1963 Chevrolet Super Sport Impala on 2040-cars
Valley Center, California, United States
Check out this show quality 327 Turbo Fire Viper Blue Super Sport Impala with 5000 miles on the rebuilt engine! This is a rare find. This Impala has been garaged since ownership. The paint job is flawless with a small chip on the gas tank lid with no dents. The interior is bran new, all baby blue with no wear or tears. Interior roof is all baby blue and bran new as well. The rugs on the floor board are all blue to match the Impala's paint job, all new rugs with custom Impala Super Sport matching floor mats (as seen in pictures). All exterior/interior is all original from "63". I had a bran new top of the line A/C installed that is ice cold. This baby freezes within minutes. I put on 18" 100 spoke custom Daytons rims from the factory made for the car and top of the line low profile tires that have been driven on only twice ever! I had all new mirrors installed because the originals had chips in the glass. The new ones are the same as the originals purchased from the Impala factory. I installed a stereo system that cost over 6K with sound second to none. The inside has 4 super tweeters and 6 carbon fiber speakers. all of the speakers have been installed in the Impala's original speakers slots so there were no holes drilled or any other un-original modifications. The bluetooth cd player sits in the glove box custom built in with a USB port. This keeps the Impala looking original, so from the inside and outside of the vehicle everything looks 100% original. I kept the "63" stereo in the car but it is not connected. If you purchase the car and would like to connect the original stereo deck it would be very simple. I transformed the trunk into a work of art with 2 top of the line built in amps by American Bass used in competitions around the country with 4 8" American Bass subs built in. The amps have light tubes that can be changed up to 7 different colors alluminating the entire trunk. The trunk also has custom shelves on the left and right side that are carpeted and great for storage. Also there is a middle shelf that holds a spare tire. The Impala also sits on air bags so the ride is very smooth. The car starts with a turn of the key with no problems. I decided to leave the original engine in the car to keep the cars value. I also had power steering installed bran new. There are no oil leaks, fluid leaks, transmission problems, etc. There is no rust in the car or on the outside. The under carriage of the car is rust free, you will be amazed! This car is a beauty from the guts out. I advise anyone interested in purchasing this classic beauty to look around and see what these cars are selling for. I will answer any questions you have for me so please feel free to message me anytime. To give any bidder an idea of what this classic super sport is worth there is over 20K in upgrades alone and every upgrade is bran new and unused. I built this car as a hobby to sell after taking it to a couple car shows. Everywhere this car drives people are asking to take pictures, its that nice!

Chevy Crossvolt name kept alive in new trademark application
Fri, Dec 26 2014In April 2011 General Motors submitted a trademark application with the US Patent and Trademark Office for the word "Crossvolt." In November of this year, the application expired for lack of a statement of use. But in August of this year, GM applied again for the same trademark, leading some to believe that it intends to apply the name to a vehicle. That vehicle could explain the mule in sliced-and-diced Chevrolet Orlando bodywork caught in several spy shots this year, theorized to be some kind of Toyota Prius V or Ford C-Max Hybrid competitor; or it could be a production version of the Chevrolet Volt MP5 concept showed off at the Beijing Motor Show in 2010, which was about the same size as the Chevy Orlando. Or it could be none of those things – but the fact that Chevrolet is keeping it current makes us believe it will be... something. China's rise, global restructuring wither GM's Korea division
Wed, Jan 7 2015An article in the Daily Kanban suggests the sun is setting on GM Korea, and it could already be well into dusk. GM Korea came about when General Motors, along with co-investors SAIC and Suzuki, bought Daewoo Motors from parent company Daewoo Group in 2001; it had a previous tie-up with GM, a joint venture that ended in 1992, although Daewoo cars were based on GM cars until 1996. Over the decade following the purchase, it became such an important part of operations that it was renamed GM Korea in 2011, "to reflect its heightened status in [the] global operations of GM." Just two years later, the printed rumors were that the subsidiary responsible for a fifth of Chevrolet's global production could be shutting down. The division's sales were down almost 21 percent through November of last year, counting domestic South Korean sales, exports, and CKD – Complete Knock Down – products. That makes the labor strife, already an issue for four years, even more acute, reports say the subsidiary will lose $36 million a year if it can't get the job and wage cuts it wants, and government concessions can't make up for the losses. And it gets worse, so head over to Daily Kanban to read the rest of the story.
Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine
Fri, 08 Mar 2013Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.
