Up for NO RESERVE auction is an all original 1965 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport that has been sitting in a barn for the last 33 years with the same owner. This original Super Sport has been garaged kept this entire time and was last registered and on the road in 1980 (see NYS inspection sticker in windshield) This car has Factory Air, Power Steering, and Power Brakes. Also the original 12-bolt rear end is STILL in tact. I did get this car to run off the fuel I poured in the carburetor to see if she would fire. It did, pretty quickly but will definitely need a tune up (also needs a battery). Anticipate winching or flat bed this car on a trailer. It will run but not long enough to get it trailered. Also when I was moving it around the strap broke the petcock on the lower radiator. It will need to have a new pet cock brazed in to hold antifreeze. I have a window sticker, vehicle guarantee, and original owners manual. This car was sold new at Ithaca Motor Company in Ithaca NY. I have the transferable registration (title) to go along with the sale. Super Sport Impalas with factory air are hard to come by. The original 327 engine, automatic transmission and 12-bolt rear end appear to be original to the car.
The previous owner told me one of the previous owners passengers accidentally pushed the car into reverse while it was driving. I'm not sure what this did to the shifter or the transmission but it is currently in neutral. As you can see in the photos it is a restoration project. The car is totally complete minus the original air cleaner and ONE hubcap (I HAVE THREE OF FOUR). The interior is all there and in very very good shape. The seats have original plastic covers which looks like they preserved the original vinyl very good. The original upholstery appears to be rip/tear free. The headliner is also excellent just needs a good cleaning. The dash pad is not cracked at all and surprisingly the steering wheel isn't either! The dash is not cut and is all original. All of the original glass is still in the car, front windshield has a scratch from wiper. The center console is in good shape.
Chrome is OK will need to be redone for show quality. Stainless is in good shape. The car has some frame rust as you can see in the picture. The rockers will need work, quarters will need rust repair, as well as the fenders and doors. Floors were patched in the front (not great) The pictures write the script. Doors shut perfect with good body gaps. Included are tons of parts. Basically an entire interior (bucket seats, another SS center console, rear seat, sail panels, door panels, etc...), another rear bumper with brackets, front fender and inner fender (some good parts), good trunk lid and LH/RH extensions with taillights, an extra complete door, and an extra dash.
As I mention, this car is a project and will need to be winched. It will run but I didn't try to get it to drive. Please bid with confidence and with intentions to follow through.

GM recalls 8,500 Chevrolet Malibu models for rear suspension glitch
Mon, 04 Feb 2013According to a letter from General Motors to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, flaws in the build process of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu have led to the recall of 8,519 cars. Units built between December 6, 2011 and January 15, 2013 may have been assembled with rear suspension cradles that had insufficient torque applied to certain bolts. That out-of-spec assembly could lead to issues ranging from slight noises to a loss of vehicle control.
The problem was first noticed in December of last year by a GM test fleet driver and eventually tracked back to the improperly torqued bolts on the suspension cradle assembled through July 2012 by a supplier located not too far from the Malibu's Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Since an official NHTSA recall notice has not been issued yet, it isn't clear whether or not Detroit-built Malibus were the only ones affected (the 2013 Malibu is also built at GM's Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas). Dealers will fix the problem by inspecting vehicles for proper torque specs, retightening if not within specs and, in some cases, perform a rear-wheel alignment.
GM recalling 70k Chevy Malibus, Pontiac G6s over steering issue
Sun, Feb 15 2015A problem with the power steering system in the Chevy Malibu and Pontiac G6 has prompted General Motors and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to issue a recall for an estimated 69,633 vehicles. The issue revolves around the electric power steering assist, which could suddenly fail and increase the risk of a crash, especially at low speeds where the power steering is most helpful. The recall affects 2006-2007 Chevy Malibu sedans and Malibu Maxx wagons (specifically those manufactured between April 1, 2006, and June 30, 2006), as well as the Pontiac G6 (which was offered as a sedan, coupe or convertible) from the same model years and manufactured from April 18, 2006, to June 30, 2006. Owners of the affected units can expect to hear from the manufacturer with instructions to bring in their vehicles to their local dealers to have the torque sensors in the power steering system replaced. RECALL Subject : Sudden Loss of Electric Power Steering , 1 INVESTIGATION(S) Report Receipt Date: FEB 04, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V064000 Component(s): STEERING Potential Number of Units Affected: 69,633 Manufacturer: General Motors LLC SUMMARY: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2006-2007 Chevrolet Malibu and Malibu Maxx vehicles manufactured April 1, 2006, to June 30, 2006, and 2006-2007 Pontiac G6 vehicles manufactured April 18, 2006, to June 30, 2006. In the affected vehicles, there may be a sudden loss of electric power steering (EPS) assist that could occur at any time while driving. CONSEQUENCE: If power steering assist is lost, greater driver effort would be required to steer the vehicle at low speeds, increasing the risk of a crash. REMEDY: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the torque sensor assembly, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or Pontiac customer service at 1-800-762-2737. GM's number for this recall is 14772. Note: This is an expansion of recall 14V-153 to cover additional vehicles built between April 1, 2006 and June 30, 2006. NOTES: Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
2014 Chevrolet C7 Corvette wastes no time zooming into Jay Leno's Garage
Thu, 24 Jan 2013Where else would you expect the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray to show up first? Although this time it isn't exactly in Jay Leno's Garage, Leno instead playing an away game at Brown's Classic Auto in Scottsdale, Arizona. Nor does Leno drive the car, instead taking an 11-minute walkaround of the new American sports car with General Motors design head Ed Welburn, the same man who recently brought by a string of classic Corvettes to the talk show host's California compound.
It is, admittedly, a love-fest for the American sports car now featuring 450 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, but one that also features admissions about previous Corvette seats like "they were kinda rough," and the explanation that labeling the coupe "Stingray" means not having to call it "the base Corvette." On top of that, Welburn also explains the proper application of the term "dashboard." You can watch it all in the video below.
