Up for auction is an awesome ALL ORIGINAL UNRESTORED 1963 Impala 2 door hard top with 40,412 original miles. Factory black with red interior! Original owner owned car from new until he stopped driving it in '82, then he died in '89 and his brother got it, then the brother died and the brother's son got the car and started to restore it 3 years ago but all he did was disassemble it and mark all the parts and wrap them up! This car has very little rust. The trunk has only surface rust and the corners where the body mounts cause rust are barely starting to rust! The quarters have no rust and they are not cracking or tearing like the ones with bad body mounts! The front rear 1/4 in front of the rear wheel on the driver's side is starting to rust and so are both of the fron fenders at the lower part behind the front wheel. The rest of the front fenders are completely rust free including the inner stucture and lower mount! The hood has a rust hole in the outer front passenger side and it is rusted out along the underside, All the body panels are salvageable, The doors are perfect, no rust whatsoever. It does have a hole in the driver's 1/4 on top where the 2nd dummy rear mount antenna would have went but there was a CB antenna installed by the original owner. He was a sheriff in Indiana. There is also an antenna in the middle of the roof. These antennas are included. The car is factory 283, PG, PS, PB AM radio, rear antenna. I have ALL the original documentation the original owner would have recieved at the time of sale. This car is as straight as an arrow and has NEVER been in an accident. I strongly suggest coming to look at this car. The interior was in good shape, there is no head liner, the top of the dor panels and rear seat are sun damaged. the front seat is perfect but the seems at the corners are seperating. There are 4 1/4 screw holes in the dash. Rolls really easy, it is truly a 40,412 car! I have 100% of ALL the parts that came off the car. All the glass is in excellent shape, and present. All the chrome, stainless and aluminum is present but all needs refinished, none is damaged, the bumpers and bumper brackets are all present and undamaged! The engine will need rebuilt, number 5 piston was stuck and broke during disassembly. No warranty, $500.00 nonrefundable deposit within 24hrs of end of auction. Ask questions 614 364 6537, Mike. NO TRADES! I Don't have time or space to work on this one! as-is

Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues
Wed, 28 Dec 2011'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.
GM's MPG overstatement could affect 2 million vehicles
Tue, May 17 2016Late last week, GM admitted that three of its large SUVs fuel economy window stickers did not match their actual efficiency ratings, and so the vehicles couldn't be sold. The stickers on the 2016 Chevy Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Buick Enclave said their ratings were one to two miles per gallon better than they should have been. Officially, the number of affected vehicles sits at about 60,000. But Consumer Reports makes a good point: what's up with all of the previous model year SUVs that are basically the same vehicle? To wit: the 2016 model year vehicles are not substantially different than the 2015 or the 2014, or even going all the way back to 2007. On the EPA's fuel economy website, all of these older models will "have better stated fuel economy numbers than the new vehicles in GM's dealerships," Consumer Reports noted. CR's best point, and the one that makes the 60,000 number potentially grow to 2 million if all of the vehicles built on this platform are affected, is that "[i]t seems unlikely that the company would change the powertrain on these carryover models so late in their model cycles in a way that would cause a dramatic, negative impact on fuel economy." GM says that earlier model year SUVs are not affected and the EPA did not respond to CR's question about the potential for more discrepancies. We've seen automakers reverse course before, so if GM has to come out with a mea culpa soon, don't be surprised. GM is rushing corrected stickers to dealers so that the SUVs can be sold again, but a fix for the already-sold vehicles could be trickier to solve. Meet the mother-daughter team that's worked on almost every Chevy Volt
Sun, May 11 2014It's Mother's Day, and we're soft enough we love our mothers enough to share a new video from General Motors with you. In it, we meet Monique Watson (left) and Evetta Osbourne, a mother-daughter team that works at the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly where GM makes the Chevy Volt (along with all of GM's other plug-in hybrids: the Opel Ampera, Holden Volt and Cadillac ELR). The two work side-by-side and have installed the lithium-ion battery pack on almost all of those vehicles - nearly 80,000 of them - since GM started making the pre-production Volts in 2009. In a prepared statement, Watson said that she likes working next to her mom, day in and day out, and they the two are totally in sync when it comes to putting the 400-pound, 16.5-kWh packs into the vehicle undersides. They two can also share stories throughout the day, and Watson said, "The arrangement has absolutely improved our relationship." Osborne started working at Detroit-Hamtramck in 1999, Watson since 2006. If you're driving a Volt today, you probably have them to thank for doing a bit of the work putting your car together. See a short video of them in action below. It's Always Mother's Day for Detroit-Hamtramck Duo Mother, daughter install lithium-ion battery pack in nearly all GM electric vehicles 2014-05-08 DETROIT – For Detroit resident Evetta Osborne, every day is Mother's Day. That's because she literally works side by side with her daughter, Monique Watson, at General Motors' Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant. They have installed the lithium-ion battery pack on nearly every Chevrolet Volt, Opel Ampera, Holden Volt, and Cadillac ELR since production began. In fact, apart from vacation days and an occasional sick day, the mother-daughter duo has installed almost every battery pack since the Volt was in pre-production in 2009. The ELR launched earlier this year. All told – including Ampera – that's more than 80,000 electric vehicles. "We're a good team and our relationship is secondary when it comes to performing our jobs – but it's great to work alongside my daughter, said Osborne, a mother of five. Because the battery packs weigh more than 400 pounds each, automatic guided vehicles – robotic carts that use sensors to follow a path through the plant – deliver them just as the vehicle body structures glide into position overhead. The carts then lift the T-shaped packs, and Osborne and Watson guide them into the chassis and secure each one with 24 fasteners.
