1964 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport, From checking the VIN and cowl tag it appears to be a real Super Sport car, Has what appears to be the original 327 engine and
Powerglide transmission,Power steering and standard brakes,Has the following accessories:Factory tachometer, under dash mounted tissue dispenser, dual rear  antennas, gas door guard, fender skirts with stone shields, door handle scratch guards, rocker panel mouldings, seat belts, blue dot tail  lenses, dual outside mirrors, floor mats with white bowties, padded dash, accessory wire wheel covers,The car runs and drives real good for a 50 year old car,I have owned it for four years but I have only had it titled and licensed for two years, the first two years it just sat in the garage,  I  have driven it on several 50-75 mile trips in the summer,in the winter it sits in the garage while we are in Florida, After is sits all winter the transmission leaks about a pint of fluid but It never bothered me enough to have seals replaced, has good matching of Coker radial whitewall tires,I was told that the car was from Bristol Tennessee and was restored 25-30 years ago,It really does look like it was a good amateur restoration of that era,the car has nicks, chips and a few dings from being done so long ago but it is absoloutely sharp from a few feet away and you can not drive it anywhere without drawing considerable attention, the car appears to have had a little rust repair, the right inner rocker panel needs a little repait on the back side as do a few other places underneath,it has a small crack on the left side at the belt moulding(I had one of these cars in 1970 and it had the same small crack),paint is extremely shiny,as far as I see everything works except the radio and the heater blower switch(I have another heater control with the switch) but I have never driven it when I needed heat,The interior looks great for being redone so long ago,it does have a little wear on the back upright of the drivers seat(looks like from getting in and out of the back seat)not worn through just looks scuffed, the headliner is good but the sail panels are discolored, carpet is good but not as bright as it once was,the vinyl on the console lid is cracked, dash pad looks good but looks like it had a small repair once, has dual exhaust-the mufflers look and sound like flowmaster, has spare tire-jack-lug wrench, the emblems all look pretty nice,If you are looking for a high point show car this is not it but if you want something that will get as much attention as any $50,000 car this is it at a fraction of the cost,I have a good clear Indiana title in my name,I have some extra lenses, mouldings, emblems, hood hinges, mirrors ect, some new some used that I am including,as you can see the car has the optional wire wheel covers and I am including a set of 4 original 64 SS wheel covers,Car shows a little over 50,00 miles but I have no way of knowing--the Indiana titles list older cars as exempt,The 1964 Indiana license plate  is not included,As you can see from my ebay user name I am really not into Chevrolets but this car has been a lot of fun for us,I would consider delivering the car up to 500 miles for expenses as long as it is paid for in full before I leave home with it,I have never driven it on long trips but I think it would be ok but remember it is old,If you are interested in delivery talk to me about it before the auction ends,I want $500.00 paypal deposit witih 24 hours of auction end and the balance within 7 days,I will accept wire transfer or cash,,I will accept a cashiers check or personal check but I will not release the car until funds clear-probably 7-10 days---If you cant do the terms please don't bid,I will be happy to answer any questions but please ask them long before the auction ends,Once it ends I expect you to buy the car no excuses,,,Fair Enough? I can store the car free for up to 30 days as long as it is paid for in full within 7 days of end of auction, After 30 days I could put it in a storage locker but the cost would be $100 per month. The pictures are dated 2006 but they were taken today. Located in Greenwood Indiana 46143-Indianapolis suburb

I would be happy to work with your shipper if you need to have the car transported.I have used several different companies through the years myself and have had very few problems. I think DAS Dependable Auto Shippers do a great job. They require that the car be dropped off at a terminal(which I would be happy to do) and then you would have to pick it up at the nearest terminal to you.Not really recommending them just a suggestion since they did a great job for me in the past. There many others that are good too.

On Jul-28-14 at 13:02:05 PDT, seller added the following information:

My grandson really wants this car but he really needs something a little more modern for a daily driver.Something that can be left outside.

