts, Glass, Bulbs, Wiring, Transmission, Bands, Hose Connections, Commutator Shells, Rollers, Spark Plugs or Gaskets." Whether or not Ol' Henry would pay to fix your Model T if you broke it shaving a tenth off your lap time at the local board track seems to be lost to history. We're guessing no. But what about today? Do new-car warranties in 2017 cover cars when they are driven on race tracks? We researched the warranties of 14 auto brands to find out, and the answer is yes, no, maybe, depending on the brand, in some cases the model, and whether or not your car is modified from stock. Acura has been out of the high-performance car game for a number of years, but jumps back into the party in 2017 with its hybrid-powered $173,000 NSX supercar. And Acura's warranty, as well as Honda's, clearly states that it does not cover "the use of the vehicle in competition or racing events." View 33 Photos So we asked Sage Marie, Senior Manager of Public Relations for Honda and Acura. "If the car is stock, the warranty covers it on a track just as it does on the street. No question," he told us. "However, if the car is modified, say with slick tires or other components that would put higher stresses on the vehicle's parts and systems, then we would have to investigate the circumstances further." Marie went on to say the same would be true for any Acura model or Honda vehicle, including the new 2017 Honda Civic Si. This became a common theme. Chevrolet actually started this practice with the fifth-generation Camaro on the high-performance ZL1 and Z/28 models.
Indian tuner turns Chevy Optra into Mustang 'Eleanor' replica
Fri, 03 Aug 2012If you are a big fan of automotive oddities, this may come as a little treat. If you are a Shelby or Mustang diehard, prepare to have your sensibilities violated.
The master fabricators at BigDaddyCustoms are the minds behind what you see above. At first, it appears to be a slightly misshapen custom Mustang, modeled after "Eleanor" from Gone In 60 Seconds, but upon further examination, something appears to be amiss. In fact, the custom shop, based in India, has created an Eleanor replica grafted upon a lowly Chevrolet Optra. While it may take a second for the Optra to ring a bell, you should recognize its badge-engineered sibling, the Daewoo Lacetti, used on Top Gear.
We don't know what star would opt for the Reasonably Priced Car in Shelby's clothing, but it's clearly someone more concerned with the aesthetic than the performance credentials of this automotive mash-up.
GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices
Mon, 21 Oct 2013The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.
