1964 Chevrolet Impala! Built 283 V8! Complete Car! Original Interior/exterior! on 2040-cars
Asheville, North Carolina, United States
1964 Chevrolet Impala You are looking at a piece of history; a 1964 Chevrolet Impala. It is very hard to even find pieces to these cars, let alone find a whole car, and one that runs and drives. This car is great for absolutely anything. This is NOT a show car by any means and has not been restored. It has been left in its “original” condition and will make for an absolutely great restoration project or cruiser car. You will not be able to pull it out of the driveway without someone asking you questions about it or people taking pictures of it. It is an absolute blast to own and drive. After a complete restoration, you would have one very rare and hard to find car. You could also leave the car exactly as it sits and drive it for years to come.
This is a truly rare find! You find Impala’s all over the place that have been highly modified, but not this one. You are being given the chance to own a car that will make for a great restoration project that already has the motor taken care of for you. It would be very hard to even put a price on this car after a complete restoration was completed.
The following is what makes this car such a great vehicle:
THE GOOD: - CLEAN AND CLEAR TITLE IN HAND - VIN: 41847F276455 - 17,662 miles (on body and chassis) - BRAND NEW 283 V8 Engine - All original car - Very solid inside and out - Runs and drives great - Truly a rare find - All trim pieces are present - All glass is present - All chrome is present - A complete interior is present - All lights are present - New battery - Okay tires - Transmission fully service - New starter - New air filter - New valve covers - New headers - New alternator - New water pump - New exhaust - New radiator - MANY NEW ENGINE PARTS (way too many to list) - Minor rust - Badges are present - Great looking underbody - Top is in fair shape - Mirror is present - Body is very solid - Original steering wheel and dash - Seats are in good shape - A luxury vehicle in its day - Comfortable and spacious - Motor is complete (BRAND NEW BUILD) - All receipts included - Steers great - Body lines are good - Doors shut great - Heat works well - MUST SEE IN PERSON - Will travel/drive anywhere
THE BAD: - Needs shocks - Does have some rust - Looks to have bondo is some spots - Trunk had a rusty pan but has been patched and sealed - The car is NOT perfect - Does have very minor leaks - Door panels have some rough spots - 17, 662 is what the odometer reads. The actual mileage is unknown.
I know I am forgetting a few things, but I have done my best to list everything that this car has or includes. You will be very pleased with the attention it gets after it has been restored, or even in the condition is currently sits. There are endless possibilities with this car. You could literally leave it exactly as it sits, and drive it for years. You could invest thousands in order to make it a fully restored piece of history. You could install your choice of replacement parts to have the car meet your preferences. The list goes on and on forever. This is a 1964 Chevrolet Impala! There is no other car like it!
Please, keep in mind this vehicle is considered an antique. It is by no means a show car or a “perfect” condition car. You absolutely must see it in person to appreciate it! I will not haul the car for you to decide if you like it or not. You are the buyer; therefore, you are responsible for all parts on your end of the sale (i.e. shipping, title transfer, registration, insurance, inspection, and so on).

Weekly Recap: Tesla loses money, still dominates the news
Sat, Aug 8 2015Some people get an inordinate amount of attention. In politics, it's Donald Trump. In football, it's Jim Harbaugh. And in the auto world, it's Elon Musk and his always-fascinating electric car company, Tesla Motors. General Motors is spending $877 million to upgrade a factory. So what! US auto sales are up. Who cares? Tesla has a metal snake that will recharge your car! So was the week in Tesla – er, the industry. Snarkiness aside, Tesla did dominate the news cycle, led by the announcement the company lost $184 million in the second quarter. Tesla also said it expects to deliver between 50,000 and 55,000 vehicles this year, and is preparing for a full launch of the Model X crossover in September. Musk also made news during the earnings call by simply not answering a question about ride sharing, leading to speculation Tesla could be considering its own operation. While the financials were the arguably the most important company news, reports of a Model S cyber hacking were more compelling fodder for Tesla followers. Researchers were able to attack the sedan and bring it to a stop, though they required access to the car first. Tesla says it already has deployed a remedy for the situation. On a lighter note, Tesla published a video of its metal charger prototype that autonomously uncoils like a snake to power up the company's vehicles, provoking plenty of humorous comments and comparisons. Watch it and decide for yourself. While some of this might seem trivial, much of Tesla's recent attention has been warranted. It's the first startup US automaker in decades to launch from nothing and actually gain traction in the market. Sure, Musk is a lightning rod and Tesla always seems to be in the spotlight. But amid all of the publicity, it easy to lose sight of the new reality: Tesla is a force. OTHER NEWS & NOTES 2016 Chevy Volt lights up 106 MPGe The Chevy Volt's vitals are looking healthier for 2016. The second-generation plug-in hybrid racks up a gaudy 106 miles per gallon equivalent, which is an increase of eight MPGe from the 2015 model. The new Volt can travel 53 miles on electricity, a significant jump from the 2015 Volt's 38-mile range. The new car also has a 420-mile total range when factoring in the capability of the gasoline engine, which is 40 miles greater than the current car offers.
Recharge Wrap-up: Tesla sells Model S 85 and 70D in Malaysia, Chevy Spark EV built using clean energy
Mon, May 18 2015Tesla will send Model S 70D and Model S 85 EVs to Malaysia for leasing to government-linked companies. Only those companies will have access to the models as a two-year lease, which will be imported and leased by Malaysian Green Technology Corporation. The plan is part of an initiative by the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water to allow government officials and other influential people to get to know the electric vehicles and the benefits that come along with them. Most of the 120 vehicles available will be the 70D model, and the lessee companies will have the option to purchase the cars at the end of the two years. Read more from Paul Tan's Automotive News. The plant has reduced its energy intensity by 15.5 percent in three years, and continues to work toward reducing consumption and sourcing clean energy. GM recalls Colorado, Canyon, and Malibu for airbag problem
Wed, Mar 9 2016The Basics: General Motors will recall and issue a stop sale on 1,740 total examples of the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, Malibu, and GMC Canyon. This includes 1,579 units in the US and 161 in Canada. The Problem: The second stage of the driver front airbag inflator might not be present. If this happens, the airbag won't fill as quickly as it should in a high-speed crash, which could increase the risk of injury, according to Reuters. This is not related in any way to Takata's inflator problems, and these parts come from a different supplier. Injuries/Deaths: None reported. The Fix: GM will replace the vehicles' airbag assemblies. If You Own One: GM spokesperson Tom Wilkinson told Autoblog he wasn't specifically sure when recall repairs would begin but said it would be "shortly." He expects the fixes to happen "quickly" because of the small number of affected vehicles, and many of them are either in transport or already in dealer stock. More Information: GM recalled the 2015 Canyon and Colorado in 2014 for a completely separate airbag issue. In that case, a manufacturing error improperly wired the connectors. Related Video: GM Statement GM is recalling 1,579 MY 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Malibu vehicles in the United States and 161 in Canada to replace driver-side front airbags. The second stage of the airbag may not deploy properly in certain high-speed crashes. During a routine quality inspection, it was determined that a component required for a second-stage/high-output deployment was not loaded during the inflator build. Dealers will replace the driver-side front airbag assembly. There have been no reports of crashes or injuries related to this issue. This issue is unrelated to the ongoing Takata recalls.