I think this car is worth around $20,000.It is insured for $30,000 so I think someone is going to get a great buy.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Plug In 2014: VIA makes the case for 'free' plug-in hybrid work vans, trucks

Fri, Aug 1 2014

If you're a fleet manager who's been waiting anxiously for the chance to buy a plug-in hybrid van from Via Motors, your wait is almost over. If you work for the right fleet, anyway. David West, the chief marketing efficer for VIA Motors, took AutoblogGreen for a ride around the San Jose Convention Center in a Via van sporting an Electric Blue paint job as part of the Plug In 2014 Conference this week and gave us an update on how things are coming along. The big news is that the Via PHEV van production is going to start by the end of September. Via can currently build two vans an hour at its production plant in Mexico, or about 16 a day and could easily double that. "That would get us to 20,000 a year with two full lines running," West said. "We have the capacity." "There is no way gas can compete with electric." – David West, Via Motors But they can't sell that many quite yet. By the end of December, around 350 Vans will be made, mostly for a $20-million program from the Department of Energy (DOE) and the South Coast Air Quality Management District that will see the vehicles used by fleets that will report energy data to the Idaho National Lab. Via is also finishing up CARB certification for both the van and the company's plug-in hybrid pick-up truck. About 50 percent of Via's technology in the truck will not need to be tested again, since it's the same as what's in the van, but things like crash tests will need to be done twice. Despite the progress, this is not where Via hoped it would be today. The bankruptcy of battery supplier A123, "took about a year off our timeline," West said. "It's been getting a little slow getting it to market, there have been some challenges, particuarly since we had the country's worst recession right in the middle of this wrap up, but it's inevitable in my mind. There is no way gas can compete with electric." Maybe that's why FedEx has expressed an interest in buying around 5,000 units, West said. FedEx already has some pilot vehicles, just like Verizon does, and PG&E wants to replace all of their gas trucks with electric vehicles, which would be another 3,000 sales, he said. Besides the fuel savings, vehicles like these, with easy on-site power generation, could also work wonders in post-disaster situations, he said, since they could replace the need for generators.

Hot Wheels Camaro to make big debut at Indy

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

Chevrolet handed over the keys to 33 Hot Wheels Camaro Convertible Indianapolis 500 festival cars this week. Race directors get the luxury of driving the droptops around Indianapolis in an ongoing tradition with roots all the way back to the 1960s. The stunt is supposed to remind area residents that the Indy 500 is right around the corner. The cars are our first look at the special Camaro Hot Wheels Edition in convertible form, and they are slated to head to dealers after a one-time production run. The cars also represent the first time in history full-size Hot Wheels have been offered for sale by an automaker.
The cars will be available in both the previously seen coupe bodystyle and this convertible configuration, and will feature metallic blue paint and special wheels with the iconic redline accent. Buyers will be able to choose between the V6-powered 2LT trim and the V8-powered 2SS guise.
Hot Wheels says the original Custom Camaro toy was one of the original 16 1:64-scale diecasts, and it remains one of the company's most valuable collector items today.

A conversation with GM's Mark Reuss on MPG, aluminum and Corvettes

Wed, Feb 19 2014

There was plenty to talk about when General Motors hosted its annual mid-December holiday media reception a few months ago. GM had just decided to pull its global Chevrolet brand out of major European markets, where Chevys have competed directly with GM Europe Opel and Vauxhall vehicles, and the US government had sold its last remaining shares of GM stock. But most important was the company's just-reshuffled leadership. Post-bankruptcy CEO Dan Akerson had announced that he would step aside and that 52-year-old Mary Barra would replace him on January 15. Not only would she be the first woman to lead a major automaker, she would also be GM's first engineer CEO since Bob Stempel in the early 1990s. "I look at 2013 and 2014, as the retooling of General Motors" - Mark Reuss Replacing her as executive VP for global product development (and purchasing and supply chain) would be 49-year-old Mark Reuss, who had served a stellar four years as North American president, and elevated to corporate president (from executive VP and CFO) would be 42-year-old Dan Amman. All three are relatively young auto enthusiasts who are liked and respected inside and outside the company, and their collective talents and experience are highly complementary. I've interviewed Barra and found her smart, personable and knowledgeable, though she carefully walks the corporate line in speaking and answering questions. I met and chatted with Ammann for the first time at that holiday reception, and he made a good first impression. But I've known Reuss for some time as a genuinely good guy and a highly capable and inspiring leader, and I believe he is exactly the right person for the global product responsibility once famously held by the outspoken, oft-controversial Bob Lutz. So I jumped at an opportunity to join a group interview of Reuss (with mostly business reporters) at the Detroit Auto Show in January. It was an interesting session of mostly good questions, which he answered with refreshing candor and humor. "I look at 2013 and 2014, as the retooling of General Motors," Reuss said. "We've taken down almost every plant in North America, converted and turned it this last year, and to do that with award-winning vehicles and pretty flawless launches is key. We have to keep the train rolling on great product, because the rest won't happen without the best product, period." A reporter asked whether GM was pushing big trucks, SUVs and Corvettes again because gas is cheap. "No," Reuss said.
